Such fluent, effortless playing! He's a human dynamo! And I love how the image gets jittery, when it zooms in. Fits the playing wonderfully! And the Dylan rap - PRICELESS!
Thanks for sharing. I imagine there will one day be a NC reunion, but for now it may be best for CT to continue his growth. We have not seen the last of this trio.
Did anyone catch those ridiculous key shifts during the section beginning at 2:40? Apparently that's what really really really talented people do when they're bored with playing the same licks.
Please update the title to be Nickel Creek. Even Chris wouldn't feel comfortable that Sara and Sean aren't getting credit as this was a band performance, brilliant as they always are.
I've heard them adding this Bob Dylan Subterranean Homesick Blues bit during other versions of The Fox, but not in the beginning as found here. This one goes from Subterranean to Fox to some middle part with Sara back to the Fox. Does anyone know what that middle bit with Sara singing is? I tried to search the lyrics, but found nothing exactly like the lyrics she raps out. This is the stuff that sets these guys apart, and really makes me miss Nickel Creek. Although, I am in love with Punch Bros.
No. Hendrix's genius was less a matter of his virtuosity than it was his capacity to use the technology that was afforded him to create new sounds. There has not been a player before or since that had his facility in this matter, and there almost certainly never will be.
I am a very traditional bluegrass and old time music lover. We used to call this " Dog music". This is definetely NOT traditional but they are so talented I liked it anyway.
I feel sorry for Chris's mother; it must have been an excruciating birth. Because he obviously emerged with a mandolin already in his hands! (Clearly would have been an A style; an F style would have gotten jammed.)
This is the thing Nickel Creek does live-they get bored with the same song, so they just jam a bunch of others into it and play it flawlessly anyway. This is The Fox, but it’s got a bunch of other stuff in it too. Subterranean Homesick Blues is one of the things added.
Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a musician with more talent than Thile. It's almost to the point where it's more frustrating than inspiring.
thats kinda what looking at genius always feels like.
He's great but he plays to fast.
More people with frustrating levels of talent--Alma Deutscher, Joey Alexander, Kevin Olusola, Esperanza Spalding. I love/hate them all.
look up jack white he does everything
perfect comment
This is clearly Nickle Creek. Great stuff. I miss this band.
CRY NO MORE MY FRIEND
but Nickle Creek is still around
vinvanvolt me too. What an amazing chemistry they had.
What fun to see an earlier version of CT. Even then, he was pushing the envelope. Love what he is doing with PB, too.

ain't easy dancin' & tryn' to steady
So much talent between Sara, Sean and Chris it’s ridiculous. Love this.

OMG he was a baby ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is just amazing. And makes me happy :)
Brilliant and beautiful band 😊👍
Chris looked great with this hair.

I’ve heard the same thing, but I tend not to talk about things that are so above me as that.
juli0sus Had to throw the headphones on. That’s 100% just to keep their interest. WOW!
They don’t like to do things the “easy normal” way. That is why I like them.
Holy hell fantastic job loved every second feet r still tapping
Incredible !!!
It is a testament to the skill of Chris Thile that Sara Watkins (who is an amazing artist in her own right) doesn't even merit a mention.
Sean is amazing as well. All three merit mention as this is off the hook by all of them.
This is amazing.
I SAY GAWDAMN,… THAT BOY CAN PLAY..
awesome!

Had to remove from title to avoid copywrite issue
Damn he's good!!!

It's Drone, by David Garza!
That kicked ass!!
❤️❤️❤️
fucking awesome!!! wish they were stil playing together, I would love to see them live!!
dude #5!!!!!
That key change later on though. Omg, just when you think they went to D… oh no they didn’t… oh yes they did… or not… 😂
Jimi Hendrix is now soundly demoted to an also-ran.
Hole-e-kaw!!! That's great!!!
Nice

What is that song in the beginning?
This looks earlier than 2003 to me they look super young
It was 2003 and I was there! Great stuff!
Saw Nickle Creek two days ago still great.
@@thomasmorse4042 I saw them last week! Indeed, they crushed it.

Hath no idea Hugh Jackman was playing the tambourine at a younger age before a wolf or fox bit'm.

Does anyone else think that Chris has ADHD? He is literally vibrating on that stage...
Why is this called "The Fox," this is Subterranean Homesick Blues
