    Can you re caulk the base?

    On a typical furnace/boiler, can you tell us how to jumper the controller to run the fuel pump but not run the burner? Thanks

    • @wgeisweit
      @wgeisweit Год назад +1

      hard to say for yours, but my fuel pump is on the same shaft as the blower motor. if you don't want it to ignite, whatever sends voltage to the electrodes should be eliminated. mine has a black box that has 2 springs that touch the electrodes. i would just have to open that and it would remove the electrodes from the circuit because the springs are no longer touching the electrodes. be mindful if everything is working properly, you're going to be spraying fuel into the combustion chamber unless you have the bleeder open.

    • @rret6885
      @rret6885 Год назад +2

      thanks but i'm talking about when Steve goes to the Honeywell(?) controller and applies a small alligator clip between 2 screws. what exactly is he shorting out? (This is done to run the pump to bleed the fuel line [after servicing] to get rid of air.)@@wgeisweit

      I believe he is bypassing the device that senses the flame is on. th to tc I think. Cad cell device.

    • @rret6885
      @rret6885 Год назад +2

      @@allhoursmaintenance3022thanks for that. Makes sense. I'll have to look at a schematic. (Wish he would make a video on just this!) Edit: just checked - I think he jumpers F to F which tells the controller the CAD cell senses light. If the cell senses light then ok to keep pumping fuel. Not 100% sure though. 🤔 0:26

    I had same problem but I put a shower curtain all the way around my walls as to direct the water directly to the drain to eliminate the grout leaking. It didn't leak so I knew it was tile/grout causing leak. However I have a tub with tiled walls

      @DAS-Videos Год назад +1

      I do the exact same thing but it is so I don't have to clean the tiles. I just throw away the old curtains, clean the pan and tape up new vinyl curtains. I don't even cut holes for the two valve handles, there's enough slack for me to use them without holes.

      The entire house needs to be torn down and rebuilt to fix that leak lol

  • @Garth2011
    @Garth2011 Год назад

    If he had a "home inspection" or the seller had one done, this new homeowner has a claim against them for failing to fill that shower pan with an inch or two of water and checking for leaks.
    Most of them do that check as soon as they get there, plug the drain, fill the pan and wait while they check the rest of the house. Also, if there is evidence of leaks it's likely known by the seller. If that ceiling was just painted to sell it, that would have hidden the prior water stains so now the seller can be responsible for not disclosing this. Could be the buyer was told it leaked and he bought it that way but if not, it seems that in just 8 weeks and being occupied before him it was leaking. Home insurance damage claim...maybe except for the cause. His insurance might have an opinion about it being new or old leak too.

  • @johns.4708
    @johns.4708 Год назад +1

    Looking at the valve and then the drain, of course the pan was shit. They probably did it before the sale, or never used it. Home inspectors work for the realtors, but the buyer pays them- make the deal go through. Better to pay extra for an electrician and a plumber to do the inspections. Time to LWYRUP, guy!

    Another issue I see is they have that rack with all that weight hanging on the shower arm. And they probably pull on it getting the bottles out. Once it rusts inside the wall the weight will expedite a leak.
