So the alphas were the parents TwT there's probably a lot more studies from the time that got it wrong too, and the captivity thing makes sense because some animals are very territorial.

I think if anything just a spin-off. The series is ended with a huge conclusion and it would be too much to craft around it and start back off where they ended. Maybe a spin-off where they’re older or just a movie. I think the show ended fine. It was great for what it was and has already ended. If the fans want maybe another installment can be made, but I’d rather Disney not tarnish the Owl House show by trying to rejuvenate the show for a fourth season.

I grew up on Amazing World of Gumball and I always knew that Gumball was a giant loser and not a great role model most of the time. All Disney's trying to do is make a profit by making content for the most "general" audience possible, which is impossible. The Owl House and a few other shows like Gravity Falls and Amphibia were good because they were ultra-specific in the targeted audience, since the creators were particularly similar to those targeted audiences, and thus knew what the audience would want. The terrible shows are targeted towards the most amount of people, and thus can't make ultra-specific references without angering some group or boring another. And everyone loses in that situation because Disney won't make a profit off of a terribly made show for literally everyone and simultaneously absolutely no one. Sorry. Felt the need to belt that out. XD
There's also another. They believed that turning a beloved series into a "mature" version (velma) was better than what literally everyone over the age of 16 wanted horror depictions of beloved cartoons to go (learning with pibby). They're not just trying to screw a general audience; they want to screw with what age groups want. And velma just... isn't. Indefinitely.
I thought Gravity Falls and Amphibia ended on their own terms. I at least know for a fact Gravity Falls did. It COULD have gotten cancelled if Alex Hirsch made the reveal that the sheriff and deputy were gay at any point before the final episode.

I agree with you, now that the series has already ended, it would be worse if they continued it and it became boring. But it still ended very quickly, if Disney hadn't canceled it we would have had a more developed ending.
in my opinion it would´ve been better if we got more development for characters like Vee, since she only has like 7 minutes of screentime due to the lack of time. They also could´ve given us a spin-off series with things while they were in the human realm and things after the show, like a slice-of-life epiloue mini-show
I don’t think there should have been another season, but I would’ve liked a full season 3, and maybe a spin off show that’s like ten 10 minute episodes about either Belos’ past or what life was like after Belos, and rebuilding the Isles.

Gravity falls wasn't cancelled. It ended on its own. The series creator pitched a series spinoff about the adventures of the Stan twins set after the show's end however, but it was turned down.

I'd say the beginning of their downfall was when they released Frozen. They made that movie with very minimal effort. And, with all due respect, it was well-received. However, this possibly taught them that they can make movies that will appeal to modern audiences, with minimum effort and resources used.

What baffles me more is that Disney was SURPRISED THAT PEOPLE LIKED THE OWL HOUSE! When the first S3 episode aired, it was posted to youtube as well. That video, to my knowledge, is the MOST VIEWED VIDEO ON THE CHANNEL, AND DISNEY WAS SURPRISED. They fully expected people to not like the show because THEY didn't, and when they were proven wrong, they just decided to go down with the ship anyway. Granted, it was way too late for changes, but SOMETHING could have been done.
Nah. That was thier front. In reality they didnt like that it was good queer representation, as it was announced that the show would be ending early around the time of the first Amity/Luz kiss. The season that follwed was the final season and was cut shorter than what would have otherwise be expected. This was also around the same time that the Disney CEO was funding anti-gay legislation in Florida, which was followed by a backlash and then a toothless public announcement, followed by conservative politicians imposing was was essentially fines on Disney Florida. It was a mess.

I'm glad both Toh and TGAMM managed to still have pretty solid endings (I have some problems with toh s3's handling of Hunter but overall it was great) But man do I wish both shows could've gotten at least one full extra season. The reason "we cancelled the show because the audience was older" is such bs too cuz they could've easily just readjusted the show to be meant for those older audiences. I would've loved to see toh slowly build from the cuteness of s1 to like... actual teen cartoon with darker themes explored more openly. Disney's reached an all-time low point. At first, all they do is make sequels and become unpopular. Then they have a few good hits like Luca and Encanto before being stuck with stuff like this and wish. Like, who asked for Cinderella three? Yet they ended TOH and their most popular series (statistically) Gravity Falls.
The idea is once children get used to it enough they don't have to put as much work into actually making a series. Also, they're earning money regardless so they don't care. Shows like this have low production cost, lower the expectations and somehow still make them money. Disney and Netflix won't fix it anytime soon. Like they said, their target is children growing up using it,children who already have record low attention rates in the world compared to all other countries. Remember the movie wally? It's that situation. Fatten them with junk and they won't ever look outside and realize there's something better. Blame the parents who are funding it for the companies.

Heres the thing, Disney has been allowed to grow so large and take over so many other studios that it no longer matters to them if they make something good. Their competitors are either just as big and lazy as them or are too small to make something big enough to compete. I think if anything just a spin-off. The series is ended with a huge conclusion and it would be too much to craft around it and start back off where they ended. Maybe a spin-off where they’re older or just a movie. I think the show ended fine. It was great for what it was and has already ended. If the fans want maybe another installment can be made, but I’d rather Disney not tarnish the Owl House show by trying to rejuvenate the show for a fourth season.

I grew up on Amazing World of Gumball and I always knew that Gumball was a giant loser and not a great role model most of the time. All Disney's trying to do is make a profit by making content for the most "general" audience possible, which is impossible. The Owl House and a few other shows like Gravity Falls and Amphibia were good because they were ultra-specific in the targeted audience, since the creators were particularly similar to those targeted audiences, and thus knew what the audience would want. The terrible shows are targeted towards the most amount of people, and thus can't make ultra-specific references without angering some group or boring another. And everyone loses in that situation because Disney won't make a profit off of a terribly made show for literally everyone and simultaneously absolutely no one.

They believed that turning a beloved series into a "mature" version (velma) was better than what literally everyone over the age of 16 wanted horror depictions of beloved cartoons to go (learning with pibby). in my opinion it would´ve been better if we got more development for characters like Vee, since she only has like 7 minutes of screentime due to the lack of time. What baffles me more is that Disney was SURPRISED THAT PEOPLE LIKED THE OWL HOUSE! When the first S3 episode aired, it was posted to youtube as well. That video, to my knowledge, is the MOST VIEWED VIDEO ON THE CHANNEL, AND DISNEY WAS SURPRISED. They fully expected people to not like the show because THEY didn't, and when they were proven wrong, they just decided to go down with the ship anyway. Granted, it was way too late for changes, but SOMETHING could have been done.

The season that follwed was the final season and was cut shorter than what would have otherwise be expected.

When I saw "Walt," my mind immediately went to Walter White and not Walt Disney.
Ain't no way Disney actually approves this as safe content for children for this generation.
The idea is once children get used to it enough they don't have to put as much work into actually making a series. Also, they're earning money regardless so they don't care. Shows like this have low production cost, lower the expectations and somehow still make them money.
Disney and Netflix won't fix it anytime soon. Like they said, their target is children growing up using it,children who already have record low attention rates in the world compared to all other countries.

@@cyanity1017 It's not just shows either, Nimona is one of my favourite movies but Disney canceled it when Blue Sky shut down because there was a gay relationship between two male main characters, another studio picked it up though and it finally got released on Netflix.

Heres the thing, Disney has been allowed to grow so large and take over so many other studios that it no longer matters to them if they make something good.
Their competitors are either just as big and lazy as them or are too small to make something big enough to compete. It's why when something really awesome comes out, its rarely disney or one of these big companies who actually made it.
