      xoxRufus Anhh, thanks for stopping by! I hope you are doing really well :) I will have to stop by your channel to see if you have anything new up :) I was thinking recently how you make your cupcake faces would be perfect for kiki and lala.
      If I do try to make them and film, I will make sure to let everyone know their faces were inspired by your cute cupcake faces. :)

    Great job. You don't have to make your tutorials shorter. Lots of people like to take their time. One of mine runs over an hour. Kudos to you!

    I love these hotdog charms! For some reason I just can't get the hotdog bun to look right. Not sure what I keep doing wrong but I'll try to follow your tutorial and hopefully do a better job than I have before. Maybe that is why I normally just stick to desserts :) Thanks for sharing all of your awesome tutorials. Nice to see the full process you use to make your charms each time! Love your videos!

    Hi Heather I just found your channel and I love it. You explain everything so we'll and I have been watching lots of tutorials I'm new at making miniature food and thanks to you I'm doing pretty good. Thanks and God bless.

    Hi-I SO agree with EpicPainDragon........your tutorials are great! People who want to whine and complain about stuff aren't fun to deal with-maybe they should look elsewhere for shorter videos (and there is such thing as FAST FORWARDING the videos). I like that you take the time to explain what you are doing-not all of "us" have been working with clay that long, and I personally have learned a lot just by watching you :D. I think it's great you want to share your knowledge, designs and techniques-keep up the good work. A chili dog would be cool too ;) Thanks for doing this!

      Thank you so much :) My goal is presenting it in a way that you can create a one that looks the same or very close to mine :)
      I struggle with time though, and am trying to figure out how to speed up the tutorials without losing information on technique.

      ***** Thank you for responding, and sharing your opinion. I often feel bad when my tutorials go over 12 minutes. But reading that people like the tutorials the way they are always touches me, and does help me keep posting.

      Melissa R Shaw then that's what a pause is for or... they will watch it when they have more than 10-12 min. perhaps you're use to watching half a** tutorials where they edit out all the mistakes. she is a real time player. she has many followers and many vids and I'm sure sells tons of things so she knows what she's doing.... just saying.

    Hi Heather, it's nice to see you back. These hot dog are so cute. I'm sorry I have not sent off your package yet. I was rushed into the hospital the day before Christmas and was there for a week. I am home recovering now so as soon as I'm well enough to drive I will send off that package to you. I wanted to talk to you about a charity project I'm working on that I thought you might like to participate in. I'll give you more details on it later. I hope your feeling better and you had a nice holiday with your family. I'll talk to you soon. Take care, Dee

    I feel like a lot of the Pastel comes off when I color my food for polymer clay when I bake it. How do u get yours to stay?

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  9 лет назад

      It just depends on the color for me. Most tend to lighten a bit. Red is terrible and never stays, so those cases I paint them after too. Adding glaze brings back some of the color, so I will add a glaze or satin glaze .

    Hello, love your work!! ♥
    I'm wondering when making charms that are meant to be matte (ex. hot dog bun, graham crackers, etc.), is it alright if it's left unglazed to avoid the glossy shine? Would the pastels rub off in the long run without a protective coating? I'm having difficulty finding a perfect matte varnish, and because of this am just leaving those charms as is for the matte look.

  • @Tesoromio22
    @Tesoromio22 9 лет назад

    I always watch your videos and often comment as well, yet I keep forgetting to ask you how you keep the chalk pastels from rubbing off of your piece. Do they "set" by baking them?

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  9 лет назад

      Tesoromio22 I find baking them does set the pastels mostly. They tend to lighten a bit in the process, but glazing them help brighten the color. If I have to add pastel after the clay was baked, I will make sure to glaze it so that layer will be protected.

    Do the little bread crumbs fall off after they're baked? That happens a lot with me, same with the cake texture :(

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  9 лет назад

      A little of the crumbs do come off for me too, but not enough to destroy the cakey look . I just try to do it very gently, and a lot.

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  9 лет назад

      Samantha Chalmus I shave it with the edge of my clay blade rather than chopping it. If you don't mind taking a little more time, you can also run the paintbrush along the side of the pastel, and then the bread. Goingt back and forth until you have enough color. Here is a link where I show how I do it. It is at 2:20 in the video.

    I love your videos,! But just a tip or two is
    -You need better lighting
    -Try to make your videos shorter, because some people don't have patience to watch a 20 min long video.. And more people will watch if they see better lighting and know they have time

      Melissa R Shaw then perhaps you need to watch a different vid. this is a tutorial... but a how it's made short vid with pics... most people who watch a tutorial know the videos are going to be longer than... 10! it's a step by step and if it takes longer then 10 min. it's going to be a longer vid. perhaps that's what the fast forward option is for? or perhaps her written tutorial is what you would prefer. you could probably read it in 10 min or less...
