The key to this is to have a really good quality comb, I actually have a pair made in France, but I couldn't tell you where I got them, I've had them forever and can't remember if I bought them or if they were a gift or something left at my house. But they have lasted, I've had them for nearly 2 decades. There really is a difference.
Thank you, after years of trying to wear a hair comb,I can wear one all day thanks to this video! I was putting them in wrong all this time. This video was very helpful 👍❤️
These comments defending claw clips made my day - lol! It's so refreshing to see others with minds of their own! Just because there is a public video out saying something otherwise, you people (gotta be politically correct here : /) stand on your own and are not brainwashed by the media. I too love my claw clips! They are so fast and easy and look awesome! Can't tell you how many "bad hair days" it has saved me from! I do agree though, that combs are nice too, as an alternative. We can never have enough fun hair accessory alternatives and this video does give a great demo on how to use them and for that I am greatful : )
i was really confused when she said that the clips were unattractive but then i realized this was made in 2008, the clips are cute and are actually coming back into style
What a fantastic video, short and to the point. I never knew how to use a comb slide and have been using claw clips for years with the negatives that go with them. I have long thin hair and not suitable for a bun. I want a more elegant look and can't wait to give this a try. Thank you. And as for the amount of irate claw clip comments on this page, some people need to grow up and move on. x peace x
I love the claw clips it's very useful and it is faster... Please do not tell so bad about claws clips. More over it can be tied so nicely and fast and we can tie it any where we want ... Stop telling bad things about any body or something without knowing its advantages .. 😠
If you have thick heavy hair like i do the claw clips really hold them in place . Plus i have some really pretty blingy ones . They can be a very nice compliment to your outfit .
Perhaps a smaller clip would work better depending on the thickness of the hair. If the hair is tangled or twisted any device can be hard to remove from one's hair.
@clariri656 We make everything by hand. It takes a lot of time to make each item and we use all quality materials like Swarovski Austrian crystals and French quality barrettes. Our items are made in the USA by an artist. When you buy something of high quality, it lasts for many years, when you buy something cheap, it is usually made in China and itit falls apart or doesn't work..
You mention your combs are hand made, but does that include the actual comb proper? Is it machine pressed if it is plastic? If it isn't plastic or tortoise shell, what is it and where exactly is it made in the USA? Where do you get the butterflies and jewels from that you put on your hairclip? Are they bought at a craft store or can you also guarantee they are made in the USA? I am wanting something completely American-made. I want an item that has no parts made overseas.
Winstons Julia you're probably right. If you have fine hair... forget it. Has anyone noticed how cheaply made bobby pins are made these days? If you buy the right claw clip, they look fine!
I have to disagree...claw clips work very well holding long hair. I could never hold my hair with a comb although they are pretty. I wish you did the demo on a human, not a fake head of hair.
We use claw clips because we don’t want to or know how to tuck our hair in like a professional . The video comparison of using a claw clip vs the comb basically shows me that they restyled the hair for the comb to make it look more sleek and sped up the video because that process takes a long time
claw clips are ugly? you havent seen my sparkly pink claw clip, lol Im intrigued by this french one though, literally never used one before. They look more elegant than claw clips somehow. maybe cause the shape is more uncommon? I really wanna try one now :D
I agree about the ugliness of claw clips. I have a lot of French Twist combs, regular decorative combs and decorative beak and alligator clips. Do you know where I keep these things? In my jewelry armoire because they are literally jewelry for my very long hair. I do have a few claw clips, but they are used to hold hair that I am not working on out of the way when I am creating my hairstyle for the day.
@nevesdarocha I respect your desire to support made in USA. There are some things on our web site where everything that we use is made in the USA. We try to source as much as we can in the USA however sometimes this isn't possible. The crystals we use are made in Austria by Swarovski. The hair barrettes are made in France (this is the best quality available). I would direct you to some of our pick combs that are without crystals if you want something made in USA with all Made in USA parts.
I tried using these clips and tgey just eont stay in my hair my ulgy claw clip as you call it does stay in my hair and besides no one really knows that I'm wearing it because I buy the claw clips made with clear plastic.
Sliding out of my hair was never my problem... My problem was my hair is so thick that the claw clips don't close all the way and the teeth on them poke my head. Very painful. Even the ones for thick hair. Just because the shape is different, doesn't mean that the volume capacity is more. 😐 I now have locks, so the claw is a non-issue. Makes me happy. But I do love the look of combs.
I simply CANNOT get my hair up without a claw comb and it's driving me UP THE WALL! My hair is so, so SO THICK you would not believe it and everything BUT a claw just slips right on out because it is so HEAVY! The only comb that would probably word is one 7 inches long and about 5,000 + bobby pins. GRRR!
Honestly, claw clips keep my hair tight and in place ALL day! Those combs DON'T! They start sliding off like in 10 minutes or so,! Hands down claw clips are WAY better!!!
Guess it depends on the hair type and the comb type, because a comb keeps my hair very well in place. Bobby pins and other pins are not so good for me, they slip and I lose them very often. Butterfly pins and those plastic claws also help, and are great for eveyday. But on those special occasions I prefer a comb, it looks so more elegant.
@clubpenguinstorm1 When you do, you are supporting items that are made in China and when I looked they didn't have any decorations on them for that price. Less expensive isn't always the best thing.
Use to wear claw clips..men don't like the look..I was told it looked like an antenna coming out of women's heads..this is a more classic look shown in this tutorial..
Janice, We are currently traveling outside of our studio so we aren't accepting any orders. We expect to reopen some time in August or September of 2018. We will notify everyone on our email list when we are accepting orders again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
It does not look like the French comb would last for long either, especially for straight hair. It looks like hairs would start to get out of it almost immediately.
what have you against products that are made in China? I was initially interested in your products until I saw your comments. Can't say you're a very thoughtful promoter.
dheine121, yes, there's nothing wrong with the claw clip, they're comfortable, easy to use, and they look cute. The French comb can make your hair look neater, and it's without a doubt necessary for a lot of styles, so I see what she saying, but jeez, she didn't have to go picking on the claw clip lovers, lol.
And it is a fact that if you pay close enough attention to those that curse constantly, they are not as smart as the average person. The smarter you are, the better your vocabulary is, and you don't need to cuss to explain yourself. Remember that children :)
my claw clip is pretty, thankyou very much.. it has flowers on it!

