| Justine Wong-Orantes (born October 6, 1995) is an American professional volleyball player. Widely regarded as one of the world's best female return specialists (libero), in 2021, she became a gold medalist at both the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the Volleyball Nations League in Rimini.
She played for the United States national team, in 2017, she won the Pan American gold medal, and the bronze medal at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix.
In May 2021, she was named to the 18-player roster for the FIVB Volleyball Nations League tournament that was played in Rimini, Italy. It was the only major international competition before the Tokyo Olympics in July. She was named the best libero of the tournament after helping Team USA win its third straight gold medal.
On June 7, 2021, US National Team head coach Karch Kiraly announced she would be part of the 12-player Olympic roster for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In her Olympic debut, Wong-Orantes led the Olympics in serve reception percentage, on the way to helping the USA capture a first-ever gold medal. For her efforts, she was named the "Best Libero" of the Olympics.

She may not be as flashy as the liberos from other countries but she is very steady and her passes, digs are mostly on point. Some would claim this libero or that libero is better than JWO blah blah blah but consistency and percentage-wise, JWO edges them out. VNL and Tokyo Olympics' best libero awards are a testament to her greatness. She is underrated, IMHO
When did she start playing for the USA team and you are already saying she is underrated,how did she win best libero award twice if she is underrated??
@@sharonachi7413 hmm I think she started playing for team usa around 2018. The reason I said she is underrated because there are still volleyball afficionados not giving her the credit she deserves.

What a great libero - excellent passer who's always in a great defensive position (and she reads the hitters and fills in the holes of her blockers VERY well!
She doesn't need to be flashy she is outstanding with a Smile. She digs everything she sets more than any libero sets. She does it better as well, she is young and now USA has a libero for decades.
As well as will international teams that have already called on her. She kind humble funny and loves the sport.

Best Libero as well as charming what an improvement since 2018..Coach Karily put his trust in her at the Olympics and JWO did not disppoint the team.. Bravo..
I used to not like JWO because she was so unsteady especially during the world championships in 2018 but she fought her way back as the main libero of USA and her hard work helped USA in earning its first Olympic gold.
She is quite humble, fast reacting Libero. The Olympic champion team has a great support from her.
