Absolutely fabulous record of a lot of stuff that has vanished. Mk IIs, Mk IIIs, Arrow DMUs, baby GMs, bubble cement, etc, etc. Thankfully the 071s live on! Thank you Gerry for this wonderful video.
Great video Gerry , 2600s still going strong . I brought 2601/02 to Cobh on trial in 1995 been the first 2600 on the line. The numbers were in order in the video , 2609/10 2605/06 shortly after 2610/13 , 2605/16 and 2606/15 emerged and 2609 was spare and later it was put with 2716 to form the hybrid. Great steam footage at the end. Heavy Bell Liner with a single GM.
Hi Tom. The 2610/13.5/16.6/15 were split in Inchicore for maintenance I forget the reason why, but were put back in that order no one was looking at the numbers of each railcar. It was only realised when it was pointed out the error. But the time it took was to long to rearrange back in the correct order. So that's why they ran in that order. . Glad you enjoyed the video. Gerry
Also of note, 2609 & 2610 are seen in their original format. 2609 is now part of the hybrid set 2716 which is stored in Cork. 2610 is paired up with 2613.
Gerry do you know if this was all shot on the same day? I guess not but wanted to confirm if possible. The cut from Kildare to the Curragh looking back towards Newbridge is not in sequence, right? The train that follows the empty ammonia would appear to be the Westport train but that passed through Kildare in the scenes before, hence my question about whether or not it was shot on different days. For a bit of background, I'm researching for a model railway based on Kildare/Athy/Portarlington so your videos are a precious resource. I try to identify the trains from the working timetable (unfortunately I haven't been able to locate a 1994 one but my 1992 seems close enough for the non-Arrow workings) and then make a note of what rolling stock and motive power was deployed on that train.
A really excellent video, brings back good memories of the old Hazelhatch! Thanks for uploading.

@@gerryconmy Was there a mishap with one of them that caused this ? not 100% but 2606/15 and 2605/16 is confusing 😁
Tom I not sure but i will try and find out. It was a long time ago.
Gerry
Hi Tom. Anyone I spoke to was not sure or didn't know why the units were split.
