Men i didn’t start improving until i started researching my condition and learning what was happening to me. I had a total urinary shutdown not once but twice. My doctor never told me once that my condition was
Related to my diet. My first total shutdown following a waffle cone full of delicious black berry ice cream.
My urologist told me i had an enlarged prostate. I asked him what was causing it. He never once told me
That my problem problem had anything to do with my diet. After the second total
Shutdown of my system less than six months later i decided to learn as much as i could. My doctor advised me to have surgery. He said surgery was my only option. I did not want to go through surgery so i decided i would try something else. I stopped drinking beer. I stopped eating
Cheese. I stopped drinking milk or eating
Butter. I stopped eating cakes which i was certainly addicted to. I stopped eating sandwiches. I started eating salads, pumpkin seeds, salmon, chicken and sweet potatoes. I eat fruits and vegetables.
After months of improving i am of the impression that prostate problems are
Related to a zinc deficiency. Now i eat foods that contain zinc. I am not cured yet but i feel that i am moving in the right direction. Never dreamed sugar was harmful to me. I am much better now and believe i know how to maintain good health.
Started exercising. Learned a few techniques to make urination possible without pushing and straining.

Then my world changed for the better when i saw a RUclips video of an Indian guy talking about his dads bladder problems and the use of pumpkin seeds.
It took about 10 days eating pumpkin seeds for the urge and freqency to urinate to subside. Absolutely fantastic.
Its been great for over one year now. I would add that when i istarted to stop eating the pumpkin seeds my problem reoccurred. So back on the pumpkin seeds and back to normal. 🎉

For 25+ years five different Urologist told me I had an enlarged prostate, and the resulting BPH symptoms. They treated my with drugs and a horribly painful microwave procedure. They never actually measured my prostate in any way to verify its size. Recently, very good Urologists at "The Ohio State University" actually measured my prostate with a CT scan. I was shocked to learn my prostate was not actually enlarged. I have overactive bladder issues. Sometimes you can't trust doctors.

I'm not surprised. I'm so sorry to hear that you went through all that. People are learning these days that so many procedures are performed for the money. People forget that the medical industry is first a business, and a business needs a steady flow of income to stay in business, just like any other business. People, I'm afraid, are just ignorant about this. There are many simple and natural lifestyles that were being kept in the dark about to keep us ill. The intake of large amounts of sugar is probably the biggest mistake were doing. All plants contain glucose, fructose and sucrose. Check a botany text. I'm not saying not to eat veggies, but our digestive system is created to eat a balance with animal protein. Make sure you cook them veggies well. That's why ruminants, like cows, have multiple stomachs to digest vegetation. It's extremely hard to break down. That's why when you eat a salad, you'll often find some of your salad not broken down in the toilet, and veggies that aren't broken down will tear into the sensitive lining of your intestines. In these days, we're being pushed to eat vegan. If you eat vegan, you'll be taking in sugar 100% of the time. As for grains, we can't eat them unless they're processed. We can't eat them in a natural state. We don't have the flat grinding teeth needed that most herbivores have. Think about it. The logic is quite simple.

I got the Amumu juicer from Amazon because I didn’t want to spend $500+ . Here is what I juice weekly into a half gallon jug:
    Half of red cabbage
    2 cups of watermelon
    3-4 tomatoes
    3 Beets
    1 Lemon
    4 honey crisp apples
    Small nug of ginger
    Half bag of baby carrots
You can alter yours to include more lycopene rich foods. I started having 1 cup every other day first thing in the morning before my cup of coffee. And honestly, I’m shocked at the improvement.

I reduced symptoms by limiting sugar and dairy intake, eating more almonds and pumpkin seeds, drinking more green tea and doing intermittent fasting during the week.
I never get up at night any more. Usually I felt the urge as soon as I was in bed and literally getting out 5 times to squeeze out a drop. That's gone too.

It is bad to eat just the whites or just the yellows on their own there are different components that cancel each other out when eaten together. The yolk contains 100% of the carotenoids, essential fatty acids like omega-3 fatty acid DHA and omega-6 fatty acid arachidonic acids. If you consider the acid on its own and with nothing else it is possible to draw the wrong conclusions. Olive oil for eg has omega 6 yet it also has anti inflammatory properties despite having omega 6 which can cause inflammation. I changed my life moving to 6 eggs a day and don't need drugs anymore.

