R.C. PRO AM was one of my favorite games as a kid.
The Next Gen. Super NES I really enjoy Rock n' Roll Racing. Boy really miss both of these games. Time to install a emulator again to play these games.
There was one year in my life where just the right people came to together in the right place and we always went to the local Legion bar, which I always voted for because it had R.C. racing on Arcade. :D
Hell yes!
I just hate how the cover of RC Pro-am rips off the look for Super Sprint. It always make me think of false advertising. SS and Indy heat were the best driving experiences.
Yes rc pro am was one of my favorite games as a kid
Double Dragon should have been included
Double Dragon is a great game dude. Glad you reminded me. Would have rather had that included than part 2. Hope you enjoyed the video chorse70. Hope to see you around again here at the channel!
Should have been River City Ransom. It rpg elemments and open world make it far superior than DD. I think DD gets more love only cuz more people know it from its arcade game.
River City Ransom ("Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari" in Japan) was much more popular in Japan than in the U.S., but became a cult classic here. I would fight tooth and nail for it's inclusion. My all-tiome favorite NES game.
Double dragon is a great game for sure but the NES version didn't have the 2 player coop like the original arcade version, instead it had a Mario bros style 2 player where you take turns, and also introduced a bizarre level up system where you can't perform all the moves until you reach a certain level.
Double dragon 2 fixed both these problems and focused on skill and execution, as well as allowing coop the way it was meant. I'm a big fan of both games but 2 is the better NES game.
Defo
Forgot about Ninja Turtles. Loved that game.
The best game on there!
I love Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. So glad this was included but your list was pretty good. Then reading comments though, lot of good games there too. I know licenses are expensive but dang, this thing should've come with a 100 games.
I hated the floor spikes. Other than that great game.
Contra wasn’t included due to a clerical error. Konami has a whole list they were planning to allow Nintendo to use on the classic mini, but someone missed some check boxes. It is seriously that simple, and very sad. Thank you Hakchi!!!
I don’t believe all that, when you see what the end result is and say “ok” this is a great list. No way they would go through a system with 20 games and not notice contra not being there and starting over?
1943, Duck tales, and at least one of the Ninja Turtles games should have been on the system.
Great choices rogue9ine! All great games. My cousins and I played 1943 quite a bit man. Great memories man! Hope you enjoyed the video man and I hope to see you around again here at the channel!
I second 1943! I loved that game too!
1943 was a must have.
loved duck tales and ninja turtles
Duck Tales and Ninja Turtles would be cool, but impossible to put on due to licensing
I wish they had a couple of Disney games in this. Duck Tales and Chip and Dales were surprisingly really good.
And aladdin
@@youraveragemorononyoutube4435 Aladin was on the SNES thou
Duck Tales!! Great game. The moon stage music is still amazing today
The lack of Contra was literally a dealbreaker for me. I only tried to get one after it had been hacked. I never would have been satisfied with it without Contra.
Yup I agree.
I was the same with not including Castlevania 3. The Castlevania and Contra collections came out on Steam and I bought a Japanese Famicom mini which also included another great game that the NES Classic missed. River City Ransom.
Pro Wrestling was awesome! One of my favorites of all time.
The Wizards and warriors shout out just took me back to memories I hadn’t reflected on in like 25 years, thanks.
Dude I love Wizards and Warriors. What an epic 8 bit gem!
Loved the music in this game
Instead of Wizards and Warriors I would have included Iron Sword. That game was awesome!!!
Could be licensing issues that prevent Wizard's and Warriors as well as the various other Acclaim games made for the NES from being reissuing. Some of those older games from defunct companies are trapped in licensing hell, with no completely clear answer on who owns the rights or which regions of the world those rights apply.
Nintendo likely didn't want to put in the effort of figuring out who, if anyone, specifically owns the rights to those games at the moment when setting up the NES Classic. Shame because I too like W&W.
What!? No Blades of Steel or Ducktales?!
I completely agree with Contra and RC Pro Am. What about RBI baseball? I loved that game.
Apart from Ice Hockey, its the best game on the NES!!
