I live in Tennessee. My mother is 87 years old and lives alone in Minnesoata. I put WYZE cams in her hose to keep an eye on her. They do the job perfectly!
I bought 3 of these and I am setting them up this weekend. My Wife and I are headed out of the country and we want to make sure the Nanny understands that we are watching, no shenanigans and the kids need to behave as well. I almost bought cameras (not as good as these) for 200 a camera. Then I heard about Wyze from my Brother. He uses them in his house and he loves them!
I have installed five in my home and I love them. They are a great investment. The average cost for a home in Ontario last month was $559'000 dollars so $25 to $35 U.S. per camera to monitor your investment while you are at work or on a trip is a fantastic deal.

@NarrowPath not really and I haven't found any solid claim where this security issue was true. I actually did ended up buying 2 for outdoor uses. For indoors if I get a cam it would be to monitor only when I'm not home. Privacy concerns in these use cases don't bother me.
The Wyze Cam is perfect for my use case. I'm helping my inlaws fix up a house they're planning to rent out that stays empty most of the time while work gets done on weekends. I planned to install a Ring Doorbell (which I'm using on my own home) to keep an eye on the entranceway. However, the Ring has a $30/year fee plus the ~$200 cost of the unit and it needs installation, it will only push video to the cloud (no local storage), and I won't need it once it has a tenant. The Wyze Cam will record events to an SD card, no wiring besides power, sends motion alerts, and is cheap! I can set up one facing out the front window and another facing out the back when the place is empty.
I have one mounted in a fake bird house aimed at our front door. It has survived several rainstorms (w/lightening). No problems encountered, except for the Blue Jay! A second one is mounted under the eve facing down on our cars. Again, no problems. Even though these are not outdoor cameras, they are working for me...and mostly protected from direct sunshine or rain. A third one is in my garage watching my CNC work while I sit in the office away from the noise.
I have the pan version which rotates 360 degrees. Quality is really good. I found that I can connect to my mobile hot spot and don't need to go through a router with WiFi. This will enable me to use it at an upcoming huge family reunion of 200 people and share the link with a person several states that can't make it due to a major illness. No WiFi at the park. The key will be how good the cell reception is in the park. This will be awesome.
+Larry Witt that sounds like a great use for it. We also did a review on the Wyze Cam Pan ruclips.net/video/pj1-Aivj-Zw/видео.html but one thing I breifly show at the very end ruclips.net/video/pj1-Aivj-Zw/видео.htmlm40s is that you can actually connect the camera to a portable power charger which would be useful if there isn't an outlet at the park for your reunion.

Love the idea with a "fridge guard"! My WyzeCams are used to monitor pets and access to house. works well. But before I actually purchased myself, I was guiding a friend in California, who's horse was about to have a foal. She wanted "monitoring", but the stable would not allow her access to the WiFi on premises (sort of crazy, but that's another story). In order to create a work around, I recommended creating a LTE supported local WiFi using a "MiFi puck", but as she had an an older LTE iPad laying around, we settled on using that one connected to her VZW account. And voila, it worked! Pretty great - even though the LTE coverage is crappy. Can take a few tries to connect to camera, but that seems only to be initially, and the device has been up and running now for over 4 weeks. It is not always "live" but video comes in bursts of 2-5 seconds. Considering the need/objective and the amazingly low cost, combined with no access to local WiFi, this ended up being a great solution. Foaling went well, and today we can both watch and listen to the horses from far away (I am out of state). Even though video can come in bursts, audio feed is "live", unbuffered, and does not suffer at all from the poor LTE service in the area.
What software version is this? I bought one of these this week and the control panel has almost none of the options you show. Have they eliminated all of the motion detection and notification features in recent software releases?

