Man you put a legit welding college course in a 10 min video that we can understand. Thank you 🙏🏾
Learnt more on here in 10 minutes than tons of welding channel videos on youtube.
Who is the operator? He,s the best ever johnchisholm40
It’s a good video but the best way to learn welding is doing it, you have to learn your own technique to a certain extent when welding and do what you feel comfortable with.
people really don't know the past tense of learn
@@anthonyvalenza2673 Learnt and learned and both acceptable as past tense. You should have capitalised your sentence and used a full stop.
I know this is an old video but I would have to rate it as one of the best on how to MIG weld. Simple, concise and to the point. I’ve learnt so much. Thanks heaps!
Agree David - I've added to my saved list.
He's dead right about the savings. Since I started doing my own vehicle servicing and repairs a few years ago I've saved nearly 2k GBP. It paid for an Oxford welder and a heap of tools.
My local Ford dealer, who sold me my vehicles, has stopped speaking to me though. I've also learned to avoid them for MoT tests as they will now do anything to fail them in their hunt for things to repair.
P.S. I use the Eastwood sprays quite a lot. Rust Encapsulator and Extreme Chassis Black are great, although I've tended to replace the former with Jenolite now as it's a lot cheaper and seems to work ok. The High Temperature Coating (silver) is worth a look as well. Since I started coating all my caliper carriers with it the corrosion I have to deal with has diminished significantly. Every time I change the discs (rotors) I clean up and re-coat the calipers and carriers with High Temp Coating. Huge difference in lifespan and well worth the cost of the spray. Plus they look great through the spokes of the alloys.
I used to do autobody repair back in the 70s and most shops only had acetylene and oxygen welding equipment. It got the job done but it took a bit of skill to avoid warping of the area during welding. Also, the flux from the brazing rod had to be removed perfectly or else it would cause problems with the body filler. I had a spot welder at my shop which was really helpful. I wish that I would have had a MIG welder at the time. I lived in the rust belt and this welder would have saved me a lot of time and effort. Thank you for the video.
Hands down the best mig weld video yet
Been welding 26 years...you know all tricks. People definitely will learn from this video.👍👍
Mark your a bad to the bone!!!! I enjoy watching your informative video. Your the reason why I will try Eastwood products!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Message d'un français qui ne parle pas très bien anglais..... mais qui a apprécié toutes les explications ! Merci pour ce tuto 😉
Now, I do realize that Eastwood's main focus is to sell their products and GREAT PRODUCTS they do have! but what really surprises me is how they are willing to share trade secrets and unselfishly put themselves out there. Esstwood has given me the confidence to tackle my own projects. Keep it up Eastwood. You guys are the s**t👍
You guys put out the best auto body repair videos on YT. Makes me wanna buy your products exclusively.
I never put one of those welding devices in my hands but today I got encouraged, best instructional tutorial in the net, thanks, much obliged to you sir
These videos are so good. Just got a MIG welder to start fixing my old car that I'm never getting rid of. No excess in these videos, just pure information in a clear manner that assumes nothing of the viewer other than a desire to learn proper welding techinique.
Great video! Helped me with welding knowledge so I'm rewarding you for your great video and buying the Eastwood Mig 135 from Eastwood. Thanks Mark!
About to tackle our first bit of rust cut out on a car and plate welding. Learnt one heck of a lot on this video. Thanks mate.
Wow best instructional video on RUclips.
Love Eastwood. Will be doing this soon and get me a welder!
As a part time and old school car repairer, I had increasing need to use the MIG welder. But I did find getting the right advice on welding technique hard to find. Also, without regular practice I find can make unnecessary mistakes when painting or welding. This is a really useful video, I use it , like many from Eastwood, as a quick refresher course before I dive into another major job.
Made my day ! Best video on this subject out there .
I have learned more watching your videos than I did in autobody 1 and auto custim painting in high school. So I am going to get brave and restore my 91 Bronco.
Years of painting taxi cabs my buddies think I can't do real bodywork. So with your videos we will prove them wrong.
Thank you for your instructions on the 3 method of welding . Very clear and easy to follow. Great Job.

