I'll point out that you can activate Phyrexian Infiltrator's ability in response to his own ability. First, target one of your own creatures. In response, target an opponent's creature. So you will end up with the best creature of your enemy and the Infiltrator and you'll lose some shitty token or something. This interaction is in the rules information for this sneaky Phyrexian.

I run both Phyrexian Purge and Fire Covenant in my Greven, Predator Captain deck. It usually means you just 1 shot someone.
Man, Phyrexian Infiltrator takes me back, that was in the first theme deck I ever built. Old school Phyrexians back during invasion block.
Ah you did have Phyrexian Tribute on one of these! Such a nice card, I run it in my Ghoulcaller Gisa deck and it always catches people by surprise.
Portcullis is an absolute house of a card in my Aminatou, the Fateshifter deck. Her minus 1 flickers the Portcullis causing it to exit and reenter the battlefield. Then portcullis ability for leaving the battlefield resolves returning all the creatures just for them to exile again. But with it being an ETB based deck I get crazy value and generally decimate the board states of all over players in the process.
Better idea with Shauku / Porticulis: Play lands that turn into creatures until end of turn. An opponent casts a creature, you activate, say, a Mishra's Factory, there are now 2 creatures in play, theirs is exiled. Start of your turn, there's just Shauku in play and she can attack. Or you could be a real dirtbag with Shauku and play stuff like Lethal Vapors.

And this why I follow this series so closely - I’ve never seen Peacekeeper before, and it’s such a good card! Definitely putting it in some decks.

Portcullis is insanely good in commander for an etb deck.. and cheap at $1, for being a Stronghold rare with no reprint
Another way to deal with artifacs in black is Xenic poltergeist... Turn them into creatures and kill them in the traditional black style. FYI I noticed Shauku endbringer has jumped up to nine dollars this week! XD

@@edhdeckbuilding You should never think of it as "your fault." Prices of cards, especially good ones, are naturally going to go up in value over time the more people become aware of them.
It's possible I guess you've had something of a comet effect, I just asked you to give me your take on it because you seem to like the older lesser known cards like me. I'm glad I did it's motivated me to build her finally (And a few other people by the looks of things)!

So, something to add about Phyrexian Infiltrator. Like Avarice Totem, you can abuse the stack with it.
Say you have a "bad gift" like Bronze Bombshell, you can target Bombshell with Infiltrator, then target your opponent's creature on the stack of that if you have 8 mana. The result will be Infiltrator swapping with your opponent's creature, then the effect targeting Bombshell resolves while it's under the opponent's control, so you end up with Infiltrator, and your opponent gets a Bombshell to the face.

I need to add Portcullis to my Yarok deck. If I understand it correctly, it could get you quadruple ETB effects. Suddenly even simple things like get a land from your deck onto the battlefield, draw a card, or disenchant something are super powerful.
I ran Peacekeeper in my Alesha deck. Never paid the upkeep cost, let it die, then swung out and reanimated with Alesha. Fun times :D
Hi, i'm following since a few days now, really like format like this. I found your channel linked to mine (i don't know how heh) cause i'm doing the same kind of video but in french, and focusing way more on budget cards (a lot of 3 / 4 dollar cards costs less than 1 euros in Europe so it's way easier) and it's funny how on 50 to 60 cards we only speak of the same like 5 times (and even if i don't really like do to this, if you are looking for more, you can check out mine). There's so much card to explore and have fun with, in commander people really need to stop full netdecking and search a bit more for weird but on point interactions.

I recently swapped out Magus of the Moat for Peacekeeper in my Kynaios and Tiro Superfriends deck and I've been pretty impressed with it. The upkeep cost is useful because my deck usually wins with a great token army or planeswalker sarkhan dragons so having the option to Sac it off when needed is great.

