You're going to be hard pressed to get a good crushed tomatoes without straining those somehow... I've seen several methods used. You can quarter them cook them, Cheesecloth them for acouple hours to strain, or boil whole strain, top and pop then strain. Either way, I have had no issues with clogging until 2 or 3 bushels in. I then just popped it off, gave it a couple taps and went back to it. Without straining it your really getting tomatoe puree, not truly a passata. The juicer works great. The speed, compared to a hand crank is unbelievable.
Looks as though they are using the salsa screen judging by the wet 'waste' and a few seeds sneaking into the sauce itself.. I use the finest screen but to minimize waste I Def suggest blanching 1st.. I have a different model but similar function. So glad I bought. It makes canning day a breeze instead of a long day endeavor lol
@@dr.greenthumb6535 I make tomato juice and I think you get better flavor by bring quartered tomatoes to a boil or cooking them for a bit, before running through the strainer unit
@@terrycrissman7392with this attachment, you should not boil the tomatoes. That was a big mistake i made when I used this. They clogged up in the auger. Traditionally, I used that method, but for this attachment it doesn't work out the same.
Nice work! I have a LEM too. I did 12 bushels of tomatoes this year. It's a major upgrade from the traditional method I grew up with!
Wow! That's a lot of tomatoes!
