Nothing wrong with waiting to the fall for math and phonics!!! I paired down with spelling after talking to a colleague who homeschools and she didn’t teach it but when thru phonics again and my kids wasn’t enjoying it!!! I love the idea of what is needed to be done and what can be be left!!! In our family PE is no. Negotiable and it’s just became a state requirement and I love it!!! I don’t care how my kids exercise tho!!!

My son has Autism and we meet him where he's at with his learning. He would technically be in 8th grade this upcoming coming year but his grade levels tend to be up and down and that is perfectly okay! ❤

You are doing such a good job planning for her needs. My son has had several medical issues, so I have had to scale back. We will be doing the new Zoology 2 next year, too. We are excited to try Apologia for the first time!

How do you justify her being in 6th grade when she is doing below grade level work? My daughter is 13 yo with high functioning autism. She struggles with all math and I can not seem to get her past add/sub.

In both homeschooling and public school settings, it's quite common for children to be at different levels in different subjects. Every child has their own strengths and areas where they need more support, and my focus is on her individual progress rather than trying to meet a specific bar set for her age group. Forward motion and continual learning are what matter most to us.
By homeschooling, we can tailor her education to fit her needs, ensuring she is both challenged and supported in the right areas. This personalized approach allows her to develop her strengths and gradually improve in areas where she struggles. Education is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I'm committed to helping her thrive in her own time and way. Hope this helps
