      Thanks Oliver. Yes, see you at Durham. I'm trying hard to make it to an event at Wawa this year too.

    I want to try a TLG, too. That's a great flyer! And free flight makes sure we get our steps inà

    Lovely flights. Must try making and flying a TLG. What is the launch direction relative to wind direction?

    • @Watchingthevideos99
      @Watchingthevideos99  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the comment. The glider is basically launched into the wind. If it's really blowing, a launch slightly off the wind can help with the transition. They are fairly forgiving. I say give one a go! Easy on the arm and lots of fun.

      Thanks for the info. Another point comes to mind - the launch angle / trajectory - 45 deg?

    • @Watchingthevideos99
      @Watchingthevideos99  2 года назад +1

      Yes, you're totally on point. But I find every glider might be a bit different. So, you'll learn during the trim process what angle will work best. You'll reach that "sweet spot". The glider in the video can actually be launched at a pretty steep angle.

      Thanks. Just like CLGs bank and launch angle - will have to find that right combination.
      Patience and perseverance are the key words in FREEFLIGHT to get the model flying well.

      Exactly! And CLGs are a ton of fun! I especially enjoy indoor catapult. Feels great when you have that flight that just reaches the ceiling and transitions perfectly. 😃

    I have started building another one after mine flew away this week. Thinking maybe the boom did not swing up high enough to DT in strong lift.

    • @Watchingthevideos99
      @Watchingthevideos99  2 года назад

      Yea, I saw your video Bill. My glider drops like a dead duck when the DT goes. I've had it in some pretty strong lift in AZ and it manages to drop thru it. The spring acts as a stop for mine so make sure to use a short enough spring to allow it to fully swing. Enjoy watching your adventures with your models.

      @@Watchingthevideos99 I put the viscous timer too far back and the spring would hit the turn around loop so it could not let out enough line to swing up really high. That willl be fixed on the new one I am building.

      @@stevenhugh1785 oh, I've learned that several times...🤣😂🤣. I do think Stan's are better than the ones that came in the old Stinger HLG kits. This one is several years old now and still seems pretty consistant.

      Hi Kevin. Ken B. shows the plan in his catalog. It looks like you can email him for a digital copy. Or he'll send you a hard copy. Here's a link to his site. www.amaglider.com/?p=view&a=stans-stuff_jan-2022