Mod it with hakchi and you get RBI and RBI 2 and 3! ton of videos and resources on youtube to show you how! my NES classic has 800+ games on it now!
I was going to mention RBI Baseball. My favorite baseball game, maybe of all time. I spent days at a time playing that when I was a kid
bases loaded
I got RBI I need Blaster Master
TMNT was a must. Pick between all 4 turtles and the game play was so great .
Animated-Psycho there must be some licensing issue or something because i was shocked that at least one of the turtles games werent on the classic. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
I will definitely be sticking around to check out more videos my friend keep up the fantastic work.
Double Dribble, Jordan vs Bird, Kung Fu, Ring King.....LOVED EM!!!!
Great List . Especially Ring King. Very underrated boxing game. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
I second Double Dribble, great Bball game! I mean what Konami game wasn't good back then?
I had to go buy a real Ring King NES cartridge and a Retro-Bit console because it didn't come on the NES Mini and i wanted to re-live that part of my childhood.
bubble bibble
Ever played Jordan vs. Bird playing to 1,000. It took me 5 hours to beat Bird 1,000 to 890.
I never played DuckTales and I keep hearing how good it was, so that would've been a good addition for those who haven't played it, myself included. Also, kid Niki and gunsmoke.
Gunsmoke was great. I added to the NES mini afterwards. Very underrated game.
Hack it = problem solved
Agreed lol. I've added some games to mine myself. Thanks for watching and commenting!
GenerationGapGaming Adding games ftw 😂😂😂😂😂
Done and done. I have the (currently) complete Classic line up. Had one hacked so all the rest stay in the box, and I have pretty much everything I could want on hand.
Ever Supreme lol. short ass controller though.
@@dman3438 I got the answer to that as well game on player lol

Let's go! Totally agree with Contra and Castlevania 3 and Battletoads!!!
What lol??
GenerationGapGaming I wanted to get first
Comment so I just wrote anything but I wanted to comment on the video so
I wrote "this will be edited" lol
Oh ok lol. That's pretty clever!
Thanks Jay! Always honored to have you comment and watch our stuff. Cant wait until Southeast Game Exchange man!
RC pro am and battle toads are rare games and rare was bought by Microsoft they are on rare replay for xbox one
At 2.4k comments, I can’t imagine someone hasn’t said this, but, I think a lot of your list boils down to licensing. Nintendo didn’t wanna shell out the money to secure the rights to a lot of those games and split the profits with a third-party developers. Also I’m glad to hear that someone besides me thinks Dr. Mario is a waste of time I never like that game
First thing that I thought as well. But hey, they were nice enough to leave enough memory so we can add the whole library.
Licensing and it was rushed. This was a "get it out by holiday" type release, during a year where Nintendo basically had nothing else for that holiday season.
One game that I loved for the NES was Crystalis. I loved LoZ but Crystalis was a much better version of a action RPG but it came out right around when the SNES, so it was forgotten about.
Vincent you aren't the first to tell me about Crystalis. I need to try it cause it sounds like I would love it. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to comment man! Hope to see you around again here at the channel!
Oh man, Crystalis was a game that was ahead of its time on the NES! Gameplay, story, visuals... It was a masterpiece.
GenerationGapGaming Hey, I have to say, Crystalis was by far my favourite NES game. I can't find a regular NES console even though I have found the game itself. DAMN YOU WORLD! Honestly though, try it out.
Timothy Caster it is the next game on my list to find tomorrow at a retro convention. I know I will love it. Thanks man.
It was alot more fun than Star Tropics
RC Pro-AM and Battletoads were made by Rare, now owned by Microsoft. You can get them on an Xbox in Rare Replay.
Clash At Demonhead, Castlevania 3, Ducktales, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, River City Ransom, Dragon Warrior, Strider, Mega Man, Mega Man 3 and Contra would be mine.
But I wouldn't take anything away from the classic.
Jason those are some awesome titles dude that would be well deserved to be on the classic edition. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
River city ransom for me is the best game on the system.
Chip And Dale 🖒🖒🖒
tetris, marble madness, and castlevania 3 are the only 3 i really wish were included. never bought an nes classic because those 3 games are missing. did buy the snes classic even though i was really disappointed that crono trigger is missing.
