Hers the original video of Heat Beacon Weber Kettle Accessories…..
I too have a Heat Beacon Designs Basket and Diffusor in my 22inch SNS Kettle and it works like a charm. Have loaded it with a 100+ briquets and got 10 1/2 hours of 225 temps before dropping off. Did a wonderful job on Turkey, Pork Butt and Brisket. I have replaced my WSM-22 with a kettle and this accessory. Great product and Ned was awesome in answering questions and providing support.
Thanks for Watching Ted! Appreciate the feedback
Happy to see you using a Weber kettle again. They are my favorite videos.
Thanks for watching Bill!
Tom!!! Just ordered - USA made and steel/stainless. Thank you for keeping us up to date on all the new accessories.
Thanks for Watching Edward! Enjoy!
There was no diffuser plate available for the 26". Thanks Tom as this guy makes 22" and 26" rings and plates.
Thanks for watching Paul!
All my life I watched my dad make the best turkey ever on the Weber. 20 pound bird salt pepper paprika…. 25 briquettes on each side 8 briquettes every hour. All this fancy crap is Killin me. Love your channel Tom just venting
Thanks for Watching Thomas! Appreciate the feedback
People put "fancy crap" on the grills for the same reason people modify Camaros or Mustangs...sure, you can drag race and win in stock form, but you can do it a lot better and faster/easier with a modified one...🤷🏾♂️
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback
WOW,,,LOVE IT,,, FINELY a Classic Weber in use...
Thanks for Watching Colin!
Hey Tom! You gotta love someone who takes the time to put out a product that helps Up the game of the average backyard Joe.
It may not be Heavy Metal......but as You called it "mild steel"......it will still give the user the ability to utilize all the area of the kettle,
not just the basic one sided offset set up. 👍 And.......it's at a reasonable price. Sure a large pizza pan could have the same effect,
but hey,....gotta give it to this fellow. 👍 I do like those clips. 👍 Metal On!!! \🔥/
Thanks for Watching Kent! He brews beer during the day and build kettle accessories in his garage at night! Gotta love that!
I started cooking Low & Slow on a Weber kettle a little over a year ago. Initially just did snake-method, but quickly bought a BBQ Dragon diffuser and honestly, used it happily, multiple times a week, for almost a year. Though I was always worried about durability of ceramic plate over hot coals. I always babies it, kept it cleaned and dry. But when I went to remove it from my recent cook of short ribs, after it cooled of course, I found that it had split right across the middle.
I’ll be buying this stainless steel one from Heat Beacon Designs this week - and will feel much less worried about its durability.
Thanks for the excellent review! You always do such great, straight talking, information sharing.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback and support! Enjoy!
I’ve had my heat beacon diffuser plate for a couple of months and have had a very good experience with it. Great product. Much simpler to use and regulate than the smokinator, which i still think is a terrific product too.
Can this hold temps at 275-325 ok? Is there space for a drip pan as well? Thanks
@Weberkettlebbq Thanks for watching! Yes
Order the master touch and get the low and slow accessory once the grill comes in send the grill back and tell them you want to keep the low and slow. Works great 😊
Thanks for watching
This made me gigle! Lol
Thanks for Watching
Looks like a perfect design for your cook Tom. High quality too. You always find the good stuff!!
Thanks for Watching Rob!
The tabs on the top of the charcoal basket are a great idea!
Thanks for watching Jim! Yes it is
Love my heatbeacon deflector. It fits great in my Weber Smokey mountain 22.5.
Thanks for watching
Nice job, keep it up with all the innovations
Thanks for Watching Jake! Appreciate the support!
I just bought one of these diffusers with the stainless diffuser plate option (thanks to your video) Can't wait to try it out!
Thanks for Watching! Enjoy!
Nice accessory. I would like one. Great video Tom.
Thanks for Watching Todd!
I bought the Stainless side shelf he makes for the weber kettle, you did a video on year or so ago .Excellent product really happy with it
Thanks for Watching Christopher! You are correct!
Nice review Tom. That turkey looks great too! 🙂
Thank you! Appreciate you watching John!
That's a Winner Tom. Simple but perfect. I see he has many more items, a bottom tray similar to 70th anniversary edition kettles. I hope he watches your review. There was a internal ash pan, called the handy ash pan, that is what's needed on the kettle for long cooks to keep ash built up away from vents.
Thanks for Watching John! I appreciate the feedback!
We need one for the SNS Travel Kettle!
Thanks for watching! Agreed!
Thank you again sir!!!!!! Great video!!!!!!!
Thanks for Watching George!
A better idea might be to have the plate mounted under the cooking grate, with a 1" clearance. That would remove the need for the deflector ring. It would also allow you to turn the cooking grate upside down and use the deflection plate as a cooking surface.
Thanks for Watching Steven! Good idea!
Just ordered mine today! Great review Tom!
