Wow. Lots of things I remember, but working block instruments, a drive on rail car tranporter, a drive on car ferry and drive through restaurants. Where are they today?
Martin in the comments here wondered if they were a precursor for scalextric, and I would think that's a reasonable assumption, perhaps they thought if we make them bigger, we've got another toy range, but yes, they could of carried on with them, I think they could of brought them along in technology etc just the same as the trains have
Minic Motorways later in 1962 give or take a year for each. Minic being 1/76 th scale and Scalextric 1/30 th approximately to start with, the Minic cars needed a much smaller motor to be developed. I have seen most of the Minic Motorways items on a vintage Triang exhibition layout in Melbourne Australia. Including the very rare car ferry made working. A few vids on RUclips of the layout.
