    Hot topic there Hilldog.The joy of carrying and using a big banger to stalk Sambar deer speaks for itself.I see it as character building.
    And yes,Ken got me hooked on the bigger bangers.Rest assured that we are quite handy with our “big canons”.PS-I’ve also got a 7mm-08.Cheers, Rob.

    Nice video HD. I've had that book for years. I carry a Tikka T3X in 9.3x62. It's light and can be carried all day long and has plenty of range for sambar hunting distances. Thanks for sharing!

      nice big thumper- i packed a 9.3 tikka for a while but found the factory ammo was manageable, but once i started reloading 250 ppsn then it started belting me around too much- i took some nice big deer and a big wild dog with it but is too much gun for me! enjoy man!!

    Back then 4" was a good group for a hunting rifle 🤣 hench the bigger Cal's. Bit more forgiving. I run a super light rifle in 308 using 130gr ttsx. Have not had one get away yet 🤷‍♂️

    Interesting subject mate. I wonder how many sambar Len Richardson bowled over with his 303/243? What ever calibre used I suppose its all about shot placement. I'll stick with either my .325WSM or my .270WSM, but in saying that the new 7mm PRC has me interested, when things become available for it that is.

    • @HillDogTV
      @HillDogTV  Год назад

      interesting, what cartridge do you recall Len used? was it a .303/243win or .243/303british? the former is no differing to a .308 performance pending the platform its chambered in, an the 243/303 would not make sense in this convo only unless Lens era is long long before .243 or rifles chamebred in .243 were common? cool fact though-

    • @newrycurt
      @newrycurt Год назад +1

      @@HillDogTV Apparently it was a 243/303 British and he mainly used 90gr Sako projectiles.

      cool- what era are we talking? you will have to excuse my ignorance but i have not come across Lens name yet? although sounds like he was much earlier days than most of my info sources date back too???
