I am on my second set of these in 29" they are great tyres and I regularly take them on dirt and gravel roads. I also run mine using a tyre liner to prevent punctures.
I swapped out the stock GT Pro Performer Tires for a pair of 700x38c Tires. Feels kinda like going going from a monster truck to a formula one, and yeah it might look a little outta place 🤔 But it handles so well now!
I do like that tire. I just recently moved from a carbon fiber Felt road bike to a 29" Trek Procaliber MTB that I want to make my street bike. I've reached that age where I need to be upright and not leaning over... These tires would look really good on the Trek. I've also thought about going with a low profile BMX handlebar to replace the flat bar.

Do the tire liners work? I put one in on one of my bikes, but it didn't seem like much protection.

Yeah, I’ve got another bike. I’m putting a video together on and I went to a slightly smaller tire and it feels great.

They are super nice tires, I like them more as I ride on them. I say go fir it, sounds comfortable.
I swapped out mine for the Grifters too. Great tire indeed!
Every time I ride that bike I am reminded how much I like those tires. Good choice.
Yeah cause they don't make 29 DTH..
good vid very helpful.
Thanks!
Great video, let me know please if tire 2.5 will fit on my trek x caliber 8 where existing tire is 2.4?
Hard to say for me, I don’t have that bike. They seem pretty beefy, though, so if you have plenty of space, I would imagine they would fit
They will fit, I run the Hookworm 29" 2.5 on my xcal 7 and they're super
What brand and size slime tube did you use? Most of the slime tubes I’m seeing only go up to 2.2” wide. Let me know thanks!
It’s all good. The width doesn’t matter those are the same ones I use. 7 BMX bikes and no flats for a year.
comprei um mas estou com medo pois o pneu que estava antes era 29x2.10 e o MAXXIS é 29x2.50, sera que da certo ?
So long as it clears your frame, it will be fine. What kind of bike?
Is this tubeless?
No it is not.