Hakchi2 and RUclips tutorials solved this issue, got my favs on my NES mini now 😅 Thanks Hakchi2👍
jackal is an awesome game. It’s fun to play, and the music is great.
Everyone is hating on Balloon Fight but Satoru Iwata programmed that game when he first started in the industry, and is very much part of modern Nintendo's DNA. The NES Classic didn't "have" to exist, because there's already solutions to playing these games without it. I'm not an expert on every game that's included, but it seems to be a love letter to the people in Ninendo's history.
Dev Chang be that as it may, balloon fight was still doo doo lol
Balloon Fight was a clone of Joust ported to the NES and resprited.
not only that
without balloon fight there would not be a super mario bros. game, since the programming of it was copied and pasted into the water levels
the owner of this channel does not make a single research before spitting out his nonsense
@@Thumper770 I would have preferred the HAL version of Joust. I heard Iwata worked on that one as well, and he used what he learned from that experience to improve Balloon Fight, which was apparently very janky on the Famicom.
I still can't believe they didn't put Paperboy on the classic.
Also, I love Dr. Mario! 👨⚕️
Batman NES should´ve been incluided.
@@miltontavares9506 they would have never paid for the license for Batman. No way it would’ve been on there.
Spy Hunter was one of my favorites and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1
I just got my NES classic a few days ago, and for the most part I have the same feelings about what was and was not included. I do think there are a few others that should have made the cut; Dragon Warrior, Bionic Commando, Metal Gear, 1943, Spy Hunter, NES Baseball, and Double Dribble really needed to be included on the console. Along with that, I wished they had put the first Double Dragon instead of the sequel because the gameplay and movement control were much better, and traded Gradius for Lifeforce due to it being a far superior game. I also think that we could have lived with only two Super Mario Bros. titles, preferably foregoing SMB 2, and leaving out Zelda 2; although it was a pretty good game, the movements were a bit jerky, and that made it frustrating during boss battles.
I absolutely LOVES Simon's Quest. My favorite Castlevania!
That's cool Nathanial. I wish I liked it honestly. I have tried lol. Maybe I should try again. Hope you enjoyed the video man and I hope to see you around again here at the channel!
The dungeon floor spikes is what always bothered me most about it. I prefer 3 not just because it’s better but because it’s one of my favorites for the NES.
Thank you for including Wizards & Warriors! That was one of my favorite/frustrating games. 🎮
The thing is, DK & DK Jr have massive nostalgia factors.... Also they do play quite well on the NES, for those who can't go to an arcade or set up MAME
Pro wrestling should have been included. With wrestling being as popular as it is, this two player title was a no-brainer.
Exactly Joe! In the words of AVGN..."What were they thinking?" lol. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
GenerationGapGaming They obviously weren’t thinking of their American audience. We love wrestling here. Moreover, this game was so good that if it were made available to play on smartphones, people would STILL be playing it. A sadly missed opportunity. And yes, I’ll see you around!
To the best of my knowledge, PW hasn't even been released on the virtual console. There must be some weird licensing problem. Absolutely awesome game with simple but effective fighting mechanics.
Feardrinker Don’t forget the admittedly generic but ACCURATE representation of the different wrestling styles seen across the globe! King Slender and The Great Panther were the flashy Americans; think Hulk Hogan and Rick Flair. Star man and The Amazon were the Luchadors. Fighter Hayabusa was the Japanese wrestler...you get it. Coupled with the aforementioned fighting mechanics, and we have an easily accessible, well rounded game.
One of my favourites! Also it is a Nintendo property so there is no licensing fees either
I mostly agree with your list Tyler. However, I would’ve included TNMNT due to its insane popularity at the time this game released, plus the game is actually very good. TNMNT 2: The Arcade Game was really fun too but if I had to pick one it would’ve been the original.
And lastly, I would’ve picked either Ice Hockey or Blades of Steel.
teenage ninja mutant ninja turtles?
Rygar is one of my all time faves 🙏🏻
No doubt Hot Science Music! Rygar is an epic all time classic. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
The music was awesome too.
