60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 is still a hit in 2020. 60 Minutes makes Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 nearly every week and was the #1 weekly television broadcast three times last season.
The program still averages more than 10 million viewers, more than double the audience of its nearest network news magazine competitor. The average audience for a 60 Minutes broadcast is 150% higher than those of the network morning news programs; the audience dwarfs the number of viewers drawn by the most popular cable news programs.
About a million more people listen to the 60 Minutes radio simulcast in several major cities and on its companion podcast. Tens of thousands each week experience 60 Minutes online. The broadcast’s segments can be watched at 60Minutes.com and on the CBS All Access app. Its webcast, 60MinutesOvertime.com, offers content originally produced for the web, including behind-the-scenes video about the production of 60 Minutes stories and timely archival segments.
60 Minutes has won every major broadcast award. Its 25 Peabody and 150 Emmy awards are the most won by any single news program. It has also won 20 duPont-Columbia University journalism awards. Other distinguished journalism honors won multiple times include the George Polk, RTDNA Edward R. Murrow, Investigative Reporters and Editors, RFK Journalism, Sigma Delta Chi and Gerald Loeb awards.
60 Minutes premiered on CBS September 24, 1968. Bill Owens is the program’s executive producer. The correspondents and contributors of 60 Minutes are Sharyn Alfonsi, Anderson Cooper, John Dickerson, Norah O’Donnell, Scott Pelley, Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and L. Jon Wertheim.
I love the little boy "would you ever want to seek revenge?" Children are so honest.
Yes! Such a sincere and real question! It stood out to me too
@@jraeflowers8300 in 2010 there was a memorial of Anne Frank that traveled to every state it was very interesting there they read some of her diary that most have never heard had some of her personal belongings and also brought some others personal posssions from Germany where it's kept in these huge underground vaults ...one thing I found interesting is how Ann Frank never harbored Hate towards anyone despite what she endured...hate simply didn't exist to her ...

My parents were liberated from Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, Germany, April 15, 1945, by British Troops, several weeks after poor Anne Frank and her sister died from Typhus...
Holy crap i had no idea this was a thing!! This is incredible and i could not think of a more respectful way to make these survivors live forever
This programme is a treasure. It's disappointing that it doesn't exist in every country.
Well, most other countries know what actually happened so they don’t give these people the spotlight they don’t deserve????
You should check out 60 Minutes Australia. It's on RUclips minus the commercials and comments.
Well said indeed, not only is this platform censoring our choices but pretty much all of the major platforms are also. Regardless of the material it's a long held belief that we have certain freedoms, we fought 2 appalling World Wars to uphold such inherent freedoms too, we were told.
Can anyone honestly say that this is the case for us today *

Crying. This is so incredibly beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
Im glad Im not the only one crying! I am also in awe idea and how interactive it is, also so glad their stories are being told in such detail, but so heartbroken for what they went through. Just so many emotions!
Love this....
Not my reaction
She forgave them because she was tired of being a victim. She wasn’t gonna let them continue to ruin her life with anger and despair. Forgiveness was her was her way of taking back her life.
Spot on! Forgiveness is for oneself, a release from emotional bondage. She called it "empowerment".
What a beautiful idea
agreed

As a 10 year old boy ,my mum's boss came to our house,we always called him Mr Faber, out of respect ,he was speaking to dad ,when he rolled his left sleeve shirt up to reveal a tattooed numbers on his arm,My. dad explained to me what it meant, I am 72 now but the image never left me.
Yes it was a most devastating War, we ourselves lost our dear grandfather abourd the HMS Celendine aged just 32. It caused pain to all...
I’m 100% Polish & when he sang that song at the end I knew exactly what it meant.. & it brought tears to my eyes❤️❤️❤️
What does it mean? Is it a reference to the WW2 period?
Please give some translation!

He finally gets to sing with his twin again.
This is beautiful, and the first time I have ever heard the correct answer to "How does God let this happen?"
I feel the same. His answer was so simple but I’ve never heard it answered better. The dignity and humanity after what he’s been through is astonishingly touching.
This is amazing. I’m crying.
Man even if they are not here anymore, its just very emotional to hear them🥺
“6MWE”- to see that in our Capitol was heartbreaking.
very true. I was already mad, but seeing that made me so far beyond there were no words to describe. I was heartbroken, I was ashamed that people living here believe this.
Amazing, thanks for posting this.
This video is priceless. Well done. We need this to be taught in the American schools. As well as American history.
Lol the only history they teach in schools is holocaust and slavery revisionist history
Check out USC Shoah channel on YT. There are so many unique stories

Beautiful. Powerful.
It is so Important.
Important Beyond All Measure.
We should never forget.
Just such a beautiful project. Thank you for this awesome project.
This was wonderful! I wish I could have my grandparents to talk to like this. I could use my Gramma's songs and my Grampa's stories right about now.
I'd like to leave something for my children and grandchildren, too.
I agree, grandparents are such a blessing to all children fortunate to have them in their lives, wisdom, patience and guidence second to none, the Japanese have the correct reverence to their elders...
This makes my heart so happy! ❤️
This is incredible
Thank you so much...
This is so important and so beautiful ❤️ young and new generations can now learn of this powerful part of history the same way I did and these creators and survivors are amazing for doing this.
What about the Armenian Holocaust, 23 years earlier.
Thank you for your wonderful work!
Preserving and reviewing such memories is perhaps what we need to do for understanding better the present and ensure the future that is always coming.
This is so sad and heartbreaking because humanity did this horrible acts. The Historians who came up the idea of this technology of saving Houscaust Survivors interviews with Intelligence life is amazing.

