If my memory serves me correctly Thanksgiving 1973 fell on the 22nd of November, marking the 10th anniversary of JFK’s assassination in Dallas. I believe they honored his memory during pregame.
I remember this game well. After losing to them in SB6, It was great to finally beat them. If you check Miami herald or the Miami News archives, you'll find that they played in the exhibition season in 1973 in Texas. Dolphins led 23-6 only to lose 26-23. That REALLY REALLY SUCKED.
Miami had never beaten Dallas..BUT This would be Don Shula's 3rd win over Tom Landry in 5 games.By the end of the decade Shula would have his 4th win in 6th games over Landry.Overall Shula would be 6-3 vs Landry.

Correct
First time Miami ever beat Dallas. A great Thanksgiving Day game, but not the greatest ever played between the two teams on that holiday.
Hahaha, it was only the 2 nd time they played each other, the first being Super Bowl VI

The 1993 miracle on ice was a great one as well 🦃 + 🏈 = 🐬 victory
Keith Byars busting a 77 yd. TD in the first quarter was priceless, I was living in the DFW area back then and remember that game well.

In 1984 Shula's Dolphins knocked Landry's Cowboys out of the playoffs in the final regular season game on Monday Night Football.
Shula even beat Dallas in Dallas in a 1981 regular season game with David Woodley as QB.
@@Bipbop66 Dallas won that game 28-27.
@@richarddurr7724 Landry was 1-7 in the OB & 0-3 vs Shula.
Interesting stats aren't they?
