Relive all the action from the Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the eighth race of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.
Yes mate thanks I AM A SCCA MEMBER I Marshalled turn 2a that weekend. Good to be back at the track. To you John, Jeremy and (Shay) not sure about the spelling but cheers you guys are AWESOME.....your coverage is flawless as usual. I'm hoping I get to meet all of you at race weekend one day. Thank you to you all.
Time for another rant about sound. It would be nice if I could hear the commentary. For the middle part of the race I couldn't hear them at all, drowned out by the audio from the video feed. At Watkins Glen the voices were all distorted (clipping) for the first part of the race and again at the end. At Mid-Ohio or Belle Isle, can't remember which, John sounded like he got the cheap mic, like he was commentating over an old telephone. Year after year these problems continue, though thankfully the audio from Daytona was great this year. (That race is usually the worst.) I recall last year's Daytona was also good. Sebring was great this year too. An international broadcast corporation should be able to pull this off. (A high school A/V club should be able to handle the simple mixing issues, like balancing the camera bus with the voice bus.) Do you guys actually have a sound engineer? If so, maybe you need a sound producer - someone who can monitor everything (not just the studio monitors!) and notice these problems, then fix them. This is really elementary stuff that professional broadcasters should be embarrassed to present, and it gives the impression that IMSA doesn't care about production quality. This is important to me because 1) I love IMSA, 2) my hearing isn't great, and 3) it's hard to enjoy the racing I love when I spend so much time deciding whether it would be better with the sound muted. (I.e., it pulls focus from your product, and therefore your sponsors.) I have excellent equipment for playback, but give a fan watching from home something to work with! Voices should be clear above the background. That's not a big ask. It's really the basic minimum.
I was at the race and the LMP3s are fun to watch live. fast cars and super loud. The solo LMP3 race before this one was a blast to watch. Perhaps they bundle things up on the track but at least they're fun to watch run.
Oliver Jarvis - super nice guy, given. But he's binned so many of his own, not to mention other cars, I cannot for the life of me figure out how he still gets rides. Driving the 10 into the wall and then punting the 74 were both inexcusable for a driver of his "status".
Nothing in the world like IMSA! What racing between the Dpis. Can’t wait till next year when the LMDh field gets more diverse and the racing will get spicier I can imagine.
Imsa, v8 supercars and btcc has always had the best racing despite not getting the views it deserves. 1 lap of those has more passing then a whole F1 race!!
Thanks for uploading the full race for us all to enjoy. By the way, are you guys going to upload the second Mazda MX-5 race at Road America at some point?
How did the 10 not get a penalty for a pitstop in a closed pit? And even worse, how did the 10 not get a penalty for an obvious unsafe release, impeding two cars? Did Konica Minolta paid too much money to the stewards in order to get a penalty?
Thank you IMSA for the uninterrupted coverage. I do however have a couple of suggestions: I love the sound of the cars as much as anyone, but would also like to hear the commentary. During much of the coverage, the commentary was too quiet compared to the level of the car audio making it difficult to understand John & Jeremy. John Hindhaugh sounds like he's speaking into a tin can (all mid range, no bass on his voice). The sound quality of his voice has been bad (mid-range) since Bell Isle
And that’s the….uh……..number…….3…ah….Corvette Racing car in….GTD….Pro…….driven by………none other than……..ah……Jordan….Taylor Love the broadcasts and I definitely couldn’t do better but sometimes I’m like “spit it out!” I’m fine with dead air as long as I can hear engines roaring and gears whining John, Jeremy, and Shay are great though, can’t wait for IMSA 2023
Love the broadcasts but why does the commentary have a 1-2sec delay? It has been like this for many years. It's very annoying when there's something going on live (overtake, crash) and the commentators scream like 2 sec later after it has happened.
@@imsaofficial Thanks for answering IMSA!! Could the TV footage be delayed so it matches the commentary? In my country F1 commentary is remote too and don't seem to have the same issue. IMSA broadcasts are almost perfect, if you could get this thing right you would clearly become the benchmark for motorsport broadcasting: live, free, high quality, no ads, multiple onboard cameras, live timing... I've seen people complaining about this too. It's a shame.
IMSA racing is good but hard to hear the commentary due to effects Mike's turned up too loud. Jeremy is unable to be heard. John just barely heard. Shea was able to be heard due to her Mike being loud enough. TURN DOWN THE EFFECTS MIKES!!!
38:26 To the left, just past the flag stand, always amazed how at CTMP, you are behind a simple chain link fence. There's basic Armco trackside. It's not IF but WHEN a car or several get airborne and go into people. Compare this to the entire front straight at Watkins Glen. Tall, hooped safety fence with fan seating or areas situated well back from the track. I'm surprised CTMP is still like this. Seems like an oversight.
Corvette and their "Balance of Performance" in this series seems like a joke.Even over in Europe Corvette can be competitive.Who is allowing this to go on?Amateur drivers are better than Corvette`s top drivers?
Over the years I have come to severely dislike John Hindhaugh's commenting. He produces sensations out of nothing (I remember one race where he called a wet race for alleged rain drops on the windscreens, which were nothing more than air bubbles under the tear-offs) and too often puts himself in the shoes of the officials when he would be better off leaving it to them to judge. I often turn off the sound, unfairly to the other excellent commentors, just to escape the agony of listening to him. Back off, John! :(
Well, I'd watch but I hate listening to English narrators......Aren't there any CAnadians that can narrate this race?.....Any American's that can..........The English apparently have the total contract for all races around the world.............Ah hate listening to them..........
@@macroevolve John and Jeremy are on point... maybe even the best commentary sportscar racing had ever had. However, Shea is trying way too hard for my liking. Once the valley-girl giggles start, I can't help but tune out to anything she says.
I love IMSA! I love that this was on NBC from start to finish. It felt like being a kid and getting to eat at the adult's table. Great race.

