How Good are Black Ants?

Black ants are the basic ant that can do everything but not do one thing well. Honestly they are so generic that I can't really recommend using them for any reason at all. Anything the can do another ant can do better. In Empires of The Undergrowth the black ant is the most useless.

that's a niche case, i was talking about the black ant colony, besides any ereptor would choose any other ant than black ants
