Can you re caulk the base?
On a typical furnace/boiler, can you tell us how to jumper the controller to run the fuel pump but not run the burner? Thanks
hard to say for yours, but my fuel pump is on the same shaft as the blower motor. if you don't want it to ignite, whatever sends voltage to the electrodes should be eliminated. mine has a black box that has 2 springs that touch the electrodes. i would just have to open that and it would remove the electrodes from the circuit because the springs are no longer touching the electrodes. be mindful if everything is working properly, you're going to be spraying fuel into the combustion chamber unless you have the bleeder open.
thanks but i'm talking about when Steve goes to the Honeywell(?) controller and applies a small alligator clip between 2 screws. what exactly is he shorting out? (This is done to run the pump to bleed the fuel line [after servicing] to get rid of air.)@@wgeisweit
I believe he is bypassing the device that senses the flame is on. th to tc I think. Cad cell device.
@@allhoursmaintenance3022thanks for that. Makes sense. I'll have to look at a schematic. (Wish he would make a video on just this!) Edit: just checked - I think he jumpers F to F which tells the controller the CAD cell senses light. If the cell senses light then ok to keep pumping fuel. Not 100% sure though. 🤔 0:26
Rip and tear mama😂😂
HELLO STEVE IM A ELECTRICIAN BUT I LOVE UR VIDEOES. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MISSED UR GREAT VIDEOES
Chopping the tiles with a pair of channel locks & philips head screwdriver, Steve you are a savage!
This is when a leak can end up causing a person a fortune to get rid of it.
Steve maybe you have it already you should carry a thermal camera and moisture meter it will help to quickly pinpoint the problem saves a lot of time.
u jus destroyed that poor mans house.... some kilz on ceiling, white or clear bathtub silicone with 7x adhesion strength and regrout and reseal if missing grouts and tell em keep you updated...
I had same problem but I put a shower curtain all the way around my walls as to direct the water directly to the drain to eliminate the grout leaking. It didn't leak so I knew it was tile/grout causing leak. However I have a tub with tiled walls
I lived in some apartments with 360* curtains. Too scared to see what was behind the curtain!
I do the exact same thing but it is so I don't have to clean the tiles. I just throw away the old curtains, clean the pan and tape up new vinyl curtains. I don't even cut holes for the two valve handles, there's enough slack for me to use them without holes.
Dude do urself a huge favor and get a good flashlight 🔦
Well, you could have tried caulking that seam, looked like it was settled there in that corner and at least bought him some time!!
That’s what I would have done.
That guy from Indiana is learning how things are done in New England! What a hack refurb. Good thing he came across Steve to set him in the right direction.
We for sure lack Midwestern values. The people I work with in IN are genuinely nice.
Your not saving people money your doing your flipping job.
The tile around that drain was hideous. Unbelievable.
Especially for tiles that small
Looks just fine to me...also...none of your fucking business?
@@RFSpartan You must be the hack who set the tile. 😂😂😂
My tenants tub/showers drain was a galvanized and it wasn’t a properly pitched. When I gutted the area there was still water in the pipe. 2 inch galvanized reduced to 1 inch inside. 🤯🤯
Those jobs can be a nightmare. Thanks Steven!
Home Depot N95
Experienced home inspectors are sometimes worth their weight..."Look before you leap!"
Ever worry about asbestos when you're tearing things apart?
happy homeowner repair w/several layer of drywall compound in between
Those mudset bases can ruin houses if not done right
This poor bastard just moves in, finds what he thinks is a minor leak..... now needs total bathroom gut, total lower level ceiling redo with possible asbestos remediation and God knows what else they'll find ........Ching, Ching,Ching.........$20,000 !!😮😮
The entire house needs to be torn down and rebuilt to fix that leak lol
If he had a "home inspection" or the seller had one done, this new homeowner has a claim against them for failing to fill that shower pan with an inch or two of water and checking for leaks.
Most of them do that check as soon as they get there, plug the drain, fill the pan and wait while they check the rest of the house. Also, if there is evidence of leaks it's likely known by the seller. If that ceiling was just painted to sell it, that would have hidden the prior water stains so now the seller can be responsible for not disclosing this. Could be the buyer was told it leaked and he bought it that way but if not, it seems that in just 8 weeks and being occupied before him it was leaking. Home insurance damage claim...maybe except for the cause. His insurance might have an opinion about it being new or old leak too.
