  • What is a zine?
Co-curators Branden W. Joseph and Drew Sawyer tell us how they defined a zine while creating the exhibition. Watch this short interview to learn more!
A zine, short for fanzine (or sometimes magazine), is generally defined as a quickly produced, low-cost publication intended for relatively limited distribution. While the “classic” zine is often composed of several sheets of letter-sized, photocopied paper, folded in half and staple-bound to form a booklet, zines actually come in a wide variety of sizes and formats, with a range of binding styles and reproduction techniques.
