It’s so nice to not be the only one sporting two watches, I’m the same, fenix 7x pro ss and a citizen eco drive on the other, not as nice as your marathon, but similar that I don’t need battery/charge and is mechanical. Fun fact Buzz Aldrin wears two and sometimes three, that sealed the deal for me.
That's funny, I thought I was the only two watch system guy. I run a techy watch (Tactix 7 Pro) & analog (Luminox Navy Seal RSC) for pretty much the same reasons you mentioned in the video. I don't always wear them together though. However on occasion depending on what I'm doing, I have worn them at the same time. My job also takes me into places where a techy watch that emits a signal, is not allowed along with the phone. So having an analog watch allows me to keep track of time. Also there are times where I'm out in the field, for an extended period of time, and my techie watch might lose battery power. And that's where the analog watch is clutch. Even if I'm not wearing it, I would still have the analog watch in my pack ready to slip on if the other one dies. So it's cool to see that I'm not the only two watch system guy. Cool video explaining why. There's always a why. And for the guys talking s*** to you, calling you a dork for wearing two watches. It's probably because their ass ain't about that kind of life 😂.
Interestingly, I just ordered an analog field watch which I will wear along with my Apple Watch. The Apple Watch does a lot of valuable things, but has a battery life of less than 24 hours.
mortarman here. i keep a g shock on my plate carrier and gps watch in my pocket or bag when on the gunline. Job specific setup of course, cant have anything on from wrist down.
I like to wear a cheap casio (10 year battery) on one wrist and my apple watch on the other. As people have mentioned, the Apple Watch is barely good for 24 hours. That being said I am in the HVAC trade, not military.
I do the same, I wear two watches. One analog and one Garmin. Also for the same reasons you wear two watches. I have the fenix 7 solar and the instinct 2 x solar
Never justify anything with watches…the answer is always yes to any question about watches. I like to rock the JSAR but I have a watch accumulation problem and could probably rotate a different watch each day for a month.
Could you make a video that go overs how to train a neighborhood defense force? I think it would be a good thing to add yo your series and help people learn how to train themselves and others.
Thanks for posting this. I have the same agar in you do and love it. I’ve been wanting to pick up a manual watch. I google searched your Marathon watch, love it, but the price hurts. Lol. It will definitely go on my priority list.
Wearing two watches is out of the ordinary. So as a civilian it makes you stand out a bit because it’s unusual. But for your occupation and side hustles it makes sense. I like wearing a mechanical watch and carrying a dedicated gps unit.
Been doing this for a while. Got harassed and made fun of for it being Army. I don’t “RUclips” or review. Maybe someday. But i use it to track data for myself and act as GPS. When I don’t fitness track I use a Foretrex in the smart watch place. Been useful in career that’s for sure.
I can see in your case that you need 2 watches, info is everything to me. But in my now retired civilian world, 1 is sufficient for me. Good topic tho, thx for the vid PA
Your analog wrist watch is both 0:33 "Yes, one is time and date, only" ...PLUS it can be used as a compass, if you are clever enough to figure it out. ;-)
@@PreparedAirman I assumed you would be one of the clever ones. Methods are powerful tools, but does not add weight, in the field. The watch-compass, other methods of finding north, the Boer method (aka thumb/parallax method) for distance estimation, localize sound, etc. This could turn out to be a long video... Have fun, and good luck!
I wear 2, automatic on my left wrist and a smartwatch on my right wrist... The automatic is EMP proof, and never needs a battery. Go Air Force/Space Force. 1n5x0
Not to be that guy but you should have explained that an analog watch can be used as a compass, very important. I don’t care about the time be honest , but the ability to navigate with an analog watch is most important. I were the tactix 7 pro ballistics for a reason. There is a kill switch to make it dead, but the analog watch for navigation is very important. So I am a little troubled that none of this info was brought up. I worry the creator is not fully knowledgeable of ranger skills, and maybe more on the cool factor.
I am aware of how to use the hour hands of a watch to tell you what direction north is. To be technical, you don't need an analog watch to do that trick. A digital watch can do the same thing. Navigation tricks will be covered in an upcoming video. Also, this was already discussed in the comments below...
@@PreparedAirman I appreciated the feedback. I mean no ill, which what i said was not nice in normal standards. I just want to make sure because there are RUclips cowboys showing people things beyond their spectrum. I appreciate your response and also hope that your viewers see that I am acknowledging that you know this and were 2 watches for more reasons than i saw on the video. Please take my apology for this and be well. I was also very active military for a period in my life. I have now chosen to live in a very remote place so i can raise my daughter in peace, not in what we saw. Be well and sorry.
Prepared Airman : This is a waste of Your Time , and My Time, with this particular Video on " Why I Wear 2 Watches"? Who cares? It is Your Business , and , YOUR BUSINESS ALONE , and, there is No Need to explain why ,as an Active Duty Airman, in a Secure Compartmentalized Information Facility ( SCIF) , has to explain to Anyone. DO YOU, BRO, AND 2 HELL WITH EVERYONE ELSE. Thank You Yourself for Your Military Service as an Airman.
It's called "Pulling a Schwarzkopf".
Marathon GSAR is a solid choice; gotta love tritium.

That GSAR crystal is so great; such a great durable watch.
Thank you for doing the video.
I have a marathon watch.

Grid down calls for analog help. I learned that from you. Thanks
Pretty good reasons dude! Right on

Tudor black bay and instinct 2 for me lol
Plus EMP won’t affect mechanical watches and you can use the watch hands for navigation using the sun. 👍🏼
Hello fellow Airman. I also use two. Great minds..

I bet 5 people out of 100 would notice.

And , and , and ... it look`s Cool . Cheer`s .
Probably in that time's one of those watches will be unused. Only analogue watch probably will use if it will be a important issue in that time . 😮😢
Thanks for another great video
Cell phones suck when yoy need something in a hurry. What's the easiest and most efficient smart watch for gps/location and such?
From what I have used, the Garmin Instinct 2 is very well equipped.

Yes, they have hook on the back of them.

I was planning on doing a video on that technique soon actually lol

Buy a solar Garmin 😊

smart watches are so Dick Tracy. High-speed kool-kidz go HUD. 😁
so your links in the notes are suggesting you have $3,000 on your two wrists combined???
The GSAR you can get for $1000 and the Garmin tactix 7 you can find for $1500 so technically $2500.
Some of us have more than that on one wrist.

You messed one reason. It gets people to commit and the bust the channel
$1,500 watch🤨
The Garmin Instinct 2x Tactical almost does everything the $1500 Tactix does for $380 on sale.

If you're a watch guy $1,500 is closer to the floor than the ceiling.

Circumvent?

I don't think that's English.