Referencing the point you made at the beginning about men who don't try to take care of themselves, once again I seem to be in the minority of my demographic. I'm actively looking for ways to address my BPH with out surgery. A year ago I had prostatic artery embolization (restricts blood flow to the prostate). At the beginning of this year (2023) I switched from a low fat/high carb diet to a high fat/low carb diet. The most immediate effect of that change is I've lost a lot of weight (which I needed to do) and am backing away from a pre-diabetic condition.
The immediate effect on my prostate was that my symptoms got worse. But I expected that. Prostates are temperamental beasts and don't want anything about their environment to change. In my case, I had four months of gradual improvement through the end of July 2022. I plateaued the first two weeks of August 2022, then my symptoms started coming back.
I've done a bit of research. In the first 1-3 years, PAE is effective in about 82% of patients. 5-6 years out, it's, I forget exactly, 75% or 76% effective.
In the last month or so I'm seeing results from the nutritional approach. Last Saturday (April 16, 2023) I went shopping at Trader Joe's, then Aldi, then Dollar Tree, and only realized later that I hadn't needed to pee, or ever thought about peeing, until I got home a bit over 2 hrs later. At the start of 2023, I'd have had to use the bathroom at TJ, use it again at Aldi, and then find a store with a bathroom near DT. Or sneak out behind their dumpsters.
Why does PAE fail? Probably, the prostate is recruiting an existing minor blood vessel to bulk up and supply more blood; PAE doesn't block off all of the organ's blood, just restricts it. But if there's one thing an enlarged prostate knows how to do, it's recruit more blood flow.
With the nutritional approach, I've taken away most of its glucose, and there's much less insulin in my blood inducing it to grow. So far it doesn't have a work-around for that. However, it could be that having undergone PAE first, I'm getting results faster with my dietary changes than I would be without it.

I attended a prostrate seminar around the year 2000 since I had and have low stream. One presenter said the nation with the least amount of prostrate cancer was China. I asked from what the Chinese were dying. The presenter said stomach cancer!
The seminar also made the point that most men die with prostrate cancer - not from it. Autopsies show that the precursor to prostate cancer can begin as early as a male in their teens.
These are the points that stood out to me that I can remember.

I stopped all finasteride for several years, but eventually my hair loss was really bothering me so I started fin again, now taking 1 mg three times a week in a ten weeks on, two weeks off schedule. It's at least not making the ejaculation thing worse, and my hair stopped falling out, so that's good. I'd recommend the 1 mg three times a week, ten weeks on two weeks off protocol for anyone using finasteride for hair loss. I've never heard of anyone using 10 mg/day. I'm not surprised these days to hear about all the cancer and illnesses people are becoming prone to. Make sure you cook those veggies well.

Many other expert doctors have suggested that nothing like this will actually SHRINK the prostate once it has enlarged.
So, we can understand that these dietary changes and supplements can perhaps PREVENT further enlargement but can they REVERSE the size of an already enlarged prostate ? What is the truth ?
    Thank you for your help

    • @michaelfforte
      @michaelfforte Год назад +20

Leon - very good comment and question. I wonder this myself after watching hundreds of prostate videos. If you put the words 'shrink' and 'prostate' in a video title you are guaranteed many clicks.
There are drugs like Avocet that are 5-a-reductase inhibitors that actually shrink the prostate so apparently it is possible.
Many supplements like nettle root, saw palmetto and others contain 'natural' 5-a-r inhibitors, but not as powerful as what pharma cooks up, so we're not likely to get results more than a reduction of symptoms.
I have also researched and tried may of the Ayurvedic medicines like Kanchanaar Guggul, Varuna, Chandraprabha Vati, Shilajit, Tribulus, etc. I have also tried homeopathy.
I am 71 - my conclusion is that there is no magic supplement, diet, or exercise. Yet doing all in the form of a healthy prostate lifestyle are extremely important preventative measures. Our prostates do not exist in a vacuum. They are a part of the whole body and interact with all the other organs and systems. We don't wake up one morning with an enlarged prostate - the process begins in out 30's. Years of excessive sitting, bad diet, stress, lack of sun and exercise do take a toll.
There are other types of tumors and growths that can grow in our bodies, and they can also shrink. This leaves me wondering as you do, is it possible to REVERSE an enlarged prostate.

    • @leonmaliniak
      @leonmaliniak Год назад

@@michaelfforte Hi M...Nice review of the known potential elements which the evidence seems to suggest DO shrink the prostate a bit but not enough to cure the problem. If any of these really were really effective we would have solved this insidious problem already instead of just " managing " the symptoms.
Western medicine has a nasty habit of dismissing things like this as " normal " and part of aging and that we cannot do anything about it, which is admission only of ignorance and an admission of failure. There are many places in the world, like Japan, where getting an enlarged prostate is not an automatic function of aging in men.
Whenever you see some sort of degenerative condition which is so widespread in a particular population you are justified to conclude that there is some COMMON THREAD, some aspect of that life style which many men engage in but which we do not immediately recognize as pathogenic and which is the root cause of that problem. . It could be something as simple and universal as our municipal WATER supplies with their toxins and heavy metals and minerals.
The point is that having an enlarged prostate is NOT normal and it not a natural product of aging and our challenge to the medical research community is to tell them to roll up their sleeves and figure out the common trigger and not just be satisfies with calling it " normal " and just continue selling us useless drugs and treating symptoms.
I for one will be investigating the possible benefits of OXYGEN THERAPY in the form of HYDROGEN PEROXIDE and see if it can also help this condition since THOUSANDS of scientific articles have been written which seem to demonstrate that this has helped cure dozens of other medical conditions and dysfunctions.
GOD has given us a magnificent design of life with unlimited capacity for self repair and maintenance and it is up to us to figure better out how it works and how to better access these functionalities and to STOP INTERFERING with some of the very systems that the CREATOR GOD gave us to protect us.
      Cheers