you totally right dear
right way corrigan
I love claw clips, and there are docens of cute styles we can achieve with them. I think they are great.
I only use the basic plastic claw clip at home. But there are some claw clips that are beautifully decorative. These I do wear when I go out
Yes. I have metal/rose pearl claw clips. I get lots of compliments on them!
I've used both, and combs fall out many times more readily than butterfly clips, which can look just as nice. Comb = no spring to maintain hold.
i dont think my claw clip is ugly :c
You think wrong lmao
These comments defending claw clips made my day - lol! It's so refreshing to see others with minds of their own! The combs look better for sure, but I've rarely had the claw clips fall out. Even when put in correctly I've had combs fall out!
Claw clips are not "ugly" for everyone...I like them a lot
i was really confused when she said that the clips were unattractive but then i realized this was made in 2008, the clips are cute and are actually coming back into style
Neat way to do your hair with a comb!
ty mam for the information ......actually i have purchased this hair tool but don't know how to use ...so ty its very helpful for me

Thx you for your quick reply. Also, thx for the tutorial..got an old one (20 yrs) in my hair now..never did it right..pre you tube😂
If you have thick heavy hair like i do the claw clips really hold them in place . Plus i have some really pretty blingy ones . They can be a very nice compliment to your outfit .
So that's how you use them. Thanks.
Thank you! I was using it all wrong! Thanks for the video!
0:32 "And slide out of your hair often" *struggles to remove the claw*
Perhaps a smaller clip would work better depending on the thickness of the hair. If the hair is tangled or twisted any device can be hard to remove from one's hair.
Claw clip is really helpful we can make many hairstyles with it.french clip only one style
thank you now I know how to use it

Sorry, but I prefer the claw clips. I’ve tried the combs and find I need help putting it in myself.
Pretty comb.
Wow simple and superb hairstyle
I use claw clips all the time and they never fall out of my hair, the other clip looks very old fashion imo.
I like how combs look and I'm gonna buy one but I'm sure i'll never be able to make it work.
Winstons Julia you're probably right. If you have fine hair... forget it. Has anyone noticed how cheaply made bobby pins are made these days? If you buy the right claw clip, they look fine!

And the individual did it themselves.

Great video, thanks for sharing, it really looks beautiful.😀
This really helped ...Those combs never stay in my hair
you can get super cute claw clips with prints and designs with vibrant colors at claires they are also really comfortable

I love hair combs, but with my very thick, long, and curly hair it is almost impossible for it to stay on longer than five minutes.
I hate claw clips LOL, this is a lovely alternative!!
claw clips are ugly? you havent seen my sparkly pink claw clip, lol

Claw clips do not slide out....it's the comb that falls out
I agree, they just want money.
Good idea. I never use this but now I known.how to use this.
I tried using these clips and tgey just eont stay in my hair my ulgy claw clip as you call it does stay in my hair and besides no one really knows that I'm wearing it because I buy the claw clips made with clear plastic.
omg...that's exactly what I need!

Thank you for share.....
Calm clips are the best and cheap
my claw clips are beautiful and I've never had one fall out of my hair. I have had combs fall out
I threw my hair comb.. didn't know how to use. Thought it's old fashioned and useless. Sounds good in the video.
Use to wear claw clips..men don't like the look..I was told it looked like an antenna coming out of women's heads..this is a more classic look shown in this tutorial..
TRISH SLUDER lol thats true claw clips are unclassy
all you do is add a flower or fancy bow in the center of the clip.
Thank you.
I have thick hair and a plastic claw clip has never ever slipped out of my hair. You just said that to sell your product. They are not ugly either.
I can't live without my claws.
Frustrating. I went on your site to order the midsummers night dream French comb and it appears your site is down. Is this correct? Thx.
Janice, We are currently traveling outside of our studio so we aren't accepting any orders. We expect to reopen some time in August or September of 2018. We will notify everyone on our email list when we are accepting orders again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
