- Relive all the action from the 2022 WeatherTech Championship qualifying race to set the field for the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener from Daytona International Speedway.
Dusting off the snow up north with a huge exhaust blast from a fully revved up IMSA Official. Thanks for the excellent coverage again and looking forward to 2022 right here.
Like what they did dropping the GTLM separation and making a broader GTD Pro field. If they can keep up this participation level for all races, this is going to be one helluva season to watch. Thanks IMSA!
Wow, very quick turnaround in getting this posted!! Thanks so much IMSA!! Beyond excited for this 2022 season!
I'm so excited for this race
I'm so excited to be excited
IMSA. You are the goat. I know this racing year just started, but I can’t wait for 2023 and 2024. That’s when you merge with WEC officially (I think). The car lineups will be full. LMDh is exciting. It’s will be this centuries golden age of racing.
Making it easier for people from around the world to see various tracks and this hopfully will bring more viewers.
The only issue I see if it's possible there won't be anymore full races on YT and it'll require paying the WEC fees to watch :/
@@Zarroc0215 WEC post their races on their channel, they don’t do it as quick as IMSA does though. Especially Le Mans.
@@Zarroc0215 That would suck. Hopefully they can do YT vids and get enough views that sponsors will cover the costs, instead of pay per view
@@Zarroc0215 I understand that some cannot pay, but hopefully Eurosport has global rights for most countries. At the moment, at least in Finland is 40€ for the year for Eurosport Player. Not bad, if you ask me. Plus WEC RUclips channel shows the action afterwards, for free.
Man I've been so excited for IMSA to be back underway!!!! I watched on TV yesterday but it's just not the same without the LEGENDARY IMSA commentary and pit reporting!!!!!
What channel is it on?
@@Finoid_ Peacock
It was on Peacock...NBCs streaming service
@@bizzlea887 oh ok thanks
@@masonmillerracing You mean Peacock+ the monthly pay for subscription version of Peacock.
Thank you IMSA, your RUclips presence is so appreciated!
Yeehaw!!! Here we go for 2022. That really got exciting toward the end. Westy was giving it everything he had but Ricky had the legs in the banking. Great stuff. IMSA never disappoints. As always the great commentators are always on point.
Thanks for posting this IMSA!!! I cant wait for the 24! I will be there to take in all the action. Its going to be COOOOOOLD for us Florida folks but I cant wait!
I missed hearing the three of you SO MUCH! So happy to hear you all again and start enjoying some IMSA broadcasts.
Thanks to everyone involved in getting these posted so quickly, as well!
Thanks mate hopefully this year my wife and I can work some racers this year. We were stuck at home in Canada and couldn't travel from race to race. S.C.C.A MEMBERS FOR EVER
You better abandon that country while you can
THANK YOU for putting this online so quickly. I missed the Q race yesterday and was happy to find this waiting for me today !!!
IMSA is back!!!
IMSA racing is back baby!! Looking forward to a great season!!
Awesome, thank you for posting so fast, IMSA ❤
Yes!!!! I'm gonna watch this later after work!!!!! Thanks IMSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankyou for posting this, As a Canadian I can not get the NBC feed, ( Peacock is locked out of Canada ) and could not watch the race live. Posting this less than 24 hrs after the race is amazing. As I can not get the 24 Hr race live either , I hope you can post the race in the same quick manner. Shame on NBC for locking Canada out of this race feed. Long live IMSA ...
All races are available in Canada on IMSA.com/tvlive
@@imsaofficial In the US too for Dish customers😣 and no cable for rural viewers, so internet is expensive for not much data.
JIMMIE!!! Racing is officially back, and seeing him has me excited for it!!
Thank's imsa , oxígeno para los aficionados.
Thank you IMSA! excited for a new season let's do this!👍💪❤️
Hype! Hype! Hype! A new season of Imsa!🥳
I’m red green colorblind so I’m gonna be struggling with identifying GTD classes based on number panels lol
Wow ... That # 5 Cadillac DPI Was Doing All He Could To Get Around The # 10 Acura , He Was Really Trying And I Like That ... Good Luck To Cadillac Racing & Especially Jimmy Johnson & Richard Westbrook , Coming From A Proud Cadillac CTS Owner 👍
Thank you IMSA for streaming all this. Cant wait to watch the yearly daytona!
Loved watching every second of this race live on the track, so much action every corner
Thanks IMSA for putting this up so quick.
thank you imsa...watkins glen area cant wait to see you!
Thank you commentators! Truly enjoy these races. I always learn something new by watching/listening.
