ASK og EMBLA på Langedrag 2001 - Feeding wolf from her mouth.

Under et besøk på Langedrag naturpark i 2001 fikk jeg gleden av å oppleve dyrevokter Tuva Thorsen presentere Ulvesøsknene Ask og Embla. De var da to og et halvt år gamle og dette var et av noen få steder i verden hvor man kunne oppleve dette med såpass godt voksne ulver. Hun gav de noen vaffelbiter, lekte med de og hun til og med matet de fra sin egen munn. Etterpå presenterte hun gaupene. Veldig flott å oppleve disse flotte rovdyra våre på så nært hold selv om de var halvtamme.

During a visit to the Langedrag Nature Park in 2001, I had the pleasure of experiencing animal warden Tuva Thorsen presenting the wolf siblings Ask and Embla. They were then two and a half years old and this was one of a few places in the world where you could experience this with wolves that old. She gave them some food, played with them and she even fed them from her own mouth. Afterwards she presented the lynxes. Very nice to experience these great predators this close, even though they were half tame.

The wolves and the bobcats you've interacted with are amazing. Only seen one wolf in the wild, and only tracks of bobcats. The latter are very shy, elusive and hard to spot.
