I can see you have good taste in pellet grills and cars 😉 I had an 89 Ramcharger that to this day I regret selling. My brother has a 2009 Challenger RT and has won many car shows with it. I own a 2002 Dodge 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins with 134K original miles. I got my Grandslam back in 2013. It's showing it's age, but still works like a champ. I replaced the igniter rod recently and that's been the only part. The display is starting to go out, but the controller still works. I seem to remember mine was about $1250 back then. Holy cow have they gone up in price! 😳
Hello beginning-reloading - first of all, thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated! I'm a die-hard Mopar fan at heart, and I really love my 1975 Ramcharger, and the 2019 Challenger! yes, the Grand Slam has gone up quite a bit since 2013, but still made in Beatrice, NE - it hasn't been off-shored. The base price for my red grill is $1750 now. If I keep it clean and dry, it should last many many years. Blaz'n sells all the replacement parts as well, so that is a good thing. Take care, and smoke on!
@@cirwin4099 hi @cirwin4099 , thanks for watching and commenting - much appreciated! It’s a great made in USA pit, and an excellent way to get into pellet grills and staying affordable. Take care, and smoke on! - The Lost Canuck
@@PoliticallyIncorrect90 hello @PoliticallyIncorrect90 - thanks for watching the channel, and commenting; very much appreciated! Yes, the heat diffuser is directly under the bottom grate. It runs from the grease trough up to just under the pit temperature probe. Under the heat deflector is a small circular plate over the burn pot to distribute the heat evenly. When running, that part looks like a “ring of fire”. Hopefully this helps. It’s a great little pit and cooks very well. I have a new video coming out on a way to get a little more smoke soon. Hi @conradkostelecky7935 - thanks for watching and thanks for commenting, very much appreciated! Keen eye you have; yes, the hat is from Caddy Shack 😆. Yes - I did get a free bowl of soup with it too 🤣. If you ever want a hat that "looks good on me" for yourself, there is an Amazon affiliate link in the description below the video. @@andreyustinov7793 hello - thanks for watching and better yet, leaving a comment! Much appreciated. I bought my grill over Labour Day and got the 15% off deal. I think it’s on right now for Christmas as well. I also have the smaller Grand Slam, which is less expensive. So configured the way I have it in the video (red lid, standard casters, WiFi module, no searing plate, one meat probe, lid insulator, one upper and one lower pro shelf (probably didn’t need the lower, so save yourself $110), and no grill cover) it came out to $1,938, with free shipping and no tax. For a 100% USA made pellet smoker (even the controller) that’s heavy duty, not too shabby! Hope this helps answer your comment. I consider any USA made pellet grill to be premium (Smokin Bros, Mak, Lone Star Grillz, Kando Gear, Pitts and Pitts, Blazn, etc.) as they use heavier gauge metal than any Asian made grill out there. If you have a budget, make sure you work within it. Mine was 2k, and I wanted USA made with a warranty. I’d also check out Facebook Marketplace for good deals. Lots of people get pellet grills for the holidays and realize it’s not for them. Take care, and Smoke On! - Lost Canuck
If you are ok with purchasing off-shore grills, there are some really good options out there right now (and maybe available on Facebook Marketplace). Some of the decent ones that might last more than 5 years are the Weber Searwood, Camp Chef Woodwind Pro, and RecTeq. They are all made in Asia, however, and use thinner gauge materials. A fellow smoker over on @deadbrokebbq (Ricer) does an excellent review between the Camp Chef and the Weber. Check it out. - Lost Canuck

Is there a heat diffuser between the burn pot and bottom grate?

So it's 3200 if you add all the bells and whistles. Isn't it too expensive for a non-premium grill?