Thanks for Watching! Congrats!
ok, finished the video and subscribed. nice review and cook.
Thanks again! Appreciate you Watching
Weber has them available now!
Thanks for Watching!
it looks like there is enough room between the grate and the diffuser for a drip pan 👍👍
Thanks for watching! Yes there is as I showed in the video
Thanks for the review, I just got a Weber Premium Kettle and was wondering if these plates worked and may purchase one after watching your video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for Watching Mitch!
Great review Tom! I like the charcoal basket. I’m gonna check out that website but honestly I think I have already sent him an email when you first mentioned his products. I’m really disappointed that Weber doesn’t produce any of these great accessories. I guess it opens the market for other entrepreneurs. Thanks for sharing Tom.
Thanks for Watching Jay!
I think Weber stopped selling these because you can transform really easily their 22" kettle into a smoker which will compete with their other smoker products they sell.
I am using the "only fire Barbecue Cooking Grate System for 22" Weber Kettle Grill" and I can fit more fuel as I can use the complete bottom grate since there are no ring. The ceramic delector also heats up (like a komado) which in turn keeps the heat and lower the fuel needs. 15+ hours of smoking is now possible without refuelling at all, and no turning of the meat as heat comes evenly on all sides.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback
The best diffuser is the Performer's double walled air-insulated plate. Too bad you can't buy it separately.
Thanks for watching Shane! I agree
btw looks like Skyflame is back up! Both look like solid options.
Thanks for Watching! Good to know
Thanks Tom everything I bought from Ned is worst the money well made!
Thanks for watching Jim!
Nice review Tom. This one should replace the pizza pans...
Thanks for watching! Yes it will
Great review! At @1:59 on your iPad, you can see the ad in the top middle about "only fire Barbecue Cooking Grate System for 22" Weber Kettle Grill" and I was wondering if you could do a review about that item for the Weber kettle. I am waiting for mine to arrive, but would like an non-bias review about it.
Thanks for watching! I haven’t gotten that one yet, but that’s a good idea
I’m onto it , gonna make my own with a 3 mm stainless plate under double pizza pans and the ring will be rolled and welded 10 mm perforated 304 stainless 1.8 mm 120 mm high 1068 mm circumference
Thanks for watching Steve! Awesome!
Hey Tom, your videos are the best. At this point, would you recommend the sky flame or the heat beacon? Thanks!!
Thanks for Watching Brad! Heat Beacon
Napoleon makes a ring and deflector plate that’s sold separately
Thanks for Watching Mark!
Looks like the Weber one, but their website doesn’t give the dimensions
Also, heat beacon is $10 cheaper Lol
@@HaotheEnd And it's for a beer meister.
I'm 1:39 in and confused you said a couple "stainless pans" but the said it "burnt through the aluminum"? nevermind I re watched, you said stainless hardware lol. still with you.
Good to know Jefferson! Thanks for Watching
good luck 🌹
I would be interested to see if that could be used as a Griddle accessory
Thanks for Watching Jason! Not really designed for that
Great video, have you seen the Santa Maria accessory for the Weber kettles?
Thanks for watching Brent! Yes I have, pretty darn cool
Did you ad that hinge to the weber? I have a performer id like to add it too.
Thanks for Watching! To the green one yes
I ordered mine Sunday 5/15. I plan on using these with the Inkbird BBQ Temperature Controller ISC-007BW arriving Friday! I emailed Ned to see about expediting delivery but no word yet. I find I do a lot more BBQing and smoking than grilling. Thinking this will really step up my ribs, pork shoulder, chicken, turkey and maybe a brisket [gulp].
I would really love a way to adjust grill height for the kettle. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thanks for Watching! There are clips to raise the height but they are sold with other systems not a stand alone product
Where can I find the c!IPS used to raise the cooking grate? I constructed my own charcoal ring and heat diffuser, but don't have room for a water drip pan. If I'm cooking ribs, for example, with a fair amount of sugar in the rub, the drippings land directly on my heat diffuser and then scorch, affecting the flavor of whatever I'm cooking. Those clips look like a perfect solution to my problem. Thanks for your response.
Thanks for watching Clem they came with the one I got off of Amazon however it’s not available anymore. I don’t know anyone who sells just the clips.. wouldn’t be that hard to make
Tom, you may have covered this but what is the height difference for the ring on this one vs Skyflame?
Thanks for watching John! I don’t know, I gavel e of them away, you can check the websites for both to find out
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ ok will do. I love the videos you and your son put out, they are a must watch.
Appreciate you watching!

How mutch heat can you have? Think if you can do pizza?
Thanks for Watching! Haven’t tried a pizza yet
Nice
Thanks for watching Dan!