Why is Simon's Quest included on the NES Classic? Two reasons:
1. It's one of the most influential games of all time. Its fingerprints are all over the Metroidvania genre, as it's the game that directly inspired Symphony of the Night.
2. Two words: Bloody.Tears.
Seriously, Simon's Quest has one of the best sountracks in the NES library. There's a reason the song chosen for the best scene of the Castlevania Netflix series.
Mike Tyson's Punch out,and Track n Field ,and Double Dribble
Cortney Lott yes that’s a classic and it was not included that’s just wrong😔
But punch out is on there...
@@imperialjoe8023 punch out where? What number ? Under what name because I don't see it on there.
@@cortneylott4951 it’s simply called punch out, instead of mike Tyson’s punch out. In 1990 when Nintendo‘s contract with Mike Tyson ran out, they did not renew it. They re-released Mike Tyson‘s Punch out as just “punch out”. Both games are exactly the same except Mike Tyson‘s sprite was replaced.
@@imperialjoe8023 what number of 620 games build in ?
Tecmo Superbowl should of definitely been on there!!
Mark I totally agree man and i even contemplated putting it on my list but since the original tecmo bowl was on there i thought people would give me crap about it, but yes Tecmo super bowl was way better than the first. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
That's a licensing issue. Tecmo Super Bowl had NFL teams, and the Madden series has exclusive NFL rights.
Tecmo bowl is already in it
Aaah, okaayy
Spy Hunter
Spy Hunter is an awesome game Marshall! Loved the arcade version too. Gotta find that red truck lol!!! Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
Or super spy hunter
Great video! One of my all time favorite games for the NES was Rush-N-Attack. Maybe it doesn't deserve to be on this list, but it should at least get an honorable mention.
Urghh I would so love to play Battletoads...that game is just amazing.
Kung Fu
William I totally agree dude. I almost included it in my top 10. I even have a Kung Fu shirt I have worn in a few of our videos lol. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
That was the first game I got for Nintendo
First game I beat
Agreed with your top 10 to be included. I’m one of the few that loved Simon’s Quest so I’d actually keep that one in.
I love simons quest. Great soundtrack, challenging, time consuming in a good way.
Wizards and Warriors kicks my arse STILL. Me and my best friend growing up would play this game ALL DAY!!
My wish list:
- Kung Fu
- 1943
- Contra
- TMNT
- Battletoads
Not my choices but respect
TMNT and Battletoads can't be included, because they are licensed games
@@vt2animalsandvlogs The system includes several licensed, third party games: Castlevania (Konami), Double Dragon II (Technos), Ghosts 'n Goblins (Capcom), just to name a few.
@@ryanh.3192 Fair enough, but Battletoads is owned by Microsoft, and I don't know what company made the TMNT game
@@vt2animalsandvlogs Yeah I'm sure the licensing costs for those franchises was more than Nintendo was willing to pay.
Baseball stars. Most underrated game ever!!!
Albert EinsteinJr Baseball Stars was the first sports game you could create players, a team, and build up with cash you won in games. Beating the Lovely Ladies gave you the most cash!
great game
@@user-th6eb3oh7v First game to have a grind aspect. I used the American Dreams to outscore teams by 10 runs which triggered the mercy rule. You could beat a team in 1 or 2 innings. I remember searching for players with the highest max potential. It didn't matter if their stats were low. It was about max potential. Having a team so powerful they could swing from the bunt position and still hit a home run was awesome.
Loved this game! Only thing I hated was that my super team would eventually get erased somehow and I'd have to start all over.
best childhood baseball game. i own it but i never hear anyone talk about. where all my ninja black sox at.
Agree with contra, battletoads, and C3. You forgot about some rather epic games like; 1942, Dragon Warrior, Tecmo Super Bowl (tecmo bowl is a mess), Ninja Turtles, and super off road!
How about 1943 instead??
Took forever to find another super off rpad junkie in the comments
You have my vote for Rygar and Wizards and Warriors. Those are two great games that I remember stumbling through in order to complete them.
Castlevania 2 is one of my favorite games of all times. Also introduced the world to bloody tears, one of the best songs ever in video games.