This video made it easy to understand. I am pushing to buy the 135 mig from Eastwood this summer to start learning instead of buying the cheap harbor freight ones. Thanks for these amazing videos.

thanks Mark! Great Voice, Great easy explanations
Learnt heaps, great host
Hi Thanks for sharing, my question is what type of welder do I need to buy to weld like that project car?
awesome video, I am just attempting partial quarter panel replacement, after the weld is ground down do you have to go back and fill small holes that I missed? or will the body filler be ok to fill them
Excellent guidance
Great beginners tutorial. If I may expand on it; Disconnect your battery when performing welds ON the vehicle. Also, if I missed it?, Proper wire selection, to match the gauge of welding material. Again, great video and that unit makes sweet welds! 😃
Thanks for the education. Appreciate it very much.
Great video, learnt a ton!
Man ive seen 10 vids and finally quick and simple too the point. Now lets go cut some rust!
Nice vid Thanks !! Does this also work with flux core ?
Great tips thank you
Thanks....great video !
very informative....good job
Great video, thanks !
what different sizes of mig wire do you use for the different sheet metal gauges. .022, .020, .018, 016 et?
Thanks a lot I learn something new if I've needed to make a hole without a drill raise up voltage to hold with clecos I also learned the proper way about connecting to piece of sheet metal reinforcing the back around the edges kind of like installing gypsum board thanks thank you for explaining well.
Fantastic video! Thanks 👍
Were you using Globular transfer for the thicker steel? I noticed there was a lot of spatter.
best video on RUclips
Nice would love to do this
Good video , i learned a lot. Thanks.
Very good teacher. I agree with V T, simple and great explanation.
Only decision left is what model mig welder.
What amps are you using on car body metal.
That's awesome didn't know it was that simple
What size wire are you using? Thanks for the informative video! Saving up for one of these:)
I like how they are reasonable on there prices when comes to tools I don't want junk but I also don't want screwed on the price
Well explained thank you
Great video 👍👍🤟
welp you've just made me an Eastwood guy. cool video keep em coming
Awesome!
very well done. thank you
Hi,
When you did your plug weld. Did you put your wire in the center of the hole? I'm welding a bedside on. I was able to use my spot welder in most spots, but on the front side i had to drill holes. I was going to plug weld those
U are good man. Thanks.

Very nice video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Great video 👍🏽
Gracias crack saludos desde Bs As Argentina
nice video. can I turn my mig welder into a dent puller
nice job🖒
Good job!
Some people are going to complain about a chance for rust to develop from moisture being trapped by those flange pieces placed behind the repair panel in the example. The thing to remember is just how long do we want the repair to last. The rest of your lifetime, or for as long as you expect to keep the car? I personally don't care if the repair is going to last for 20 years, I'm 66 years old. Make it easy on yourself.
So i have to weld the quarter pannel to a 71 charger, should i use a backing plate sense i cant lay rhe metal on a table?
Love these videos! Man, I wish you guys would set up a shop like this down here in Terre Haute, IN. Even if it's just to teach things like this, it would be awesome to have access to.
I have a Hobart 190 that I use for little things around the house or in my garage. To be honest, it's entirely too much of a welder for someone like me who has no experience welding but I thought that having too much power would be better than needing more power and not having it, so I went ahead bought it instead of their 140 model or anything else. I recently used it to weld up some cracks in my push mower's deck. I've never used gas--haven't even tried as I'm always afraid of anything that's compressed! (Me and things that can explode never make good bedfellows... I'm a wuss, I know...) But what I've found doing FCAWS is that preparation is everything, and as long as you use their anti-spatter spray, you can have some really great welds. If you don't use the spray, you'll have bad spatter but the welds will still be strong.
My process up to this point has been to follow the sheet inside the door as closely as possible but then after sanding everything up, wiping the prepared surface afterwards with alcohol or whatever cleaner I have. Then if everything looks good, I spray on the anti-spatter spray (just a few spritzes) then try to consistently drag-weld using a 45-degree angle. The mower deck has been the thickest steel I've welded so far. I think it was around 1/8th inch thick, but even then, I didn't do any dimes or circles because even with that thickness, this welder wanted to burn through it and I think it was my technique rather than the settings as once I sped up my drag, things improved. I have a lot to learn (obviously) but I had some great welds with it once I got some things figured out. I really love this welder.
Thanks for the video! Some great info in it, especially the part about the reinforcing of the butt areas using those strips and tacks.
Making it look easy!
Is it good for frame work
good video
I read 2 text books and in 10 minutes I can tell the difference between stitch, but and plug weld thanks.
Very useful..👍👍👊
I just bought one and can't get it to spark. Any suggestions?
