Thank you for a great video. The notebook and pen holder is a truly beautiful item which is made even better by the sound of the creaking leather. All the best 👍🇦🇺
Man I'm so jealous of everyone that can afford this stuff. Me personally I can't, obviously it's gonna be expensive it's hand made leather stuff so duh. Keep up the great work.
When you are working on your edges, I’ve seen you use Black Tokonole and sometimes instead you’ll use your Brown acrylic marker, some even follow that with clear tokonole, is there a reason you prefer one over the other? Sometimes I want a nice smooth black edge so I wonder which is better , black marker followed by clear tokonole or just using black tokonole from the rip, would love your input.
Hello Ryan, your work is absolutely amazing man. I’m new to leather Craft, I have been watching your videos, and Parker’s from Stock and barrel. I have learned so much from you guys. Keep up the amazing work.... Many blessings my friend !
Really love it... Can you please make a video on which type of leather is suitable for which projects, and explain more about those leather from where it is produced
OMG, My bad, i have seen this video before but it seems that i am getting older 🤣🤣... Thanks a lot for the informations you are providing us... God bless you and keep it up
@@LittleKingGoods hmmm sorry to ask, but if you have over used tools or tools you dont use anymore can you donate it to me 🙄, you encouraged and inspired me a lot to pursue leather crafting but these materials are really expensive in the middle east.
Love the workmanship that you put into every piece !!! Really want to learn to sew even a little bit close to your level !!! Any chance you can do a quick tutorial on the actual sewing ?? Also… my Thread Zapper seems no way as quick or powerful as yours. Any chance you had same issues with one or two of them ??? Thanks !!!! Bob from Arizona.
So, using the renia 315, when I burnish my edges the glue rolls out from in between the leather and ruins my edge. Does it do that for you? Or have you figured out a way to stop it from happening?
You could also use trim allowance when making your products. Leave 5mm on all outside edges. Then after gluing your project together, trim off the excess material which will leave a very smooth edge.
I’ve had same problem with fiebings white glue and I think firmly pressing the two surfaces, whether using the roller, or clamping, helps. For me personally I know I need to work on controlling how much glue I am applying, for a more even distribution.
Another great project! Had to send this one to a friend of mine who's been thinking of making something like this for a long time. Can I ask what knife you used to cut the curves near the beginning of the video? Looks like an xacto blade but has a nice big pale wood ergonomic handle. I can also see it on the table in some shots, but can't figure out exactly what it is. Thanks!
Love your work man. I do have a question about leather choice. We have a Glowforge and would like to make some leather bracelets that we can engrave on. When looking on Tandy, what would be the best choice for the type of leather. We know that we need veg tanned, but there are so many choices!! We don't know where to begin.
Beautiful work as always Ryan 👏. Yet another simple and great design. Video is top notch too. A small question, what kind of thread do you use for hand stitching and do you need to wax it?
@Aerdonix thanks, I do use Vinymo MBT 0.55mm. However, it's not really easy to work with when you need to handstitch long seams, works great for smaller projects. I lightly wax it (not that it needs wax) for it to have a better hang and maneuverability.
When I put on ma leather, and rock to sum Metallica, Delta Parole, Foo Fighters or the Smashing Pumpkins I feel like I can do anything in the whole wide world.
Love it! (Except for the horrible RUclips ads suddenly appearing, blaring loud music at me, and making me jump) Gosh, this really makes me miss leatherworking.
Absolutely, handmade is better. However, is it handmade only for the videos ? But you also use a glow forge, clicker press for cutting and machine for stitching. I'd like to understand how is this different from something that's mass produced in a 3rd world country - barring the leather quality, fair trade bit, craftsmanship, etc.
I think materials and craftsmanship are huge things in my opinion. Also methods used in those factories like assembly line style where 20 people are involved in making a product, the quality control or attention to detail is completely lost. Everything crafted at my shop is done by a single craftsman. We give the option of hand or machine stitched. Every single item is inspected for any defect. There’s a lot that’s different. I have friends who have gone the made in China route and have lost their minds when they received their wholesale private label orders.
@@LittleKingGoods Yes, this makes sense. But discounting all overseas businesses/manufacturers is wrong - maybe your friends haven't found the right partners. However, I don't understand the handmade part. In my opinion, handmade does not involve any form of machines. Would love to hear your take on this on a future video, if possible. Don't get me wrong, love your work and brand but the marketing seems misleading or it just could be me.
Templates take a long time to design and create…they also can be frustrating to get correct. That being said the “Bye” comment is very immature for a business to post.
This is my favorite kind of ASMR on RUclips. Not kidding. Also so satusfying to see the quality of the craft.
Lovely!! Thank you for taking the time to make this video & the notebook sleeve. It’s stunning!
This is what i came to this channel for. Please make more like this.
Love, love, love the ASMR vid you put out. So soothing. Well done sir.
Yea I love the sounds of the workshop too 🙌🏼
Your work is praise-worthy, keep making.
Good to see you after a long time