I’m willing to bet Konami had something to do with Contra not being on there. Yeah, I know there are other Konami games on the system, but I imagine they might have been asking for too much money to license Contra, because Konami is a shit company nowadays. I definitely think Nintendo tried, but instead had to settle for Super C. Personally I like Super C better but I’m in the minority - most people prefer the original, and that’s fine. Either way, it’s super simple to mod the thing and add literally every NES game onto it.
0:57 ahhhh well avgn had a lot of things to say about it
My NES CLASSIC has all of these games.😀 Hak chi for life!. Good pic for 10 games.
Yeah Rody. NES classic is amazing. I need to hack it to get all the games but I'm afraid I'll brick it lol. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Hope you enjoyed the video and I hope to see you around again here at the channel!
Heres your gold star. Haha, the smell of desperation.
What's the smell of desperation??
I absolutely loved Maniac Mansion. The fact that any group can be used to beat the game and there's so many different endings made it's replay value through the roof. Yeah, the only bad thing was the pointer. If they could have just done two little tricks it would have made it work so much better: pressing select would take the pointer from the screen to the command list then hitting it again would immediately put it back to where it was and holding B could make the arrow move much faster.
If the argument about the arcade ports (pacman, galaga, donkey kong) is that they should be played on arcade with a joystick, the same argument could be made for Maniac Mansion. On PC it has better graphics and controls, so...
I think that the main point of the classic mini is nostalgia. Those games (Donkey Kong, Maniac Mansion) were huge on the system and if someone played them as a child, they will like to have them on the classic mini.
Your list couldn't be more SPOT ON!!!! Excellent list and you were not annoying, good job!
Where is Tecmo Cup Soccer game? Best graphics and music on NES. Hands down😎
Nintendo obviously doesn’t care about its customers. They hardly made enough of these consoles and should have made it have an option to purchase and play more games .
Axel Nintendo does make me question their ideas sometimes, but at the end of the day they are a business so you know what that means lol. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
I'll admit, I didn't realize this was a troll video until you mentioned Battletoads. Not only were the characters cheap TMNT knock-offs, not only was the game crap, but it was broken crap. There was a game-stopping bug that made it literally impossible to finish the game in 2 player mode.
You really had me going until then, though, with those other reasonable and well thought out choices.
Hey man! Didn't know about the glitch for the two player mode that's insane dude. Obviously you didnt like battletoads but I hope you enjoyed the video otherwise. Hope to see you around again here at the channel!
GenerationGapGaming Loved Battletoads! Admittedly, never played 2 player but had plenty of fun in single player. And yes, I beat it in 7 weeks (although I probably played it 12 hours a day lol)
lol, yeah I enjoyed it, but I had to poke fun at you for Battletoads. :)
It always rubbed me the wrong way that they dissed the TMNT in their advertising campaign (plus the whole glitch thing).
+Warlocke000
I've never gotten close to beating it in one-player or two-player, so I was completely unaware of the glitch!
That is nonsense, everyone was playing Battletoads back in the 90s. Definitely a defining game for the NES.
Dragon Warrior was my favorite as a kid
@Tom Ffrench how does it change the fact it was my favorite game exactly? Are you trying to tell me I didn't love it as much as I remember?
Trojan, tmnt, kull, master chu and the drunkard hue, Friday the 13th, kung-fu. These are some other ones greats.
Not bad but dude how about Tmnt ninja turtles.
Hey Fidel! I would be cool with one of the TMNT games on the classic. Im shocked it wasnt on there. Im sure it was some licensing issue or something. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
TMNT 2 would've been even better! Surprised neither TMNT game was there; makes sense if it was licensing. Was also surprised not seeing Duck Tales. I thought it was popular. Bunch of other fun (but maybe not as popular) games missed the cut too -- Renegade, Strider, and R.C. Pro Am, just to name a few.
Luke Daniell Wolverine or x-men too.
I even liked superman, batman, return of the joker, robocop, gremlins 2, jurassic park, star wars, star trek, predator.
Finishing rygar as a kid was one of my most celebrated accomplishments. With no continues we left the console powered on for a full week. My parents were under strict warning that if they turned it off i would run away.
