Makes not one bit of difference that it’s a replica. Except the price tag. It’s built to GTHO specs right down to the last nut and bolt. Call it replica or tribute, so be it. Good luck finding and owning a genuine GTHO that’s up to the standard of this build. If you want the experience of owning a GTHO, there it is right there. No matter how much money you shell out for the genuine article, it will be no better than this car in either build quality or performance. That’s all Ford really done back in day, was hot up a falcon 500. Matching numbers stamped into the engine bay don’t give the car mystical powers. This is a superb build. Well done gentlemen. There are not enough superlatives to describe the effort gone into building this amazing example. My hat is off to each of you. I would love to be able to restore my 1970 VF Valiant Pacer . Sadly I don’t have the resources or know how.
@ Rick Jangle,I agree & in some restos, they are better than the original, because of the extra attention to detail as well as the modern age improvements for parts, paints etc,etc 👍 That an original enthusiast or mock up hater cannot deny 😁
Pcorf Creations @ some are better than the factory originals..... What I find amusing is when some that are for sale in their ads they say original, Original tho is untouched except for perishables like, petrol & oil filters etc. A car that has its alternator changed for example is not original even if it is a genuine factory spec. replacement!
Maybe if you in the earlier stages slowed the blog down so the masses could see the bits and pieces it could have been more entertaining. Aside from that it was great to bring back good memories as I owned 2 XYs . Beautiful vehicles at the end of the day.
One of my favourite cars, with 3 of my favourite songs! Congratulations, nice build. I've had the pleasure of driving an original, truly awesome machine
WOW!!! this was built in the USA? I'm an Australian, if it was, I am totally blown away. So great to see US guys get into our GT HO Falcons, nothing like these exist in the USA, what do you Americans think of this cars looks and designs? impeccable job, it's really awesome to see the US get into our falcons.. A+ video.
Not sure why this said 'US' but I think it was n Australian. But here is the one I drive in California. I sent 2 over here over the years. The red one was totally restored here in the US and I built half the other one in Australia and it was finished in the US ruclips.net/video/DYyMN7XnT2w/видео.html
I did my Apprenticeship with Ford when the XR FALCON 500 was coming to an end and the XY FALCON range was in full production. The FALCON GTHO PHASE III was a solidly built fast vehicle's for road cars. I completed my Apprenticeship in the last year the XC FALCON was in production. Wish you guys had a workshop in Australia so I could have my 1998 EL FALCON sedan could be rebuilt as it's starting to have rust area in critical places. Can't find parts either so trying to preserve the vehicle the best I can, the motor and drive train are original and hasn't let me down with just over 400,000 kilometers on the clock. Changed the indicator switch late last year and apart from brake pads and other items that wear out. In 2016, the vehicle went through a wildfire to get to safety. Some plastic moulds had to be replaced, wiper arms/windscreen wipers. The engine still pulls well and still average roughly 25 miles per gallon. Keep up the great work rebuilding these great vehicles.
During my time the XY GTHO Phase 3 was built there were never any issues with head gaskets needing replacing. During my ten (10) years at the Ford Dealer apart from the regular servicing not much went wrong with the car, occasionally you would come across a bad spark plug or spark plug lead which broke down under heavy acceleration. The Australian government stopped Ford from building the XY Falcon GTHO Phase 4 as it (the government) considered the vehicle too fast for Australian roads.
I think it's awesome to see Americans build and respect this car. When you built this, what did you think of the designs compared to US Falcons? Any weird stuff in this car? The XY-XW had the best cockpit of any muscle car ever in my opinion.
Nice Faker guys, I wonder how many real GTHO's are out there that had exactly this type of work put into them, Ild say more than one wrecked Shaker was rebuilt using another body donor.
@@aussieausdeutschland4245 No it wasn't. This is from Ford Australia. You could say that about every Holden too, as they have obvious Chev designs all through their line up. Designed in OZ i believe.

Yeah Holden Monaro kick its ass first time out at Bathurst coming 1st 2sec & 3rd in front of GTHO on the road race track in the world by far 'ha you yanks
In 1968 the HK 327 Monaro finished in the top 3 places against the XT GT Falcon after the first GT, the XR won in '67. This Replica is the XY from '71. The first GTHO, the XW was in '69 and the HT 350 Monaro had another win that year. As you may know the Goodyear Racing tyres failed on the Falcons allowing the Monaro's to cruise to victory. The XY GTHO that this Replica is based on, I believe from memory easily won in '71 finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th with an XU-1 or Charger in 4th. Maybe you weren't around back then Brett?
Wrong ..ADRIAN on the money for the facts but add that Harry Firth left ford to Holden an introduce to the Monaro better tyres . which then could be used in the Race...i think they were Pirelli tyres..... There are some totally OTT Falcon-based cars about. This one's an exact and exacting replica. If I was funding such a car I would want a four or five link back axle with discs, the developments that the race cars really needed (planned for the cancelled Phase IV GTHO). But I guess this will be a show car and never driven

What the …? Fantastic car and showed the world how performance cars should be built from a tiny country. Designed built and sold in oz, the end!
Nice mate, currently doing a XW full rebuild.
Perfect 10 build, id park it in my lounge room
now that's a great job on that car everything is just concourse
Very nice Bro wish I could get mine up and running soon but Im doing it slow as never having enough money.

Why call it a restoration of an XY GTHO when it is actually the build of a Falcon 500 to GTHO specs?
YES I AGREE PEOPLE PULL THEMSELVES OVER THE NAME GTHO ITS A FALCON 500 MOCK UP LOOK ALIKE NOT A GTHO

Wait why does it say us muscle car in the title this car is an Aussie muscle
Built by US Classic Muscle Cars
Technically it is a US car. As this is a US designed car adapted to Australia.
Technically it's an Aussie built replica version of an Australian car designed and built in 1971 by and for Australia
