Hallo Herr Horstmann.
I believe in the wisdom of God, and I know that he did not call me for the priesthood for good reasons. I can't stop thinking about how immensely fortunate the two men who are prostrate on the floor are. May God always guide their steps and may they have holy lives. By the way, this chant and this mass are absolutely beautiful, I love my Church. Let's pray for the Church and its pastors.
I remember the first couple of times I experienced the Litany of the Saints during Mass. In the pit of my being I felt that Heaven were being stirred up and Holiness was escaping from It. What an amazing experience that was for me!
At Belleville's St. Peter Cathedral the ordinandi are prostrate in the sanctuary and the priests of the diocese are off to the sides on their knees praying during this part of the ordination mass. Who cannot be moved a the sight of their soon to be brother priests in reverent supplication while looking on......More than once I have noticed that a ray of sun will shine down right on the candidates.......
I love this litany. A like this version the male and female cantor interchanging is most effective. Soft supportive pipe under the the lead. A beautiful arrangement. The best version on you tube. truly full of grace
As an active and practicing Catholic, it's great to read such nice comments. I was in the seminary for a year and I had the priviledge to attending a half dozen ordinations in different dioceses. Regarding this specific arrange, this is MY FAVORITE. Another way of chanting the litany of the saints is just for the cantor to recite the saint's name and have the congregation recite "pray for us." Some dioceses tend to be rigidly conservative and only do this arrangement, which is slightly a shame, because this one on RUclips is much more beautiful, powerful, and involves the congregation. I only know of one diocese who does not use this litany arrangement, and it's the one I live near. That's for another conversation. Keep the Faith, BMM

This is such a beautiful hymn imploring the intercession of our holy saints. It has always been one of my favorites, but done in the context of an ordination and sung so perfectly, touches me more deeply than words could express. Thank you for posting this on "youtube". I'm interested in knowing where this ordination took place. I sponsor a seminarian in India and sent this link to one of the priests in the congregation. God bless you! Linda
I have searched everywhere for the TRADITIONAL Litany of the Saints which I knew as a child from Parochial school. Most of the ones offered here, are edited versions or chanted. If I could find the prayer book I had which contained all Litanties, such as Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, etc. I would be elated. I will pray to St. Anthony ( who has a Litany of the Lost) to help me find that prayer book.
If you don't find it then make a phone call to Cotters Church Supply in Los Angeles - (800) 446-3366. They will probably have the book you are looking for.
I always thought the alleged Holy Cross v Jesuit rivalry was restricted to High School football, but "Francis Xavier and Ignatius" was specifically omitted in this otherwise gorgeous rendition. Even in years when Bellarmine beats St Francis, the saints and blesseds of the Society of Jesus praise God in gratitude for the excellent works of the Congregation of the Holy Cross, and vice versa.

Here is your lyrics... I spent several hours over the last week preparing this... first I found the lyrics for the original Litany of the Saints by John D. I LOVE this arrangement of one of the most beautiful of Catholic liturgical music! It is my favorite!
A beautiful version of the Litany of the Saints
I love this particular Litany, the music is very moving. I love when they sing it at the Easter Vigil....so beautiful, I always have tears in my eyes.
God Bless our Priests and Bishop Daniel Jenky !!! 🙏
Close your eyes and try to imagine how wonderful this chant will be when sung by the angels and saints when you enter into heaven before Almighty God.
I hope so
Why on earth would the angels and saints be asking themselves to pray for us...?
It’s awesome.
With me it's going to have to be after a decent burning time in purgatory.

It’s the Becker arrangement.
Billo! 87! How did it go?
Finally got confirmed and they didn’t sing the full litany but did an abbreviated version of this.
