That's great. Something you would put on display in a school or college. Only thing I would do, is fit red LED's in the spark plugs and some kind of ignition system to light them up on the firing stroke. A brilliant model. Well done Mr. Robert.
@@RichBatangKalye depends on the amount of cylinders. Pistons have to move pretty fast to keep the engine alive. You will be suprised on how fast pistons move up and down in a engine.
I sometimes ask my self.... how the heck a computer can read each time those things goes up and down so accurate specially on a race car like wtf... and the sparks and all that stuffs... its almost as if we are Aliens or some stuffs like that lol
Neo J. Ssk Computers are extremely accurate we are in the giga (billion realm of calculation at the moment) for everyday computers and can go as far as tera for super computers.
Instead of getting of at p0rn, read on machine design, microcontroller programming and mathematical modelling. That will answer a lot of things for you my friend.

Usually its not so much computation but rather sensors measuring the crankshafts movement (and its current angle) and when at the right angle an electronic signal goes towards the plug to iginite the mixture. The valves are conmected mechanically to the crankshaft. But still 20k rpm on F1 cars for example (back then) are still insane especially as materials (such as the feathers for the valves) always get less time to rebound the higher the rpm
I'm surprised that one of the pistons didn't break free from the cross-sectioned cylinders; gouging out your eye with a reasonable degree of precision.
fidel catsro 6cylinder inline engines are the smoothest engines man has made. 2 cylinders like to flip in either direction due to primary forces. 4 cylinders are unbalanced
Is there a motor like that in a real car or does the fuel go in the compressed valve and ignites from the spark plug thus starting movement to both pistons?
You built a device which demonstrates how pistons move at different crankshaft rpms. It's just a matter of proper nomenclature. To call it a simulation you would need to add valves and camshaft to the construction and make it functional. Not that I'm hating, it's cool and all but it should be "Piston motion demonstration (device)" not engine itself :)

It seriously makes me think, how fast the formala1 pistons would motion.
Piston goes up and down around 300 times per second
Ritiesh Patel the piston stroke is very low
@@blackturbine dude thats insaine
Formula 1 is battery powered and doesn't need an engine
Just think of an engine that hardly gets the oil changed , make you think twice after watching this .thank you for demonstration
It would be great to have the associated RPM.

This is the best Robert thank you for helping my students see it in simple ways
This is why motor mounts are a must look at that vibration
bello! a quanti giri è arrivato al massimo nel video?
ahahah, questo proprio non lo so :)
Will need to use a tachometer to measure that.
Excellent video for those people who don't know about piston

Railfan Andrew it moves not really fast
@@RichBatangKalye the pistons does move fast even when the vehicle doesn’t move

When cycling I imagine my legs are pistons, feet are rods, and pedals are crankshafts.

Good video! I had no clue that my piston went so fast:)

I did something similar with a 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton engine for a school project

Most satisfying video on RUclips
I like the motor sound
good job ..this explain very good my theory dwell motion.. Regards from Albania

yeah better think that the cylinder might be cut off in just 1/4 of its parts so that the piston will not break free
nice video for sure, do you mind telling me the type of that small belt
the pistons and cylinder wall ain't loving the lack of lubrication 😂
fantastic .

Bel video:) Quel motore da dove viene? Con due cilindri mi fa pensare al motore di una vecchia auto!
Il motore l'ho trovato da un demolitore, ma non so se era una motopompa o altro..
Great, but it would be cool if you display the rpm...
Good prototip 👍

I'd like to see that again with a thermal camera
Thats why good quality engine oil is impotant.

What we should call this engine simulator? Inline 2 or V2 engine?
muy buen video..
It's just a demonstration of piston movement, not a simulation of entire engine.
wait till roberto makes the piston from magnets and the cylinders from coils and produces energy to recharge the setup battery to the motor!!
He's actually sort of done it already. To disappointment of many.

When the pistons move quickly, how much does the temperature increase?
Lots, if you read the temp using a temp gun before starting, then after you run it for 10 minutes there will be a crazy increase in temp
