🦭Islas Galápagos 2022 _ Ecuador Part II _ the full Zoo experience 🦭

Part two of our Ecuador trip to the Galapagos Islands, one of the most amazing nature reserves we have seen so far. In addition to the obligatory Lizards, Penguins and Sea Lions, we were also able to snorkel with reef sharks and watch whales. We hopped the Islands San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz and Isabela mostly with tiny planes and Bartalomé without a landing strip with a sailboat. The islands were a zoological wonderland and we were either hiking Volcanoes or snorkeling at the countless reefs. In case you are wondering who’s with us: on every Island you need a personal Guide of the National Park to hike with you. In other parts of the archipelago, like Bartalomé, you’ll have to prebook your tour about half a year in advance to get a spot. If you just make it on a touristic cruise ship or a vintage Ketch sail boat like us is depending on luck, not reservations :-) To put it in context, all animals are free in Galapagos but do not see humans as predators. Young sea lions always wanted to play with us or with our gear while we were snorkeling, birds and penguins are not very shy. Snorkeling in the lava channel with sharks did however require some mental effort, but see for yourself....