Thank you for sharing your video I just bought a Weber performer deluxe and I was actually looking for a diffuser plate for it found that heat beacon website then came across your video those four small brackets that you said that raises your grate do you know where I can get some of those
Thanks for Watching Becky! I do not, ask heat beacon
Wow! I believe they are looking for the clips only, which isn’t available from sky flame, infact at the time the sky flame was sold out not available. I stated to ask heat beacon because there was a better chance at him making a selling individually. Go ahead and call it a loser move for me trying to help someone out. Geeez
Tom, at 00:52, the grill has some brackets to raise the cooking grate. Where can I get a set of them?
Thanks for watching Harry! I believe they came from Onlyfire with a pizza / rotisserie kit I bought, not sure if they are sold separately
I really wonder if there are any alternatives for us European guys other then the Napoleon one...
Thanks for watching! Don’t know
The issue I have with the diffuser is how will you add charcoal on a long slow cook say 8-12 hours? You'd have to unload everything to add charcoal
Thanks for Watching Alan! It’s no different than any other diffuser
I've seen a diffuser that is "notched" out and allows you to use the slow n sear or other similar baskets
Which one? Ive made one that is ceramic, but still not the same
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I understand its not the same and don't know the brand but it would allow the ability to add coals to your basket for long burns.
Think he’s talking about the BBQ Dragon diffuser
Could you use something like this to do a long cook like a butt ir brisket with out haveing to add fuel. Seems like it might be cumbersome if uf you have to add fuel for longer cooks
Thanks for watching Stacy! I believe depending on fuel choice you could get 10-12 hrs out of it
Still don't understand why weber setting the diffuser and smoke ring. I'll probably get something like a side table. I can't seem to find a boneless turkey roast anymore
Thanks for watching! The turkey roasts were gone for while here in SE Wisconsin but have recently returned
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I'm in Tennessee just across the Mississippi State line. I'll have to see if that one is around again. I think they sell something similar at whole foods. About to check Walmart's website now
That was a good bit there Tom ….
Thanks for Watching Steve!
I've wondered if using a metal deflector actually creates more heat underneath the meat. I wonder if using a similar sized pizza stone would be a better deflector and provide less radiant heat underneath the meat for more even cooking. What do you think?
Thanks for watching Leonard! Once heated up the stone will radiate as much as the steel plate. They both work just fine. Some stones based on thickness will provide more thermal mass making recovery faster when opening and closing the lid, especially in colder climates
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Any source for those riser clips?
Try looking on Amazon
When are you getting an Akorn auto? Can’t wait.
Thanks for Watching! Soon!
You think you could use the rotisserie from Webber to create the gap or would that be to high? I think I may be running to high because the bottom of my protein gets really cooked. I've place a water tray like you but it still over cooks it. Just wondering about this.
I like the product and I think it works great just trying to find a way to get better spacing between the heat and the food.
Thanks for Watching! You could try a rotisserie
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ well I don't want to rotate the protein just create space between the heat and the food. I hope that makes sense.
Hey Tom,
I have held off on the master touch with the hinge because of so many negative reports on it. Costco has knocked down the price and it looks like they may be redesigning it. There are several RUclips videos of owners swapping the spring direction around to improve the lid fit. Do you have any thoughts on how well the lid on your copy fits?
Thanks for Watching Jeremy! My lid is fine,,, I did put some high heat gasket on the lid which seals it up pretty nice.
Would you recommend this or the Weber heat controller, I’m torn between the two
I wonder if that could be used as a flat top?
Thanks for Watching Ralph,,,, mild steel not really meant for high heat
Does that deflector plate give you more cooking space to do low and slow? or would you still have to bank you charcoal to one side to do a low and slow in the charcoal basket?
Thanks for watching! It gives more room
Thanks for watching! It gives more room
Have you cooked at higher heats? Any warping at all? Thanks
Thanks for watching! I haven’t
Tom, now that you have used both, do you like this one from Beacon or the Sky Flame one more? I understand the latter is back ordered but curious, availability aside, what's your favorite?
Thanks for Watching! They both will work just fine… I’ll lean toward the Made in the USA product since there are so few
The sky flame is back in stick at Amazon but with a ceramic baffle I wish they would make the steel one availible again
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback
Is it possible to get ambient temps around 225 with this?
Thanks for watching Brian! Yes
Could you use this with the aura kettle zone?
Thanks for Watching Craig! Not sure what that is
Were your vents open all the way?
Thanks for Watching! Bottom yes
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thank you will try this in two weeks!!
Enjoy!
My favourite brand not that you’d guess 😂
Thanks for Watching!
Here’s the website. www.heatbeacondesigns.com
Boomhauer, is that you?
What types of foods do you cook with this?
Thanks for Watching! Indirect anything, pork butt, ribs, brisket, Chuck roast
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ wonder how it would cook with burgers
If your thinking as a griddle, I wouldn’t recommend it for that
Let's see what else Ned makes.... 🤣😂🤣
Thanks for Watching John!
Will you come to my house and clean my grills for me?😁
Thanks for Watching! Lol
