Friendly reminder this is LIVE if you want album quality listen to the album. They kick ass live. I’ll never understand how people expect perfect live performances lol
The only problem is if you use a lot of effects whilst recording,it’s hard to duplicate it live, they aren’t a bad live band they just sound a little off sometimes, but still very good!!
I've been to over 100 concerts, and I can definitely say that Amity was in the top 3. It's just incredible how unbelievably good they sound live. Joel sounds exactly the same in person as he does in the studio... Definitely the best live screamer I've ever seen!
@@ey_noiym3063 "Like A Version" is a recurring series of videos on this channel where artists cover other artists, he was suggesting The Amity Affliction would make a great addition. It was fairly simple to comprehend.
He doesn't have standard single coil pickups, he has some custom pickups installed that look like std single coils but they are amplified with some in built battery pack thingy that allows him to get super crunchy gain. Search rig rundown on RUclips there is a vid of him explaining it. I thought the same when I first saw him playing strats without even humbuckers
For me it’s quite painful. Love this band but the 1:30 minutes of inaudible screaming ruins the pleasant melody of the song. I know Joel has a voice. If I could only understand you were saying
At the beginning I used to find really annoying they depend so much on the backing track, like if the computer breaks up the song becomes lacking of a massive part of the sound, melodies, colours, with time passing I started to consider this kind of live performance (and the creative process behind it) like a particoular conception of music itself, something like "backing tracks heavy dependent performance" or something like that, and they became one of my favourite bands of those who have this approach
There’s a limit though. It’s annoying when it gets to a big band like Coldplay who could afford to just pay musicians to play the stuff live on stage, and they still play with a track.
@@thetravellershub I think that in some case it's almost inevitable to use backing tracks, for example when vocals have many layers and may be there are programmed synths or edited instruments / vocals, that to sound in that way require post production or programming, in that case there is almost no way to play them live using real personnel (for example In Flames use many layers for the vocals). Other bands, like Dimmu Borgir, sometimes use real players on stage, and their instrumentals are playable pretty close as they sound in the album, but they can't afford to do it everytime. I think band like Coldplay, as you said, could afford to have real players on their shows, and a big part of their stuff could be playable by real players sounding close to the studio version, but I think they / their managers don't want to lose money paying additional musicians when they can use backing tracks and most of their audience is happy with that
Its the new norm now about live performances sadly. Bands sacrifice that “ human “ parts of their sound in favor of consistency ( notes, playing ability, nailing the record sound) having a great open mindset about these things are great. You really know your live music.
I've seen these guys every Brisbane/Sunshine Coast show they have done since 2015 and I can honestly that Joel's vocals have only gotten more and more amazing each time. I don't know whether it's the break they had over covid but Ahren's vocals have been severely affected. But still love and support these guys no matter what! ❤️
Hahaha ! Legit I was thinking the same thing! When I saw them live I was screaming my head off and head banging till I had a headache … everyone was staring at me like I was crazy lol! Nah man just love their older music haha !
It’s not the performance, that part is great; it’s the awkward crowd vibe that makes it feel weird as a viewer. You wanna be in a pit of hyped fans jumping up and down
@@joshwakem3447 id argue that Ahren's voice has been going downhill from heavy smoking. Joel has a bit of inconsistency with live performances but is generally banging
Meh, guitarists playing to backing track shit me especially when used by so called “metal” bands. Hence these guys are looked down upon by their peers.
Lol that one guy on the side of the stage head banging whilst everyone els just stands there 😂😂😂🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ yeah my guy … this isn’t head banging heavy … listen to their old stuff then you can head bang your head off … lol. I love amity but this album was such a let down! :(
Love them, they're one of my favorites but fuck off with the antifascist shirt. Unless Joel's anti fascism when it comes from both sides of the political spectrum, but knowing him and his politics, probably not. I've learned very much to separate the art from the artist in recent years though. Anyway looking forward to the new songs that are suppose to drop by them soon. 🖤🤘💐

Just started listening to them and I think it sounds very close to the album version.
This sounds pretty badass to me. What were people bitching like always lol. Dumb fucks. This band rocks.

Joel's vocals have come so incredibly far since their early albums and it's so amazing!
the only band i ever cried when i seen them live it was magical
Honestly same
YES
I can relate. They keep us off the ledge all the time and when you finally see them live it’s overwhelming… its like seeing super heroes
me too
"All fucked up" got me the most
Don't know why but this song just pulls so much emotion. These guys seriously know how to get you to relate and feel intense emotions
Ahren with a little grit in his voice. I dig!
more out of tune notes than grit
If you are talking about screamy, he is doing a radio distortion with his voice
god it’s so amazing seeing ahren perform live this well let’s hope he can keep it up when the tour starts.
This is by far the best live video they have. Love this
Joel screaming rock and the proceeding breakdowns always been my favorite part of this song but it gave me chills here
Get them to do like a version.
They did a TNT cover
what in the fuck are you trying to say
