Lots of deferred maintenance in this place. May as well do all the bathromms, showers, tubs and kitchen fixtures. All old stuff, corroded etc. Those faucets in the bath don't flow worth a hoot, replace them too. Hard to believe but new toilets aren't all that expensive and they come with everything you need to put one in...
Who else went for their shower head after this and discovered the bastard O-ring too? Thank you Steve, your a lifesaver, my shower feels so much better with the proper flow. 😀
Congratulations on the new truck! I hope it's a good one. I did a toilet swap at my workplace; the owner was a cheapskate and it came out of his house. I got a hold of stainless steel tank to bowl bolts from somewhere; I can't remember where though. Six months later he sold the place and the owner swapped the toilet out in a remodel. They trashed it before I could scavenge the bolts out.

Oooh, was half expecting a disaster, and so glad it didn't happen! Years ago, I was fixing a friend's toilet, and good thing I had the water off first, because the fill valve broke off the nipple when I tightened it by hand; that's how crusty it was. I had to turn out and replace the nipple as well as the fill valve. I think I've seen brass bolts at Home Depot; should probably pick some up just to have, so thanks for that tip.
Nut and bolt stores will have them but not all brass is real brass alloys of the times. Some of them are CHINA brass...no good. A good plumbing supply should have them too but I understand...even they aren't stocking the good stuff as much.
Glad to see you back on the job Steve! Great video as always. What was the name of that tool you used to extract that broken piece on the shower? Might be my next purchase from Supply House!
Steve what do you charge do you do 100 per hr. Or do charge by the job me I always end up screwing myself thinking I can do the job faster than I can I been doing plumbing for 35 years I am older but think I work smarter than I use to but the body doesn’t work like it use too ,,if you could answer me I would appreciate it thank you and love watching your videos
They make those nuts and bolts such that they rust fast. I saw mine, that I changed 6 months ago, rusting so I covered the bolt heads in silicone to try and slow the rusting. The silicone should peel off easy enough when they need changing again.
Steve can you let me know the brand of that extractor you used in the shower and what size it is cuz I want to buy one right away thanks. Peace brother and Molly
Pliers to remove chrome aerator?? I give Steve a pass on this one because strap wrench will not fit. I also do have plastic covers that go over my pliers that protect the chrome.

Why not replace the toilet since it’s half apart already? Why not remodel the bathroom if the toilet it out and shower is broken. Where do you stop? He made the right call provided they declined a new toilet.
@@stevenlavimoniere Just wondering Steve. After watching you and Molly, It's obvious HVAC was your bread and butter. Your videos are a prime example of this. Toilets are boring and won't do much for your RUclips channel, not that I care.
Rick, in most cases I think you would have a valid point. However we don't know the full circumstances here, the customer may have wanted Steve to do a minimum to keep costs down. Or maybe because of the mold he just wanted to do a minimum and get out of there.

Two broken toilets and a "crusty" shower. Was this guy in a Coma for the last ten years? A new toilet shutoff valve and a new hose would have been nice and I see no chance anyone is going to clean under that toilet!!! Otherwise it was an enjoyable video . LoL.

Did I hear a leaky O ring at the end of the video? "See that, can't touch it...brrappp"
Damn owning a house and don’t know where the main shut off is? That’s bad! You gotta be a little handy if you own a house or be a millionaire.

Are brass toilet bolts better than the stainless steel ones in the repair kit?
The bigger question is...are those stainless steel bolts really good stainless steet or CHINESIUM.
I usually just replace the stem assembly on those brasscraft valves with the one out the new valve
Maybe Miss Mollie isn't used to the new truck, yet. Great video, as usual.
smart on the cracked turlet leaving it alone

Joe Biden put that O-ring in there Steve I don't think you wanna remove it
How about selling them a new modern toilet?

Why do that when the valve is still good and it'd take more time for him to replace the valve, and cost the customer more money?
