Just to clarify, Marriage is not the only way to be sanctified neither is the process of sanctification lessened by being single. All who are saved, man or woman, married or single are being sanctified. The teaching here in my video is that through loving and forgiving each other like Jesus did we are made more like Him. The two greatest commands is to love God and love people, which can be difficult at times especially as we as humans are so complex. And in this instance I’m referencing it to marriage. Every person from the moment they are called to salvation is being sanctified and being taught to learn love and compassion etc wether it’s through navigating difficulty through suffering, sickness, friendships, colleagues etc it’s just in this instance Paul Washer was encouraging married couples that God uses their marriage to sanctify them so that they will not be discouraged when they go through difficult seasons within marriage, especially because a convent is made before God which should not be taken lightly when people consider things like divorce. Marriage is not the only method of sanctification but one of many ways. And I believe that any message that pushes sanctification through hardships to the glory of God is scriptural, as marriage at times is hard. I hope you understand the point I’m trying to make 🤎🤎🤎
I keep seeing videos on prepraing for marriage so I know it's from God! Loved what you said about: - having an older woman teaching/mentorship/guidance - imperfection, self awareness, grace - deepest initmacy comes with healthy conflicts. We don't hear that a lot. - marriage, is about service & selflessness thanks!
Really enjoyed this and needed to hear this. Marriagw has been prophecies to simce i was 22 and I'm now 39... kinda losing hope. I want kids and husband so badly, but i keep hearing the Lord say 'seek ye first the kingdom of God and everything shall be added jnto you'. Thanks for reality check done in love.
This is very insightful. Thank you very much for doing this. I look forward to more of your content. In the meantime, ill search for books by Elisabeth Elliott.
I actually need to pray to God to provide me with an older Godly woman I can glean from who is seasoned in marriage. I don't have any such kind of person like this in my life at the moment
Love this Debo! Beautiful ❤ I did have a question on your last point as I’ve always wondered, which scriptures specifically talk about marriage being about refinement as the Holy Spirit does with us individually? I know this is a message the church pushed for a while but if this is so, does that mean single people are less sanctified because they’re not married? I don’t think the work of the Holy Spirit is lessened because someone is not married but perhaps this is my misunderstanding. Because that last quote by Paul Washer assumes you only learn compassion, mercy, patience etc through marriage and I really don’t think this is scriptural. I think you can learn all these things through all sorts of relationships and yes including Romantic ones, God uses all our relationships to teach us to be like Him, not just marriage surely?Sorry for the rambling! Would love to know your thoughts
Hi Christabel thank you for your message! I don’t believe it’s lessened at all in single people and I don’t believe that was the message I was pushing. @@xsoulbeautyx omg thanks for the response! Not at all your fault, your video is awesome full of wisdom, this happens to be something I’ve wondering about for a while and I wanted to get more clarification because sometimes when people speak about this topic it makes marriage sound like scary boot camp, which terrifies this single lady 😂. But i do understand the point about sanctification coming through hardships to the glory of God, and how marriage can be one of those things. Thank you for clarifying ❤
@@christabel_0763 no worries! And don’t be scared haha! Like any relationship it requires a lot of work but it’s beautiful when done with the help of the Holy Spirit. Thank you so much for watching! 🤎🤎🤎
*unrelated comment: I would like to purchase your book but I’m in south africa. Is it possible to get an ebook version delivered via email? Thank you so much
