    Andrew, thank you so much. I have been a subscriber for about 3 years and I finally got my hands on some EVA foam and styrofoam (50 mm thick instead of 40 but its possible to work with). I made my first magnum today but I used PVC glue before painting and it destroyed my prototype because had burned my gun xD (I will try to save it or make another one). Know that I have found a new hobby and I love it already! I will make another magnum and then assault rifle (from your tutorial) from only EVA foam. You are a hero in my book! (I'm 21 atm) I want to compleet a masterchief armour someday (or the noble 6 armour pff). I will keep up the work and again thank you for your tutorials it means a lot to me! (I'm Dutch/Polish so excuse my english).

      +Alexander Hartley just make sure that both sides are smooth if you use contact cement, if you use hot glue it will be more rough but you wouldn't have to sand it. =)

    • @dariokuschke7311
      @dariokuschke7311 8 лет назад

      It doesnt make the foam rock hard it just "tightens" cause that is how all foam is sealed. If your using spray paint and it is eating the foam then your spraying to vigorously or to close foam should just be dusted with spray paint and several times to get a solid color, hope this gives clarity

    why dont you use a hot wire foam cutter? and layer the gun from the ground up? :) Thanks for the tutorial though :)

      I think he prefers the art of it

    • @NorthRedWave
      @NorthRedWave 8 лет назад

      ok, i was just wondering if there was some special reason behind it :) Cuse with a hot wire cutter you can cut clean straight line pretty easily. But thanks for your insight :)

    • @dariokuschke7311
      @dariokuschke7311 8 лет назад

      +FerhdeMerak also when he initially started, it was making props really cheap and a craft knife is cheaper than the wire cutter👍

    • @NorthRedWave
      @NorthRedWave 8 лет назад

      yeah i started with a craft knife too, but i made a hot wire cutter myself recently and i was wondering if there were other reasons not to use it :) But thanks!

    • @Xzo
      @Xzo 8 лет назад

      +FerhdeMerak I'm going to do it that way, if you want to build one the king of random has a pretty good tutorial for the hot wire foam cutter that is cheap =)

      seal the foam by mixing 1 part water with 1 part pva glue first. Take black acrylic paint andnbase coat the prop. Use a variety of silvers and blacks (all acryli) and paint it to your liking, hope this helps👍

    • @cyqry
      @cyqry 8 лет назад +1

      The "foam from mats and such" is called EVA Foam, cheap stuff you can buy all over. If you can't find a shop, go online, its cheap as dirt online.
      But for the guns, he's using Styrofoam. EVA foam is good for suits but way too thin for big props like these, hence why he's using different techniques to what he does with the Halo armour.