I swear this guy drives in the middle of the road.
Looking at the valve and then the drain, of course the pan was shit. They probably did it before the sale, or never used it. Home inspectors work for the realtors, but the buyer pays them- make the deal go through. Better to pay extra for an electrician and a plumber to do the inspections. Time to LWYRUP, guy!
Caulk it , grout it. Call it done.
Steven, you should of walked in there with a tablet. lol
This happened to me, except the upstairs bathroom was in another unit. Her bathtub was improperly installed (no permit) and was slowly leaking onto the ceiling of my bathroom. it costed $17k to repair everything. Lucky I was insured.
I think this was a cheap remodel to make the bathroom look "updated" to help sell the house. Hack job with eye appeal.
Picking and choosing. Steve
I’m an electrician in MA seeing that ceiling gives me nightmares. What an absolute fucking mess it is dealing with lathe and blown in insulation.
They didn’t install the shower sealant that goes under the tub…. Just bought the house!!!…. He bought a flip
So sick of the struggle kudus to you Steve for doing this so long man.
Not often we see hide and go seek with a leak.
Should have written, "Steve was here" on the ceiling. Awesome!!
That pan looks flat. He can try caulking all around the pan real good to prevent the splashed water from flowing under the tile.
What a nightmare.
Miss molly looking very stylish today … you should wear a mask that dust no good for you mama
Asbestos? Or no
At least the owner has details
I hope he has money ! 😅
Not any more, he spent it all on the house. @@PianoRevisited
Another issue I see is they have that rack with all that weight hanging on the shower arm. And they probably pull on it getting the bottles out. Once it rusts inside the wall the weight will expedite a leak.
Hello Steve!
On A Fishing Trip!!!! A Real Mess!!!
You do save people money. Very hard to find people with your experience and willingness to work hard. Good job.
Totally agree, they don't know how lucky they are, Steven fixes everything
Right on. Joe Homeowner knows exactly what is wrong, with the evidence in daylight. Steve saved him a boatload of money.
try some nice caulk first, could save ya 3k, worth a try
Probably coming from where the dumbass attached the shower door enclosure, drove screws into the curb, through the pan, now when the water hits it, it all seeps through and down.
👍👍👍👍
cant fix them all the sooner you know that the better off you will be
I love this guy
Anyone else think this video is one of their all time favorites ?
This video reminded me of the movie Money Pit lol.
wow mamma. Time to call re bath. Great diagnosis.
He just bought the house? Wonder if had a home inspection?
Dont matter in today's world, if he wouldn't have bought it, somebody else would have
Maybe not and if so, its all on the buyer. If there was one, he may have negotiated a price cut on the purchase price. If there was one and they missed it, now the home inspector has some liability.
Were you able to see the toilet drain 😢
Yikes!!!
Make it quick and to the point Steve, he got screwed on a bad shower remodel! Great video though 👌 👏 👍 💥💯💢
Howdy Steve and Molly
Damn I would have walked away when I saw lath.
Hey Steve Lav, "What a shit show"! Is right ✅️ oh yeah mama, ripin n tearin time, rips open ceiling and leaves the guy with a bill.
Steve, that looked like asbestos insulation. Nasty stuff! Be safe. Love your channel.
Looks like blown-in cellulose to me.
Good to hear. Looked sketchy.
Hi steve
You and Miss Molly Shouda High Tailed Outta There!!! Shit Show UK
That sucks big dollars for that fix
Steve ya gotta get an oscillating multi tool to cut out that tile makes quick work. What a mess mama lath plaster and cellulose insulation, ya gotta know when to kick the cann down da road mama. That lath plaster now has to be tested for asbestos and dealt with. Pats to Miss Molly and to better days Steve.
You really need a diamond tip wheel to cut tile easy. Then the dude can silicone caulk the shit out of all the corners and top of pan. Fuck it around drain too. It wont leak through tile. To the trolls..ceiling had to be opened to repair it right anyway.
I think so or one of those Milwaukee 12v hackzall as they use small blades that will get in there and bang on what needs cut vs. other things.
Nice
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again ya’ll. 👍👍Its a leaker mama!