From one leather crafter to another, well done on the design and crafting Ryan! Keep up the good work.
Very nice, craftsmanship is awsome, so slick, one learns a lot just by watching, observing, very precise craftsman
Stoked to help!
Another masterpiece. I enjoye watching your videos.
Finally missed these videos! Really good work!!
Love this. Agree that a Kindle sleeve would be very cool
Nicely gone my friend. Thoroughly love to watch you work. Cheers.

Incredible content :)
Thanks 🙏🏼
Is this for Field notes size?
Way cool, ok my next project!
I have a question about the little adhesive double side strip that you use, did you add a link for that i. The description?
Do you make those pens, as well? I'd love to see a video about them, if so.
Thanks for the quick response. BTW do you have a PDF for the larger journal with the pen loop? Just saw smaller one with the loop.
what kind of leather do you use? and how thick
Not sure of the thickness but this is Appaloosa Horse Leather, sold by Tatra Leather. It's a Vachetta from Tuscany :)
Where did you get those awesome antique shears!?!? 😍
Beautiful leather, what kind is it?
oh my goodness, I love what you're doing. please what is the name of that portable filing machine?
Hello Ryan, what is this white slab/ mat you are using for cutting
It’s called a Rhino Mat.
@@LittleKingGoods thank you
Can this be made to hold a larger booklet?
So dope
🔥🔥
Beautiful work. What size French skiver do you like to use?
Thanks 🙏🏼 it’s a 12mm skiver.
I am ASMR-hearing-impared, but still liked the video!
I have one question if anyone knows what material is used in this video
It’s Leather
Pendleton.....nice t-shirt :)

You could also use trim allowance when making your products. Leave 5mm on all outside edges. Then after gluing your project together, trim off the excess material which will leave a very smooth edge.
take the rubber and walk around the edges, the rubber removes the glue well completely
I do use trim allowance with all of my products, should I maybe reduce or increase the amount of sanding I do?
I’ve had same problem with fiebings white glue and I think firmly pressing the two surfaces, whether using the roller, or clamping, helps. For me personally I know I need to work on controlling how much glue I am applying, for a more even distribution.
Is it real leather you're using?
Beautiful where do you buy the leather from
Bobrikov. Find him on Instagram.
What is the stuff you use in the big markers?
It’s fiebings pro dye.

@@AdamIannazzone thank you for the reply. Much appreciated
Do you use tokonole as an adhesive?
I'm wondering the same. I haven't seen it done before. I'm guessing he uses the container to store glue he has in bulk 🤔
He has his glue in an old tokonole container lol
Hey Ryan. What is the color of the thread you are using for this project? Wonderful work BTW.
Thank you! It’s called Kahki by Vinymo.
They sell it on Etsy. Perfect :D Thank you Ryan!
Can anyone tell me if that is a special double sided tape he is using or if it’s just generic.
Double sided tape from Tandy leather.

What? No laser? I'm shocked.
Anyone else bothered by the fact that he put the sharp corners of the notebook to the rounded corners of the sleeve?
He’s protecting the spine, and round corners (on leather) are better than square because the stress is distributed more evenly. 🤓