This is fantastic & much needed for the human race.
We always seem to forget the horrors we are capable of until it's too late for those that are alive now.
Omgosh, how awesome and visionary! But so emotional.
Super sad, cool and powerful
That's amazing
WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA !!! THANK YOU !

Wow, now that is futuristic. Kudos to dreamers, thinkers and doers. A godsend to us all. Thanks 👍👋
So awesome!
💙 Danke!
This is the progress and advancement that humanity may not want but NEEDS. It could be applied to so many tragedies through history such as Rwandan Genocide or the Bosnian conflicts. How many times has your view been adjusted one you had the chance to meet someone in person with an alternate view. This is profoundly insightful and can be used in so many ways and for generations. Im in awe, truly and hope it is widely accepted
My dear I'm Rwandese, but it's not Rwandan genocide, it's genocide against Tutsi.
What is the program that is shown in the video? My teacher has looked for it for 3-4 years at least.
excellent
I hope they keep developing this technology until it's available to all! I can't imagine the difference it'd make for my daughter to be able to ask her Dad questions
Wow!
This is truly amazing and ingenious to keep these heros stories always told.
This is so cool
Whoever saves a life, saves the world entire
Excellent stuff 😊
This amazing, imagine asking questions to someone who’s not even alive anymore
Inagine asking questions to someone who's not even born yet! That will be amazing
Fantastic
wow!!!!!
Wow! This is genius! I hope this fascinating new innovation keeps growing. Well done 60mins to bring it to attention
Amazing
I watch the sometimes 3 hr plus videos on the usc shoah foundation channel on yt. The woman near the end..Eva Kor,and another woman named Tova Friedman. Those stories are so particularly gripping for me.
A week of that will change your perspective on life and legacy, faith, hope and empathy.
Such a treasure to have it preserved in perpetuity this way as to interact with the past virtually.
soooo cool.
Omg this need to be trending
Hearing the horror stories of the things these people have experienced is heart-wrenching. It also makes me think how awful it is that we actually have a category of people called Holocaust deniers and they are in the thousands. How can anyone deny these terrible things def did happen?!
The same way folks dont believe the amount of covid deaths; cant cremate people that fast...
This is a beautiful idea and I'm so glad it is being placed into existence. I cant help but wonder, why is this concept not being put into place for all the living members of the Civil Rights era who are now dying out. I would love to see this concept put into place for my people as well. Thank you 60 Minutes for sharing this with the world.
Creepy but yet beautiful.
This is like when Superman returned home (North Pole) to talk w his Mom & Dad.
Thats exactly what this is like
Anyone think of that movie I-Robot?
so awesome..))
Bless Eva.
Dam I cried because they never saw thier family again
As long as the survivors are ok with it, why not?
This will be shown in the year 3000
How can I access this online and interact
Amazing tech. Really cool stuff.
Very cool idea.
Just amazing as right after into the 50’s they would not discuss. They knew each other by the numbers on their arms. Father lost eleven family members then early 60’s found one brother in Israel. With Scars of being torture. My mother was forced labor.
Beautiful.
How do I get in touch with this for my legacy for my baby girl
The LED lights aren't even in the form of "slides". That looks like a scary concept. .
😭
Wow I didn't know Eva lived in Terre Haute. I didn't live very far from there. I always felt a connection to her.
Absolutely AMAZING. I really like to have the chance to talk with one of these Holograms
That kid at 12:05 asked the question I've always wanted to ask a holocaust survivor
The trouble with this topic is that the technology developed became more interesting than the interview itself
Yeah maybe for you.
If you watched "I, Robot" before... you know what I'm talking about.
As a young person who’s fascinated by history & especially the second world war I often worry about how are we going to keep these tragic memories of the worst events of history alive for the future generations to learn about and now i know how! This is such a good idea. Not sure if i’m gonna be alive to get married and have kids but if i do I’ll definitely show them these 😊
Hitler drew heavy inspiration for his methodology of his genocide based on the genocide of the Native people here in North America. Remembering them, means remembering all genocide. Remember that. We need their voices so nobody forgets.
That's the thing about years. They advance as they go
How did 63 people find something to dislike here?
This is an amazing use of technology.
Why is this show called 60min? I looked at all the clips they uploaded and none of them are over 27min. The show should be called 30min Or Less. I like the show so I guess I am just not happy it doesn't go longer.
When he said God weeps! Bring on the waterworks 😭😭
IM NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING
I’m more upset by the nonsensical description of the article.