Lucky you didn´t have a blackout!
Your video makes me want to add those games to my NES mini, but having NES games on Switch online makes me lazy to do it. 😅
Batman should be on the nes classic
Yes it should p0labecool123. I think it is due to some licensing issue but it's an awesome game for sure. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
oh yeah, that was a good one too!
Ice Hockey.
Ice hockey is a phenomenal game dude. great box art too! Hope you enjoyed the video man!
Mario Bros. Donkey Kong, and Donkey Kong. Jr are amazing! putting on them the NES Classic Edition was amazing considering I had one, although I was moving and it went missing, still looking for it
7:33 No no, flip the yellow blue one over so the blue part will fall on the blue germ....
I didn't think it'd be possible for anyone to be that bad at Dr Mario. Great game, just...
I don't know, GIT GUD? But the game's almost 40 years old, that ship long gone...
I'd put river city ransom, adventures of lolo, solomons key, master blaster, bionic commando, mighty final fight and ducktales
That's a great list of games too Josh. All solid choices
You'll find some of these on the famicom mini. Solomon key and a few from the River City Ransom series
Mighty final fight..hell yeah
I’m liking the shouts out for Solomon’s Key. My friends hated that game, but I liked it because each level challenged your skill around obstacles and enemies.
Tetris, Battletoads, Ducktales, rbi baseball 4, Renegade, Ice Hockey, Super Dodge Ball, Marble Madness, Spy Hunter, and T&C Surf.
i was starting to think i was the only person who remembers marble madness. such a fun and addictive game.
i really wish tetris was on there. i've been watching tetris tournaments and learning a lot, it really makes me want to play it and i only want to play the nes version, none of these stupid modern tetris games that change the game drastically.
Baseball Stars!!!
FAR ahead of its time. Creating teams, playing a league season, getting money as your teams gets more fans so you can power up your players, trading players...and the ability to save all that.
It is one of my all time favorite games ever!
Why not ,Whomp'em, Captain America and the Avengers, Buckey O'hare, Ninja Gaiden 3...? Oh yeah most of the games mentioned Nintendo is unwilling to pay for cause they want the most money out of the deal and that's why we ended up with crap like Ice Climber and other games they developed. Plus their re-release still has a short controller cord and is completely unchanged. Seems like they don't give a crap about loyal fans anymore, money grubbing savages.
Hey Lee. I do hate that they didnt include some all time classics just to save some money but I still love my classic edition. Hope you enjoyed the video dude! Hope to see you around again here at the channel!
Lee Fischer I'm shocked Devil World didn't make the cut. Google it.
Luis Reyes , Devil World is an awesome one no doubt! You also can't forget Holy Diver and Splatter house Wanpaku Graffiti ;-)
Nintendo’s a business yo
You can add them using hackchi
Yeah I know KingGoji but Im afraid to brick my classic edition lol. Hope you enjoyed the video man and hope to see you around again here at the channel!
@@GenerationGapGaming lol. But good video.
Ive got 2 nes classics, and a super nes classic all jailbroken...its so worth adding the games.......
Ziggybam Murphy how does one do this method? I just bought the classic nes
I actually have a friend that does them...i gave him a couple bucks and he did them...theres games on it ive never even see or heard of
I actually happened to love Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest and Dr. Mario!
+1. He's not taking away my Simon's Quest! I love the RPGs element to it, I fleshes out the world of Castlevania and the music is phenomenal! I happen to like Dr. Mario too btw.
This is a very unique list... I didn't expect to see many of these
The sports titles/fans definitely got shafted with the selection. Bases Loaded, Ice Hockey/Blades of Steel, and Double Dribble. Throw in California Games and Super Spike Volleyball. Great call on RC Pro Am racing and Paperboy. Two games with great replay ability and fun for small groups. Can't take off Simon's Quest though....that game is underrated IMO. A precursor to many of the modern games today(God of War, Darksiders, Zelda), in which its an action/adventure in which you have upgrade/enhance your abilities, explore the world and puzzle solve.
#9 Pro Wrestling & Mario Bros was My Family's favorite games growing up. I don't know if it on the nes classic but Joust is a fun game, beating the almost invisible pterodactyl by hitting it at the right angle was exciting.
