I went the route of putting my soaps in several local retail stores. I work at a locally owned health food store and that was my segway into that. I now sell it at four stores, each totally different. A health food, art studio, gourmet coffee and wine and a hemp store . All totally different targeted groups lol

Any tips on pitching to retail stores would be greatly appreciated?

    • @gimomable

@@Sonturist well, I had my soaps ready and in hand and I approached the hemp store with hemp only soaps and salves made from their products and the all natural soaps at the health food store with a similar theme and my artisan soaps at the other two. Also, only locally owned businesses who are usually looking for local products to sell.

I appreciate you- I know I make amazing soap. And I have soooo much fun. But it can be discouraging. I am making money- but it’s small and slow. I don’t want to get too successful that I loose my passion, but so that I can retire form massage (my hands hurt). I am vending. The markets are hit or miss…. Some are amazing (I did a 2 day and made $1300. And some where I make $65. 😳). I appreciate you Jerika. You’re a natural.
    Best wishes!

I am always encouraged by you and learn several very relevant things from each of your videos. It sometimes feels like you are speaking directly to me & where I am. I am a grandmother, I wish I had started when I was younger. My granddaughters I believe they are learning wonderful life lessons thru it all. From inspiration to design, execution, packaging, advertising and sales.
    Thank you.

May was slower than it normally is. I am lucky that a local farm invited me to start selling there Saturdays. I am using this time to stock up on soap & new product formulas. The income drop is stressful though. Ugh! ❤️

Thank you so much for all these great tips as usual! I really want to get into some local businesses but how do you suggest approaching them? I have used Instagram to DM, I follow them on their social media, and I also have stopped by and left product for the owner if they were not there but do not hear too much response back. I do have one place that loves my product but already has someone with bath and body products but she would love to get a few of mine in there that she doesn't carry. Any thoughts on how to get over these obstacles?