glad to see such a well articulated complaint about this, it was bothering me too
Lmp3 should not be a part of this championship, every single race they make so many mistakes and ruin things for everyone else
I was at the race and the LMP3s are fun to watch live. fast cars and super loud.
The solo LMP3 race before this one was a blast to watch. Perhaps they bundle things up on the track but at least they're fun to watch run.
i was at the turn 5, its even better watching the whole thing, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the upload, had a great time spectating at turn 5 on Sunday!
chicken caesar wrap corner
Tracks with elevation changes are soo much better, like this one
Well worth waiting and not watching on the other network!
thank you RUclips 😊 I put in deposit on a C8 z06...don't have any money left for cable lol

Thanks for the upload. Great weather and a great race. See you next year
thx IMSA. congrats to all the winners, especially Pfaff Porsche. thx to the commentary team as well.
Thanks again imsa
thank you thank you and thank you

This raceing put F1 to shame
Thanks IMSA for the upload.

Boys came out to RACE! Keep the replays coming!!

Both MX-5 Cup races have already been published. Each went live within an hour or so following the actual race.

@@imsaofficial thanks for link, some reason that race is "Unlisted"
clearly...

Great race and great championship!! Thanks for uploading!
My favorite track, Moss Carousel then Andretti straight. Track is unique.
I 💖 IMSA
Thanks for this incredible 2022 IMSA race, IMSA! From Purwanti Allan, the diehard LoveLive fan.

Love you guys put my little guy driving his truck up !!!!
It will always be "Mosport" to me.

The commentary are remote, so not live at track in the booth. Thanks for your understanding.

Jarvis being very naughty! Should be blackflagged ….. caused two major incidents
Pls only protypes races

Nice race😍
The Andretti P3 car has been a bit of a wrecking ball all year.

Rooting for Porsche and Lexus because the RCF is my affordable dream car and the 911 is the dream car I can’t afford yet lol
Should have gone. Have gone every year since 2015. Sorry I missed it. Always a blast!
Jeremy's mic is way too low as usual.
Effect mikes need to be turned down. Hard to hear commentary. Jeremy Shaw is a soft spoken person.
Welcome To Chevrolet GP
Will you guys be uploading the Pilot CUP race from Last weekend also?
Thanks!!
See yall at LRP!
Well you can see bloomquist was pissed off his teammate let their car get past at the end of the race 😕

Going to F1 in Montreal, and this as well. 2023 is going to be a great year for watching racing.