WOW @imsa!! Uploaded the morning after the race!! Is that a new "trend" for ALL the races this year???!! (Rather than the Thursday after...)
This was qualifying, not an official race. Regular season races will still be uploaded the Thursday following the TV broadcast.
so it finally begins, thanks again IMSA for the great coverage, probs to the Radio le mans team for their exciting coverage as always, looking forward to seeing IMSA, greets from the Netherlands.
Can't wait to see you guys back at Mosport this year!!!!

Judging by the finish, absolutely!
Thank the heavens! Racing is back! Go Corvette racing
Been a fan of John since back when he was calling RC car races😃
Still a fan today.
One of my favourite races of the year, bring it on !!
Welcome to 2022 I.S.M.A.. Looking forward to the races. You might bring Jeremy Shaw's mike up a little bit. He is soft spoken & hard to hear while effects mikes are drowning him out

Thanks for posting this was an amazing race with no gimmicks
Haven’t really followed any season of this series before, I’m gonna do my damnedest to this year
NBC sports spoiled the excitement again. Every highlights video shows you the winner and it popped up as the next video when I started this one.
So looking forward to the Roar Before The 24 an then the big one this coming weekend thankful for RUclips
Welcome back IMSA💪
FINALLY ! Something worth watching on youtube, lol .
So pumped for 2023! Porsche will dominate
Yay, IMSA and the IMSA Radio team are back!!!!!!!
Thank you for adding!!!!!!
21:25 Fantastic driving to save that car. Hitting that curb would've caused a disaster for the field
Guys you need to add an overall gt classification on the live timing because yesterday it was impossible to follow the gt field. GTD cars are elected to win the GTD Pro if they finish the 24h ahead of the Pro field? Hopefully yes
There is not an 'overall' GT class podium, it's specific to each class. You can always deselect classes on the live scoring page that you do not want to see, imsa.com/scoring.
That's a bad decision. There should be an overall gt classification and the GTD subclass, like in WEC or SRO. I was following a GTD Pro cars yesterday but there was no way to see the gap with the GTD cars ahead
IMSA.com/scoring displays 'Behind Class Leader' as well as 'Behind Next In Class'. If you have feedback you'd like to share with our Competition staff how how they should handle classes, please feel free to email info@imsa.com
@@imsaofficial that's what i did. But would be really cool to see a "behind overall gt leader" button.
Hello, everyone. NASCAR fan, here, and I want to say that this is the first time I've seen GT cars compete in the same event as Le Mans cars. Even though they're at least 10 mph slower. 😂 I can't wait to see what the 2022 IMSA season has in store.
GT cars has always competed in Le Mans, so they are also "Le Mans cars", just not these GT cars, those are GT3 cars. In Le Mans we have GTE cars.
I would like to see all the GTD cars in a different coverage to see what's going on in that race.
woohoo! raced this exact configuration (minus the Chicane) in my enduro kart in Dec 2017. full size cars always make the track look so much smaller but man those banks are serious business.
Video or it didn't happen
@@SuperNoticer luckily for you, the video is on my channel
@@enduroian Haha cool man I'll check it out
Good morning IMSA.
How and where fans in Brazil can watch live ?
There will be live link here?
We don't if Foxsoports / ESPN will show it.
Thank you very much!
IMSA.com/tvlive for all IMSA races in Brazil
@@imsaofficial AWESOME!!!! Thank you very much!!!!!
Indycar racers are moving to IMSA? Good to see that
Yabba dabba dooo it's time for IMSA 2022
Would be great if you live stream via youtube
Totally agree. It is possible, but they have an existing system with works (even though it didn't for me on mobile this weekend 😭). It would take a few changes, not sure if it'd be worth for them.
..Taylor squeezed Westbrook off the track there at the end, left no racing room. 🤔
Great warm up for next weekend :)
GTD SLO debut! All jokes about sub-GTLM pace aside, the class looks really good on the screen and doesn't seem to harm much of the show of IMSA racing, can't wait to see how the class evolves and if it'll make itself distinct in regulations to cater to these pros a bit more!
I’m going here soon
Sad to see the Corvettes struggle with the gtlm package 😔
ya, then get slapped with more BoP...
I was hoping Kevin Estre would be racing...sigh. Already miss the #55 Mazda.
So we're basically down to 2 classes
Prototypes (3 classes) and GT cars (2 classes), no different than last year.
wow quick upload MERCI !!! ^^ ;)
Imsa is awesome
Imagine in 1980, starting 72nd on a provisional, drivers Lynn St.James, Tom Winter, Mark Welch, and finishing 5th in GTU, 17th over all, that was my prepared #81 Trinity Racing Mazda
I am late to the flag, but Welcome back IMSA I am all set for an awesome season!!
