Actually playing right now and after you talk to Zimmerman you'll get an automatic encounter shortly after where you can receive the part to trick Zimmerman into thinking the synth is dead. If you ask whis she's with she'll say "we call ourselves the railroad". You get the dialogue option to ask if you can join and she says "consider yourself an honorary member if you save the synth"
Note about the victory rifle: even though it's behind a very hard lock, Dogmeat will bring it to you if you ask him to bring you an item, no bobbypins required.

So much cool and different designs on weapons from Fo3. in Fo4 all guns pretty much look the same except some "unique" items has other mods. Only unique looking weapons ive found is the alien blaster and ... kremvhs tooth? -.- i guess we gotta wait for dlc and mods
perforator is by far my most favorite gun, getting 90 steel ingots is tedious but worth it for this. having a 0.5 weapon spread makes it awesome even when hip firing.

Any shotgun like weapons besides double barrel/sawnoff and kneecap have really good advantage even if you dont believe they are not good at long range...the trick is over time you can kill them with sneaks from a long distance depending how tough they are or bring them to your position...and give them max damage to the back of the head...it depends on how you like playing...but I could play the game all the way through perfectly with shotgun like weapons apart from ones ive directly mentioned cause they are crap!
This video is what people need to see if they think the Destabilizer does more per shot damage then the Disintegrater. you are seeing it's damage per SECOND in the pip boy. people clai, it takes death claws out in 2 shots, I had 100 energy weapons and Xenotech perk, It took at least 5 shots in VATS to kill a death claw. the disintegrater took 2. case closed.

You can get the victory rifle by Jericho he will go to the locker and grab it but it'll still be locked and he will also have the ammo
If the xuaolong was suppresed that would be my main gun instead of the periferator