What you said with physician infiltrator doesn’t work. Or drake I’m pretty sure. If you lose control of the creature you are trying to exchange the effect fizzles
i swap creatures with someone. then once they are already in control of phyrexian infiltrator i exile it with voyager staff and it enters the battlefield under owners (me) control at the end of turn.
the only problem about phyrexian inflitrator is that it's too costy for it's activation, gilded drake is so expensive because is only 2 mana in the end. How about a simple Control Magic instead?
I use Portcullis in my Sigarda Voltron deck. Even if it's around for 2 or 3 turns it's potentially a house as it can slow decks down so much (as players don't want to cast creatures into it, or it hoses creature heavy decks until I can get my Crawlspace etc down which means they can't attack me with the hordes of creatures that came back from Portcullis leaving the field)

Commander deck teck idea. Tuya bearclaw attack anthem tribal possibly with some +1/+1 counters in the background. I'm thinking Wild Beastmaster, Cultivator of Blades type of attack tribal. Just go crazy I'm subscribing

I love portcullis, especially with man lands. Animating mishra's factory in response to a creature spell is good times. It gets even crazier w two of them in your possession, put your creatures under the original and your opponents under the copy. Phyrexian infiltraitor combos with itself, exchange control of infiltraitor w your own kobold token, then w that on the stack exchange control for the best creature. This resolves with you having the best creature and infiltraitor, they get the kobold. Just don't exchange with someone who can activate infiltraitor. Similar but better card IMO, is avarice totem. I play alot of these FYI.

You should do a deck tech about Brokkos infect once you're back for more videos ^^ Essentially giving +6/+6 and trample to your infect creatures over and over again is glorious
I have an aminatou super friends/ ETB deck and my mind shattered when I saw portcullis
I played peacekeeper in my 'Alesha, who smiles at death' deck, you don't pay its upkeep cost then attack and bring it back with Alesha's ability = you are the only one who can attack.

Portcullis + Banisher Priest type effects are pretty nasty too
There is a 3 mana mono black creature Xenic Poltergeist it turns artifacts into creatures just by tapping so you can then kill with creature removal.
I use pattern of rebirth in my muldrotha deck. It is very fun
Two years later, Phyrexian Purge has dropped to around $3 online, making it an affordable option for multi-creature removal in red-black decks. I use it in a Marchesa Black Rose deck to pare down my life and keep Dethrone active.
I run Phyrexian Infiltrator in my Aminatou deck, cause I can just blink it back to me with her ability.
I also run Vedalken Plotter in that deck, which is just Political Trickery on a body for the same cost.
Could you please start putting the prices of all included cards?
Just helps to know if they're viable for a certain player or not :)

phyrexian infiltrator is beautiful since you can just steal creatures and just flicker it to get it back.
Now Portcullis you are correct on blinking but you failed to mention the infinite with it'
if you do it with.....Felidar guardian you have it target the portcullis but stack so the felidar gets exile before that resolves what you did is the portcullis disapears and comes back in and so dose the felidar and you can do it all again which means you got Infinite enter or leave the battlefield and its probably the best one of them all of felidar infinites because it throws in a infinite ETB of every creature you own in it.

If you want to destroy artifacts in black it seems steep of a price to pay to sacrifice 2 creatures to destroy a single artifact. Sure it's good in some token heavy or aristocrat deck types, but I'd say that there are 2 cards that are better in most other decks. Xenic Poltergeist (.50 cents) and Karn, silver golem ($30) both turn artifacts into creatures and then well you Murder or any other destruction effect like board wipes. I find it really easy to fit xenic into my deck, knowing that it is there to kill artifacts.
You can put the phyrexian infiltrates ability on the stack and blink i response and no one ever has the chance to use it against you.

Gremlins is a weird counter to Winter Orb or Trinisphere.
I don't like stealing effects in Magic however there is a very old saying of warfare when you hire a mercenary you're actually hiring two soldiers one for you and taking one away from your enemy
Pattern of rebirth is cool but I like death render better for continuous value and it also buffs your creature.
Also doesn’t have to be color specific can throw it in any deck especially aristocrats when you’re sacrificing a lot.
that is good. but only gets a card out of your hand. getting any creature out of your library seems alot better.
Political Trickery seems nuts in Aminatou. You can steal a land then flicker your land to get it back.
and phyrexian infiltrator. someone really needs to build an aminatou deck with the exchange theme.

hmmm? maybe. that seems like the kind of video that will piss people off though. my overrated cards video is currently my lowest rated video. people take it very personally when someone talks junk about their favorite cards.
Lately there are a lot of videos of that kind and the content is very similar. Don’t think that there is a need for more of that. If your playing in a good play group the price and power level will find its way naturally
