AWESOME I found video thanks for making. My 03 ranger 2.3L fan spins exactly same I think it is effecting the ridablity of it at times wind makes it do all kinds wierd crap I have xlt its reverse rotation I noticed that. How much difference did it make??? Very curious thanks
My truck took the also make sure you get exactly same cylinder head temp sensor dont use short one it should match your original one which should be part number 1s7f-6g004-ab it's long my truck doesn't like that short one but I'm noticing a ainteefreez burning smell but no leaks or loss of coolant its been one thing after another it feels like when take foot off gas it has vibrating feels like suspension but it doesn't do it all time has be fan mine doesn't free wheel as bad as yours but isnt hard to turn at all its never stiff hot or cold feels same all time really. I would bet mine is original with 335kbut motor was swapped with a 02 2.3 150k Ive had it since 240k almost 100k but mileage is unknown really. Really awesome motors lot of power especially after 3rd gear lol I have automatic I baby my trans its my second lol
How did you know the fan clutch was bad? [ was truck overheating? ] Also your truck is very clean and rust free, my I ask where you live? I live in Michigan THANKS FRIEND
One way (because mine is still not over heating) is if the fan is spinning as fast as it should be whenever you are idling. When I am parked and city with truck running I can reach my hand down and stop the because it was only spinning due to vibrations. Note that since mine isn't over heating yet, my water pump is probably working double time to make up for it so it should be fixed asap.
Another way you can tell its bad is it will stay engaged whether it is cold or hot. It will sound louder on start up as well with the fan roaring. That is what mine is doing now

it looks like it's still stuck on a little bit even though it's new, it should be free wheeling when cold

Does it help to change fan clutch if you don't wear shoes.