Just found this channel. I was a diehard Nintendo follower all the way up to the Wii-U! And when I heard they canceled the Wii-U so shortly after it had been released?? Well I spent $700+ on the system, games, a 2nd controller......yeah after the Wii-U got canceled I canceled my loyalty. Traded in my Wii-U towards a PS4. Spent $700 on the Wii-U and didn't even get HALF of it back! But.....I still LOVE Nintendo's old systems. Sh*t I still have a Super Nintendo and a bunch of games!
Confession time.....I did wind up buying a Nintendo Switch lite. But I only have like 5 or six games. So I'm still pissed at Nintendo for that but Nintendo was the first home system I played and will always hold a special place in my heart! The old systems anyways, Nintendo GameCube and older. Had a Nintendo Wii and just never seriously got into it. Wound up trading THAT towards the Wii-U.
I wish paper boy was included to
Paperboy is so much fun great value! Hope you enjoyed the video man and I hope to see you around again here at the channel.
How could it not have river city ransom or super dodge ball by far the best games on nes or was i just wierd..
Barf
WEIRD
River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball. Learned about those games almost by mistake but they are the two NES games I have played the most for sure!!
Strider would have been nice also!:) Still the selection isn't bad. But I would've been willing to pay an extra 50$ to add another 30 games!:)
Thank you for an awesome video, G3! I really like- and agree with your list of games, which should have been included. I actually like all three of the Castlevania games to the NES, but agree that Castlevania 1 and 3 are superior to Castlevania 2. If it was up to me, I would also have included Faxanadu, Cobra Triangle, Goonies 2, NES Tennis and Mega Man 1 to the list of games. 🙂
Bionic Commando
Oh wow Beerman you're right dude. How could I forget that game. Timeless classic. Hope you enjoyed the video man! Hope to see you around again here at the channel!
Rygar, Bionic Commando and Zelda. Best Games Everrrrrr
Super Spike V’Ball!
Makoeyes 21 heck ya
Makoeyes 21
One of my childhood favorites
Super Dodgeball was awesome! Even helped kids learn that other countries existed! Lol
legendary wings, ice hockey and renegade was my favs.
Balloon fight for the game boy was nice though. I don't really remember the NES version. Yes battletoads is a classic! Solid list.
Balloon fight, Donkey Kong and Mario Bros arcade deserve their spot in the NES classic, they were initially console released. Castlevania 2 is in instead because it's more timeless, Castlevania 3 was released later in the NES era and was essentially a bigger version of Castlevania 1
List of Missing NES games that should've been included on the NES classic.
1: The Little Mermaid, 2: Super Tecmo Bowl, 3: Sesame Street ABCs, 4: Sesame Street 123s, 5: Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 1 and 2, 6: Ducktales 1 and 2, 7. Spot: The Video Game, 8. Willow, 9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1, 2, 3, 10: Ninja Gaiden 2 and 3, 11: Dragon Warrior 1, 2, 3, 4, 12: Gauntlet, 13: Faxanadu, 14: Rad Racer, 15: Roger Clemens’ MVP Baseball, 16: Double Dribble, 17: Mario is Missing, 18: Mario's Time Machine, 19: Final Fantasy 2 and 3 from Famicom, 20: Bad Dudes, 21: Double Dragon 1, 3, 22: Crystalis, 23: Battletoads, 24: Festers Quest, 25: The Addams Family and Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt, 26: Cool World, 27: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, 28: The Simpsons games, 29: Little Sansom, 30: The Flintstones Surprise at Dinosaur Peak, 31: The Jetsons, 32: Hook NES, 33: Yoshi's Cookie and Yoshi, 34: Bionic Commando, 35: Metal Gear, 36: Snakes Revenge, 37: Star Tropics 2 Zoda's Revenge, 38: Back to the Future II and III, Mega Man 1, 3, 4, 5, 6.
I agree Balloon Fight, Ice Climbers and Pac Man is not fun. I never liked playing Pac Man the arcade game since it's so boring and you die too easily and there's no ending. Pac Man arcade is overrated and is my least favorite game of all time.
