Beast Wars is one of the most liminal 90s things to ever exist. I feel like I'm in a black void when watching it. It feels both aged and timeless with great storytelling. Transformers is a series I love but is riddled up and down with bad movies, bad shows, and an obsessive marketing campaign. Also Hasbro doesn't care about copyright if you're a piracy channel since every Pre-2015 Transformers show has been uploaded in completion to RUclips. Prime, Energon, Armada, you name it.

At first, I didn't know 'Beast Wars' was an extension of 'Transformers' until after watching A few episodes, and realized it had versions of Optimus Prime & Megatron. Given how much of A departure it was from the original, I can see why most fans rejected it.

I wouldn’t say most because several of Beast Wars characters are in Transformers hall of fame currently we have Dinobot, Waspinator, BW Megatron, Optimas Primal, Blackarachnia, BW Inferno and Tigatron.

A lot of concepts from Beast Wars have been constants in transformers lore. Sparks,protoforms and trans warp technology have always been mentioned or used in a transformer series since Beast Wars.
I grew on Gen 1 transformers but as an animal lover REALLY loved the dinobots and wished for more. Wish granted with this gem of a cartoon as well as beast machines. both really really good and glad to have it around while I was working through college homework. very underrated cartoon.
I grew up on beast wars. I have seen a few episodes of G1 and I have seen the 86 movie when I was little. But Beast Wars stuck with me more. Great character development. Fantastic storytelling. To me, Beast Wars was my transformers. No matter what other people say, I will always associate transformers with Beast Wars. G1 was a great show. But Beast Wars, that's my transformers.

I actually hated this concept as a child back in G1. Laser beak and Ravage were exceptions since they became cassette. I liked Beast Wars because of the writing and the fact that they make this transforming robot animal concept work. Until Transmetals were introduced. *sigh*

I think it’s because certain people will generally lean on certain era of a series despite it’s flaws.
@@davidkerr7350 Trypticon was another exception because his alt modes were a battle platform and a city. So I don't put him in the same league as the dinobots.
Even tho I initially became a Transformers fan after seeing the first live-action film (I was like 8 when it came out, kickstarted my love for the brand), Beast Wars was the first TF show I watched front to back along with Animated and Cybertron, and man I loved it!! Always wanted to collect the toys ever since, and I finally got my dream toy (that recent reissue of the og Ultra Class Optimus Primal) at the ripe ol' age of 22

I grew up on beast wars. I still remember waking up before school to watch it. It made me a transformers fan.
Beast Wars needs a revival.

@@Launchpad05 Oh! Mostly just as like, a jokey way of talking about how Optimus Primal is always speaking about needing to converse with "the oracle", for some reason or another- it comes off less as a spiritually enlightened primal and more like, a toxic belief primal- at least to me anyway.
It’s both interesting and sad as heck that we can get Transformers characters who are straight up Diaclone mechs brought to life…but not a single one that’s just a massive love letter to The Brave Series. Maybe a DuoBot who’s a Lion and a Stealth Bomber could work?

It is true as season 2 and 3 connected something new with us who grew up with G1 in CGI. Also the stories and characters growth was amazing that only got better!!!!!!
Beast Wars is awesome.
Back in the day, at first I didn't like Beast Wars. As I hated the idea of transforming animals, and I wanted more G1. Though I got into the writing of the show and I ended up really liking it early on. And I ended up being blown away by the G1 reveal later on. Though I never got the toys as I still hated the idea of transforming animals. I do think the writing of the show is probably the best writing in a Transformers TV show. G1 is still my favorite iteration of Transformers though. Rat Trap was my favorite character in Beast Wars.
When Beast Wars became Beast Machines show. I hated it. I don't know if they got new writers or what, but I quit watching after several episodes of Beast Machines.
We need a new beast wars series at least this good if not better. It is time
I personally think that Beast Wars was better than G1. I found G1 way too silly and my introduction to the Transformers IP was the Unicron Trilogy.

What makes botched G2 relaunch even worse - Hasbro ALREADY once before repackaged the eps for FIFTH season and that dropped like a rock. So much so that animatronic Powermaster Prime was practically a MYTH over the years. Yet despite that failure... they thought CGI would make any difference... Sigh...
(Albeit I do wonder if G2 was originally supposed to have a fully CGI cartoon and if the cost forced them to make a course correction...)
Honestly the fact they had a "sneak preview" commercial in 1992 that had the first CGI bumper shown in theaters makes me wonder if Hasbro considered at one point to make a short G2 movie for movie theaters but didn't think it'd make its investment returns so they settled with hacking up G1 episodes with bad CGI screen bugs.

I had so many Predicon toys as a kid. Rampage was my crown jewel. I had a whole head cannon where Inferno ousts Megatron and starts an Arthropods Vs Reptiles inter-conflict.
Beast Wars was always my favorite, I'm bais since it's my first. Though that's rarely a thing with me, I tend to find my favorite version of a franchise after being introduced to it. But for Beast Wars, there's a few Transformers shows I need to watch, but I never felt the same kind of magic recaptured with other Transformers series.
Thanks bringing this show back into my mind, I have started rewatching the series.
Well my brother grew up with Transformers G1 and I grew up with Beast Wars. I understand why some people don’t like it but we are who we are.

I loved Beast Wars as a kid! While I am not as big a Transformers fan as my brother, I will happily say that this is one of the Transformer shows I will go back to. The animation is trash now. But back then, it was good! Hell, it still holds up some. Voices were fun, writing was great and the stories they told were thought provoking and were interesting. As for the spin offs... I only watched Beast Machines and I didn't care for that one as much.

In my early chidhood, i couldn't watch Beast Wars sometimes due to poor timeslot. I had to go to school during that time and it sucked. It could had been better if they put the show every Saturday. It was a good show after I finished Japanese TF Takara Trilogy.