The size of the GT field 😯
cant wait for this weekend
2022 😍❤️
Just glad there is two mclarens on this grid
can someone explain to me why the LMP3 class gets its own pre-show race in the Prototype challenge while also racing in the big race (where they don't fit in at all?)
It's not the same drivers. In the previous race it's purely am drivers who are usually rich enough to afford it. But LMP3 is kind of redundant when you consider they are around as quick as the GTD cars while being worse overall.
@@adamb3129 LMP3 cars with full AM drivers are 1-6 seconds faster per lap than GTD cars depending on the track. LMP3 cars would probably be faster or roughly as fast per-lap as the old GTE's if they had pro drivers, depending on the track.
Next year, LMP3's are the natural fit for the LMDh era unless they slow down next-gen LMP2's in 2024. This can be seen with the problems that WEC has had with LMP2's being roughly as fast as the LMH's.
Will the actual race be broadcasted on RUclips too?
No, in the United States the race can only be streamed on Peacock.
I meant to ask for outside united states
IMSA.com/tvlive (geo-blocked in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Iceland, Baltics, New Zealand). You can always visit www.imsa.com/internationalcoverage/ for more info.
I hope I'm wrong, but...
Are we going to have to wait for the posting of the Pilot race here until after USA/NBC/Peacock FINALLY gets around to broadcasting it - almost a month after it happened - thanks to the Olympics taking precedence for them?
If so, here's an idea for the next time network rights are negotiated: a "snooze and lose" clause whereby the races can be posted on here no later than 10 days after occurrence - regardless if they've been broadcasted/streamed by then.
I'm working on it =)
💖🏎️i love le mans more than formula one.
10:40 for an eargasm
Is there a possibility to watch the 24h race form outside the us

I realize corvette and bmw will struggle with a semi new and brand new car but ferrari are obviously sandbagging right. risi were unusually slow to me
Hey, question for you. Why are the Vettes and BMW struggling? I thought they would be faster. Are modified to a point where it put them at a disadvantage?
@Dillon Alexander possibly a setup or bop issue for the bmw since its new. Corvette I think are struggling with the commercial Michelin tires in gtd vs the confidential tires from gtlm last year. They just haven’t got on top of that
@@jegilles6824 good to know.
Sad BOP for BMW and Corvette. Would be nice to see them more competitive.
I think they should Dyno the car for HP and then weigh the car to figure out BOP. All the other Data is where the games are played.
They already know the HP and weight of all the cars, that's not the issue.
1:44:51 The Super Ultra Late Braking or Double Crash fail, I think..
Just like in 2017...
Although, the roles were switched but the end result was the same.
Hi, can someone help me ? How much cars are present in this event ( per class ) ?
Example, 10 P1, 8 P2, 8 P3...
For every IMSA event, the Wednesday the week prior to the event weekend, the entry lists are posted to the event page and the entry number per class is listed. For this specific event you can check it out here: www.imsa.com/events/2022-roar-before-the-rolex-24/
Please just scroll down the page to RACE EVENTS and it lists all three race series (WeatherTech Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge and Prototype Challenge) that were at the event and the number of cars per class. IMSA.com is a great resource!
@@imsaofficial thank you
Serious radio audio issues going on during this broadcast. I hope they fix this for this weekend.
Umm @1:51 you're a bit off where Daytona is haha. It's not the St. Augustine 500 ;P
As previously stated, we think the folks who produce the video in Charlotte would prefer the race there, hence they just keep slightly moving the pin further north.
Finally a real motorsport in Daytona and no spectators.....
Spectators were in the garage/paddock. There will be more spectators next weekend.
Corvette and BMW are almost a second slower on their fast laps. Not sure why they both needed BOP penalties?
when is this race i could not find what channel or when it happens
Please visit the event page on IMSA.com. All the broadcast details for the Rolex 24 can be found there. Rolex 24 race coverage begins on NBC at 1:30 p.m. ET Jan. 29.

@NYC Actually i found it on regular tv on nbc
Intresting to see P2 cars get ahead over DPi during pit stops. How are the stint lengts for the classes during the race?
Dpi is like 35 -40 mins, the other prototypes are slightly longer and the gts are about an hour
@@SamOddy thx
Am I missing something or is this missing 1080p or 4k options?
720p is our production team's standard. Thanks.