I have a question. I want to use this camera to watch my Appartment while I’m gone for 3 months. I’ll be 3 hours away from home. Will my phone app for this camera work good? Or do I have to be a certain distance to be able to see the recordings and alerts?
Can someone confirm, I was reading somewhere, not sure if it’s true. That if you have motion detection it will record for 12 seconds and then shut off for about 5 mins. BUT if you have an SD card, it will continue to record.... My question is, will it continue to record with the person watching the live feed? How does the 24/7 streaming work then?
He said the price is $20-$25. That's true. On Amazon, sometimes wyze product become "out of stock, need back order" and price of wyze cam drops. I payed $26 when I bought my first wyze cam. It arrived at my house in only 2days. Last month, I purchased 3 additional wyze cams for $19 each, (Yes I was lucky) those took 10 days for delivery.
Won't be surprised if it's made by Xiaomi as it is exactly the same as the Xiao Fang. This version shown here supports English though and that's cool. Amazon don't ship this to my location, too bad. Anyways, im happy with my xiao Fang, good video buddy!
The hardware is the same but Wyze has much better software and now it integrates with IFTTT. u have been using them to work with my smart things Home security system. (Indoors Only).
Ok, what about WyzeTao information.... Our camera uses HTTPS secured channel when communicating to the cloud and the mobile client. It uses AES 128-bit encryption mechanism for audio/video data transportation. Even if data is intercepted, hackers won't be able to view due to AES encryption. ThroughTek is the streaming solution provider for WyzeCam. It creates a channel to connect the phone/tablet and the camera. The cameras connect to their servers contently. When a phone tries to connect, it talks to the ThroughTek servers to connect. ThroughTek have servers located in different countries. That was why this thread was created. We did know ThroughTek servers are in between although we do not have a list of IPs for their servers (they are dynamic). After this thread was opened, we asked ThroughTek to confirm all the IP listed. They were confirmed to be ThroughTek servers. As I mentioned, we are in discussion with them to limit all WyzeCam traffic to North America. We have not reached a conclusion yet. Talking between two companies (especially with time difference) takes time. We will update once a conclusion is made. Thanks! ????????
I bought one and located it in the garage. I can tell when someone comes home as the doors open. Also can check if I remembered to close the garage doors (without driving back home).
I need one of these for security in my apartment. I've moved to a new neighborhood and I am worried that someone is coming into my house when I am gone. Yikes!
I use a Windows 10 Laptop to monitor 4 Wyze Cam v2s using Blue Stacks N (Android 7 emulator) and tinyCam Pro. My question is, will it continue to record with the person watching the live feed?
How does the 24/7 streaming work then?
Perfect for watching my elderly Aunt that insists on staying at home instead of going to an assisted living home.
smart woman, just take care of her wherever she wants/needs to be
He said the price is $20-$25.
Assuming the first one works well, I would get enough to monitor both yard gates, the back door, and driveway. Already have for the front door.
I love it I have one facing my drive way with an outdoor case install bought it separately
Won't be surprised if it's made by Xiaomi as it is exactly the same as the Xiao Fang. This version shown here supports English though and that's cool. Amazon don't ship this to my location, too bad. Anyways, im happy with my xiao Fang, good video buddy!
+Aloysius Gomes yeah the hardware looks pretty much the same as the Xiao Fang doesn't it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thanks!
The hardware is the same but Wyze has much better software and now it integrates with IFTTT. u have been using them to work with my smart things Home security system. (Indoors Only).
It is the same hardware, there are firmware mods that run on both it is the same board in side just different firmware.
Good video. Can these wyze cameras, which automatically stream on Google nest hub when it detects motion.
Affordable and functional for monitoring tools in my shed, garage, and or porch. Hope a outdoor camera will be available soon.

So impressive! Would make the perfect doggo cam.
My friends use theirs as a doggo cam. I use mine as a kitty cam.
Thank u for all ur vids goin smart home to help me with my disability
Nice Video.. If I won I would use it to monitor my Garage.
I got one at Amazon. It work pretty good. I use it to watch and talk to my dog.
I would use it to watch my pets when I am not home or set up a live weather cam.
Do i have to use the wyze cloud storage or can i set my own target ?
I have two Wyze cam cameras and am very happy with their performances, how well will the camera work outside in a north east rain protected area?
Gonna buy one to monitor my home while on the road for work
Ok, what about WyzeTao information....
Thanks!
????????
I plugged it in to my dc converter in my car.
Thats dope
Than what internet do you use in your car
Bryan Miller some newer vehicles have built in WiFi in them.
It's also local storage with micro SD cards
I would use this to watch my front door in the flat I rent out 😬🤙
I'd use this in my garage. In addition to my current bnc ezviz security cameras.
@smarthomesolver how was the video quality live feed outside of your home, through regular phone data speed, was it glitchy at all or less quality??
@Mark Union it seemed to be good quality and not glitchy.
@@SmartHomeSolver thanks for you reply 👌🤘🏽
I bought one and located it in the garage. I can tell when someone comes home as the doors open. Also can check if I remembered to close the garage doors (without driving back home).
Interesting. Looking to put this to watch the kids. Subscribed.
Hi, do you see any chance to control this one with my Samsung Smart Things hub??
Looks pretty good. Want to try one for my garage camera
I have one in my garage and it works great.
Love mines. Smart buy guys. Jump on it before they up the price like the others
I need one of these for security in my apartment. I've moved to a new neighborhood and I am worried that someone is coming into my house when I am gone. Yikes!
Major yikes! Did you end up buying one?
Can this camera be used as a webcam by plugging the power mini directly into a computer that is offline?
Use it to monitor home when I'm away. Is there an annoying light on the camera during night use?
I use a Windows 10 Laptop to monitor 4 Wyze Cam v2s using Blue Stacks N (Android 7 emulator) and tinyCam Pro. My Wyze Cams are outside under the eves, I found some enclosures on Amazon, not totally waterproof but better protected. Home Surveillance on the cheap...lol. Thanks for your videos, very helpful, I watched this before I bought my first Wyze Cam.
Thanks Triskelos for your comment! I'm glad to hear it was helpful. I like your setup and will pass along the Android emulator idea to those looking to use Wyze on Windows machine.
@@SmartHomeSolver Tiny Cam Pro works great on Samsung Galaxy Tab too. Makes a great monitor. My Wyze Cam Pan watches the indoor stairs to my upstairs apartment so I can keep an eye out for the cat when he returns through the cat door. It is very sensitive to noise, had to turn it off because of traffic outside.
So wat happens after those 14 days? There is no way to save footage on phone with out se card?
Do they sell anything like this that would work out side? Without wires?
where /what do you hook up the camera too?
At 3:44, speaking through the camera sounds like Kyle Ren lol
