I love these endurance races, I watch every one. Would it be possible to reverse the order in the playlists though? I would love to start part 1 and have parts 2, 3, and 4 play automatically in the correct order instead of having to go back to the list and select the next part.

Ko the Improbable. Sorry to disagree. Unless you’ve been behind the wheel of a circle track racer in anger, you wouldn’t understand that it is racing, just different than what IMSA WeatherTech provides. I’ve raced full-fendered, circle track in real life, have a track championship to my name, and only got out because I had run through my allotted funds; my only road racing has been online. I enjoy watching both road and circle track racing, and even though my Daytona experience for both tracks has been limited to electronic racing, I understand to my limited extent the challenges of each. To me, anyone who puts on a helmet, has turned the wrenches and wheel, has had the fun of pulling a damaged racer on to a trailer and spent many a long night getting it ready for the next race, is a racer, a member of the brotherhood/sisterhood, regardless of what type of racing it. Let’s enjoy the race together and bench race later.
Seems a pity that the race intrudes into the fascinating Porsche info'. The must be a whole range of merchandise, hat's t-shirts etc that I haven't heard about..
Just to burst everyone’s bubble, haul trucks for coal mine work have been using electric motors for more than 20 years. The big Diesel engines are used for generating electricity and running all the creature comforts. Additionally, the electric motors are wheel motors. They reside within the wheel hub.
At 2:29:316 you can see just how much more acceleration the GTLM turbo Porsche's and BMW have than the naturally aspirated Corvette. The #4 car was right up the inside of the #24 BMW coming onto the speedway banking with the#911 Porsche directly in front of them ... and the German cars just left the C8.R for dead. It only caught up to the Porsche under braking for the Bus Stop because the #911 car was slowed going in after being passed by the BMW. But back onto the banking again and it was no contest, the German's just waltzed away. The Corvette's look like they handle well enough. I actually thought they handled better than the Porsche's. But they haven't got BOP right just yet because the Ferrari was having the same lack of power trouble as the Corvette's.
2020 is a learning and development year for the new c8r hopefully many lessons will be learned which will be used to develop the car so that it will be fully competitive even considering b o p
Just a suggestion, put the announcers in a soundproof clear box on the track and show them talking, add the track noise on a separate line. That way you can switch to a driver and play the driver sound without having announcer interrupt that beautiful engine noise. They don't have to talk the entire 24 hours......
Clearly the Aston came down on the Vette its line clearly changed too, not arguing the Vette didnt drift up some but the Aston smacks the rear end pretty hard. This is evidenced by the Vette rear end moving so hard to the left, impossible if its the only one "drifting" of line.
@Mechanic Taft The natural line is to drift out wide entering the turn unless protecting the inside. The Aston conceded the spot but pinched down as the Vette took the ideal line. You dont maintain the same line respective to the yellow when the banking is tapering off there. That’s where the Cup cars drift out to the wall. The reference to the yellow line is wrong.
@@shaadydog1 I think you're also right about the Aston moving down, but yeah, the yellow line thing is spot-on. That doesn't show the racing line. I see it as similar to #55 (was it Tinknell?) and Castroneves, #55 also trying to cede the position, but not quite getting it done. If you're gonna cede the position, then do it now and do it completely. #55 tried to back out of an unwise dive-bomb and cede to Helio, but he didn't try hard enough or soon enough. He was braking hard until the impact. He knew what he did. An instant of indecision. With the Aston, I don't know if it was indecision or just poor situational awareness, or both, but the end result was the same - trying to cede the position but not being committed to it. (Like, making sure you've actually ceded the position before crossing into the car.)
@@beenaplumber8379 I think the aero sucked him in a bit on the Vette. Tink was just not making that move but I also felt Castro was a bit far back to be timing that GT car ahead but it was plausible. The Lambo followed that car into pit, said it before I think they thought they were going into turn 1 then all of a sudden car in front is on brakes hard and the limiter.
How can you tell the difference between the classes. Im struggling a lot, its impossible? They are different classes but different cars in the same classes aswell?
There is a spotter guide for Daytona each year by Andy Blackmore (www.spotterguides.com/portfolio/20_imsa/). It definitely helps when you don't know all the teams and liveries (yet). The wing mirrors, the wing endplates and the background colours of the car numbers are always in the class colours (the ones at the leaderboard). And you are right, there are different cars competing in the same class. It is possible because of the (always hated) Balance of Performance (BOP), which defines how much power and weight each car has to have, so no car can dominate and just run away from the rest of the field
Well atleast at night, the GTLM cars have really bright white headlights, where many of the GTDT cars have yellow or slightly less bright lights. The LMP2 cars have LMP2 written on them, and they're all Orecas.
The LMP2 cars are all orecas, so if it's an oreca it's an LMP2, all the the other non-oreca prototypes are the DPis, (Cadillacs, Mazdas and acuras), the GTLMs have red numbers and white headlights, and the GTDs have green numbers and yellow lights.

Check out the info available on official IMSA website, and also pay attention to the P.1 of the race replay, he states clearly that he was taking a 4-hour brear before switching from LMP2 car to the GTD machine. What he did on #Rolex24 was truly remarkable, let's be clear about it.
