In Paracas, Peru there have been found an elongated headed fetus inside a pregnant mummy, what proves that elongated head was also a genetic phenomenon, not only the result of head-binding. The missing sagittal suture is a regular feature of the natural born elongated skulls. They had different genetics as DNA study showed, and they evolved in the Eurasian steppes and they colonised the Mediterranean islands during the Neolithic era and get to Peru by the bronze age.
I think the fact that the bones were so dis-articulated and mixed together is the key to understanding what happened. Even if someone were dumping bodies into a pit after a battle the skeletons would remain more or less whole though extensive mixing would occur through the process of decomposition. I also find it quite odd that only 11 skulls were recovered while 119 skeletons were found. Sure, the bones of the cranium are thin and probably much more fragile but if all of these were whole bodies deposited simultaneously and seemingly encapsulated in soil it doesn't make sense.
Excellent research! I agree, there does not seem to be much to the long headed skulls, however, the ossuary is very mysterious. Please let us know if more info comes to light. Thanks!
You don’t think there is much to a skull that has Scottish heritage. Sutures are not existing. No canine teeth. Larger mandible. And the area where the spine goes into the head is an inch back compared to a human today? They are in Peru and Malta and have European DNA. You know what that means..no migration. They need to change the history we are fed..just like the food pyramid.
Definitely a mystery here ... I think of of Orkneys Tomb of Eagles for eg... the bird bones found (used perhaps as totems?), but very clearly a sacred burial site. I (with no expertise) would say, given the usual reverence to the dead (and forethought to preservation) since even paleo times, this doesn't quite make sense 🤔 Malta sure does get curiouser & curiouser!
Great vid! Thanks for the clarity and the solid research. I’d heard the 7k bodies and elongated skulls stories elsewhere - as usual, these myths have grown from a grain of truth. The flood deposit theory is interesting and not something I was aware of.
Good video. My problem with the flood/tsunami theories is that, unless the site sits at the bottom of a natural channel, there would be no reason for so many bones to be concentrated there. It is mind-boggling to think how many tens of thousands of skeletons would have to have been present in the landscape for a wave or flood to have picked up a large enough number to concentrate the bones in one area in such a manner. Many, many more would have been washed away because the site is just one point in the wider landscape. In a bath tub, for example, the water all flows down a drain because there is nowhere else to go. Why would the site act as a drain for the wider landscape? Also, there are possibly low areas downhill that would have caught the bones that washed past that could support the theory. But still, the number of skeletons necessary - I just can't imagine that. It seems more likely that, for some reason, graves were dug up, and the contents discarded at a site that was no longer in use. Did a new culture move in? Was the land needed for farming? Was there a flood that killed many people, who were then placed in mass graves? (But then why the soil?) If there was a flood/tsunami, or disease, or a massacre with the bodies left where they fell, then eventually natural occurrences would separate the remains and leave them partially buried. Newcomers might not have been able/willing to use the ground with so many remains scattered about, and deposited them as found, along with soil, because it was easier, or less distasteful, than separating out the individual bones. Just guesses, but it is an interesting riddle.
What if the unused Hypogeum complex was used at a much later era as a charnel house for exhumed and disinterred corpses to make way for new burials in cemeteries. Odd thing is that location of Paola from the neolithic past to this very day has always had a high concentration of cemeteries in its immediate environs, from the huge and main Addolorata cemetery and smaller ancient cemeteries to the now disused civil prison cemetery and the nearby modern Moslem cemetery to the uncharted Ghajn Dweli cemeteries by dry docks nr 4 and 5 that had a lot of human bones excavated when the drydocks were built in the early 1900s to the time when they were enlarged in the early 1960s.
@@MegalithHunter I wonder if that Paola area is a junction point for ley lines? Why the megalith temples of Hypogeum and Tarxien and the abnormally high concentration of cemeteries there, modern and ancient? Someone living even today might know the real story no matter how esoteric this hypothesis my be.
Thank you for clearing this topic up. There is so much confusion with regards to the topic of elongated skulls. Regarding the bones "arrangement," isn't it the same case as in other communal burials in Malta and elsewhere in Europe? The rite was focused on single deceased while remains of previously intered individuals were pushed aside or discarded. This would create bone heaps from which certain bones such as skulls and long bones might have been removed for ritual or practical purposes (to save up space). That would also explain disproportionality of number of skulls to other types of bone. It is completely possible that some event such as flash flooding might have contributed to the state in which the bones were found. But I'm guessing this only based on information provided in this video.
Have you considered a Lahar? I don't know if the geology of Malta and the location of the excavation could allow for something like that but the disarticulated bones of both people and animals deposited in a mud like slurry seems to fit that definition.
hi, Laura! curiouser and curiouser. finding remains of 120 people in such a small space makes me wonder. you'd think the bones would've been more spread out if laid by a flood. however, that there were animal bones and other artifacts in the mix, and no complete skeletons, tends to rule out purposeful burial. i guess. i'm definitely not an expert. a mystery, for sure, but then, i love a good mystery. the lack of elongated skulls is great! no aliens here! so, MH, i think, perhaps, your hypothesis rings true. some form of major flooding could be the culprit. now, we must discover the cause of said flood. another mystery! yay! love this stuff! Bye!
Smells like a tsunami. I find it strange that people stretch truth so often, but it certainly does happen. Sagittal sutures fusing is actually something I've never heard of before. Thank you for my enlightenment ❤
10:40 - the bone in the seemingly Homo Paracas skull is far thicker and also denser, different type of bone than sapiensis (shown explicitly in History Channel's Ancient Aliens, 10June2023). Apparently more primitive and more archaic. Also, why not radioisotope test the soil to see if it was mixed with seawater, as opposed to rainwater?
May I ask what happened to get bones? I do not think you mentioned that and I have a vague memory they were lost/dumped at sea. If they still exist carbon dating or similar could be interesting.
Leaning towards a tsunami too. What is the elevation of the site? It could be that the lower level was accessible at the time, and that they got flushed through.
@@MegalithHunter Hmmm. That throws a spanner in. Is there any evidence of direct access to the outside from the lower chambers? It would also have to be quite substantial.
I say that because the lower chambers are bone free. This indicates that any flood pressure would have had to come from below. Otherwise the lower chambers would be stuffed with bones if it was a flood. Unless access to the lower chambers was blocked somehow.
@@MegalithHunter Actually, this might tie in with this video by my dear friend Chuck. Only 150 years off. It could be nothing, but might be worth investigating. Depends on if they are volcanic or endogenic in nature.
What about the skulls with different plates and merger lines? It's very obvious, plus the cranium capacity of many of the elongated skulls is far in excess of our skulls. More from south america than malta.

@@MegalithHunter what's telling about these weird suture lined, larger capacity elongated skulls is this..... proper academia has totally ignored this evidence preferring the CLovis first agenda cause it fits into other agendas..... the absence of formal criticism of these skulls by academia indicates some sort of cover up, validating such by their lack action of not conducting science.