I was very disappointed they excluded Ninja Gaiden 3, The Little Mermaid, Ducktales, Dragon Warrior 1, 2, 3, 4, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1, 2, 3. How dare they exclude Ninja Gaiden 3, Dragon Warrior games and Ducktales and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Sesame Street, Super Tecmo Bowl, those are my favorite NES games of all time and I would've put them in the list they left out all 4 Dragon Warrior 1, 2, 3, 4 games especially Mega Man 3 which is very disappointing to me.
Heck, even the Nintendo Wii, Wii U and 3DS had a better selection of NES games on virtual console which I prefer over the NES classic mini.
I do have the Famicom Mini and Famicom Mini Gold with Japanese Famicom games like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy 3 but I can't understand Japanese very well. I'm going to have to buy a raspberry pi and put in the NES games like The Little Mermaid, Sesame Street, Dragon Warrior 1, 2, 3, 4, Super Tecmo Bowl, Ducktales, TMNT that the NES Mini left out.
YAS. Why the heck wasn't Pro Wrestling on the Classic?!?! 30 years later and can still hear the sound of The Amazon munching on my players's face, while that catchy little jingle plays in the background. LOL.
Wow, I completely agree with all 10 of your choices, and all 10 of the games to exclude from the NES Classic. Good job!
Couldn’t agree more...how about little Nemo dream master, and monster in my pocket, but still a great list, I’d buy your mini console before I bought theirs...
Lifeforce and Baseball Stars. Rad Racer was a good pick, the music is great. Batman would have been cool too
Definitely agree that battletoads and castlevania 3 should have been on it. I actually played casltevania 3 before the other 2 when I was a kid.
I don't think that people would agree with your Simon's quest an allergy Simon's quest is awesome
Man I was born in 2000 but even I know Battletoads!!!....COME ON!! Great video bro
I agree up until you get to Castlevania 2. Yes it was a weak game but it also introduced things that would be in later CV games. Different weapons, an open world, character interactions and the iconic Bloody Tears track would all show back up in the 'Metroidvania' style of games in some form. Like it or not CV 2 planted some seeds that would define the series in later years.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Great channel
Thanks so much. Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and yours as well!!!
I miss Konami's Life Force, Capcom's 1942, and Ultra's Skate or Die. I agree that Rad Racer and RC Pro Am should have been included, though.
What I really enjoy upon discovering your video is how many of the games you listed I added to the Classic after getting it. On the same page! I am okay with some of the games being on there because my young daughter got herself broken in playing those when I got it--they are boring to us but good starters for the small ones. What blew my mind was that they could have started with 60 games instead of 30 and included all the ones you listed! I mean, why not?! The hard drive is big enough for 1000 ROMs, so I don't get where 30 came from.
This is probably the best top ten list I have ever seen on any subject.
Blades of Steel, Batman and Bionic Commando should be there too. And that’s just the Bs. Golf and there were three baseball games I liked as well, I think they were Major League, RBI and Tecmo?
I’m not even a huge fishing game fan but I loved Black Bass and Black Marlin and neither were on there
Dude you said it!..all 3 R.C. Proam, Wizards and Warriors, and Contra were must haves I can't believe there not included, btw Ironsword would've also been awesome, and since your such a RC proam, have you tried Championship Proam on the Genesis?
Great list! Besides the ones that you've mentioned (especially Rygar and Contra), my picks would be: Dragon Warrior(Quest) series, Batman, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Faxandu, Swords and Serpents, Astanyx, Battle for Olympus, Xevious,Magmax, Karate Champ, Rambo(yeah, I know it was ridiculous but still) , Predator, Friday the 13th, Joust, Karpov,
and so many,many more.
i swear as a kid i probably pumped hundred of quarters into Rygar arcade stand up. ahh the good ole days.
Thinking about modding mine, I've come up with a short list of games that should have been on it from the get-go (some are also on your list):
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game
2. Blades of Steel
3. Contra
4. Batman
5. Golf
6. Big Bird's Hide and Speak
7. Battletoads
8. Ducktales
9. Mother
10. Dragon Warrior
