- On May 31, 2014 John Palmer, Christopher Felix, Andrew Chung and Juan Ochoa were ordained priests in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Here is a highlight video of the beautiful event.

I cried too. We are all called to lay down our lives and follow Jesus, it's not just our priests. In today's gospel, Jesus tells us to drop everything and follow him. He is the way!
This must be the most emotional and joyful moments of these newly ordained priests' in their lives - being consecrated to the priesthood following the footsteps of Christ and continuing the Lord's work of salvation.
I'm struggling - please pray for me.

I think it is symbolically very touching for the Auxillary Bishops to guide the newly ordained to their seats - a touching reminder of the confirmation.
Try having the Traditional Latin Mass as well...
Quang Vo better celebrate the TLM in other church not here. The traditional Latin mass is a cradle of beauty while this church lacks beauty. The beauty of the church should complement with the beauty of the mass. In this case of this cathedral, it does not complement.

Disappointing is the "contempoary instrumental background music. This sacred placed must be a "City on a Hill" with its ministries, especially MUSIC of the highest order!

Yes, it's Catholic. Eerything is there: the litany, the imposition of hands by the bishop, lying on the ground, the white clothes and wearing the sacred ones too. Everything. Pratically the same Initiation Rite since the Church Fathers.
Ps.: Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church to learn a bit. Or you'll be just like the ones commenting bellow who are saying "this is not a Catholic Church because of the modernist architecture there" and losing to understand the same imposition of hands that we have since Saint Peter.

It originally Catholic the way they sung the litani it was beautiful ,I'm proud to be a Christian Catholic,Catholic sing the same litani when we ordained Priest ,Bishop ,Cardinals,Sisters and even our Holy Father that is Our Pope

Please stop placing the holy host into unconsecrated hands. It kills me to see this, and I was guilty of it when newly baptized, but now accept our Lord upon the tongue. My hands aren't worthy to touch His Holiness. The church looks more like a office building then a church. Build better, please. Pray for all priests, the secular world (the devil' dominion) they must not fall too. Pray daily for them. God bless all who were ordained.
I’m sorry but that’s such a poorly designed church. It doesn’t even look Catholic. I don’t support the SSPX but they built the famous Imaculata church which is almost the same size as this cathedral and it costed more than 4x less to build (immaculata cost 42 million and la cathedral cost 192 million). Just look up some pictures and compare them.

Sad that their hands weren't bound in their stole like they traditionally do. So beautiful...
I believe the binding was not a stole but a clothe called a "maniturgium", which was used to wrap their hands after the bishop anointed the hands with sacred chrism. And traditionally the priest would then give the maniturgium to his mother, who would be buried with it. Very sadly, many bishops forbid this practice today.

Oh Lord have mercy . Religion can never save man no matter how holy it may look , it will never save us . The only thing that can save is salvation from Jesus Christ alone , and you can only receive it by accepting the work he has already done at Calvary.

50 years of a new mass?? really a new mass?? I am not sure of your age, but I can tell you I have attended it more than you have. I just get nothing from it any more, Come sit in the pew, watch the priest, hear night club music with piano, then get in a hand the host and go home. Same as my non catholics do.
I have thought long and hard and have now only attend the Traditional Latin Mass. You come in , every one says the rosary before mass time, then the mass, said very reverently, hear the word , and receive the Lord not in my hands. So different than the 50 years of trouble, its just nothing to me any more, like a joke, its all centered in the priest and not Christ. Its not a supper, or table its an altar. Its called the Holy Sacrifice the Mass, not a supper or fun time, As Pope B16 said, " The Novus ordo mass had become a mass where the priest is made the center of attention and not Christ. The mass must be said respectful and so many songs, dance, holding hands, lifting hands which the church does not want, dancing in the church, you see this on youtube, you NEVER see this in a latin Mass, check those videos out. I am done with that mess. one day the bishops and priest will have to pay for this. as St. John Chrysostom said, "Hell is paved with the skulls of Bishops, and the walls of priests" Thanks Vatican 2 for leading souls to hell since 1970. Done with that shit. Good luck
