100% for the credit card tip. I used to work in merchant processing, and trust me, no retailer wants to deal with a chargeback. They automatically get charged a fee that's not refunded whether they win the case or not, and then the onus is on them to fight the claim with the processing platform(Global, Firstdata, or Amex). It takes so much time and paperwork, that even if they were to win the case, it's usually not worth it to them. In addition, if a merchant gets too many chargebacks, they get penalised and could risk having their ability to process cards suspended.
Generally its good to store bags in a cotton or breathable dustbag WITH the moisture absorber sachets away from sunlight and heat (radiators) because it protects against dust and tiny bugs. Patent leather requires different care because its prone to get sticky.
I love watching your videos. I can’t afford the items, but I just love the way you talk about them. I enjoy when you take us shopping or when you go to a big event so we can sort of experience it too. Thank You Sophie
Great tips, Sophie! And I'm glad you kept the sweater, it looks so nice and cosy. Whenever I'm getting ready to go on a trip and trying to decide what to pack, I put on my potential outfits and take pictures of myself from a few angles. You are so right about seeing yourself that way rather than just in the mirror. Then when I'm looking at pictures of myself after I'm back home, I don't go, "Ah, what was I thinking!!!"
Hi Sophie, thanks for a helpful video. I followed your advice about checking the quality recently and found that the bag I had fallen in love with had a massive scratch across the leather on the inside. The SA was lovely and looked for an alternative bag, one of which was my dream classic bag which I thought would take me years to track down. So I think your advice paid off doubly! I like the tip about taking a photo of an outfit and will try this in future. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
Hi Sophie. All seven tips are useful, good and really necessary. Paying with a credit card is the number one of all things in life. Not only for shopping online, but for most important purchases. One example: Airline tickets, car rental...etc. Years ago I had paid for an all-inclusive package in a distant country. Two days before the trip the airline went belly down. In cases of bankruptcy, you get your money back. I did also. Later I read in the news that in that special case over half of the passengers did not, due to the fact they had paid cash. Thank you Sophie, have a pleasant summer.
Yes, really check how the bag looks on and see what the bag can hold and put the garment on in the shop before deciding whether or not to buy it. This is great advice.
Hi Sophie and everyone! Very good advice all around! Also, when trying on close, sit down to see how the waist is and how far a dress or skirt with go up!
It's great to see you here ringoroll!! The summer is going so nicely, thank you. Plus, for once in the UK, the weather has been pretty good in general! I really hope life is good with you. Wishing you a lovely week ahead my friend, hugs xx
6:50 I always do so. I make photos, go home, match the item photos with what I already have and only after that I return and buy that item. Especially when it's an expensive item. Thank you!
I go look and then return if I keep thinking about it. Because I tend to get obsessed with thing then hurry to get it and then after owning it, I realized that I don't really care for it. That's how you end up with a ton of things that you said, you will return but never did.
@@annhans3535 It is also reasonable to keep tags on and the receipt after buying. In case of returning. It can happen that in the shop an items looks more attractive than at home.
I also like medium sizes now. I used to like big bags, now I only use them as overnight bags ( how embarrassing to think I used to go out with them) I know what you mean about making sure sml especially wallets fit your needs. I have an old L.V. wallet, it looks brand new simply because it doesnt fit all my cards now so it's completely unusable and I dont even use the matching bag anymore either. Edit: a bag I hadnt used in quite some time. To my horror I found it had mould on it. I used *oil of cloves * which removed it all and it kills all the spores as well so it wont be a recurring problem. Winter in Australia and very damp, so please ladies check your beautiful bags and relocate them if you find any mould. Thankyou Sophie I feel i know you. You're a beautiful soul. xx
You are so right about the credit card thing. Even if it’s not luxury pay with PayPal. Once I bought a Givenchy bag that got lost in the mail but I never asked for that shipping company in specific, eBay said I only had 30 days to complain so I wrote an email to PayPal and the sided with me. Also once a bought two bags and I got charged with the money but the store said they never received my order, again I wrote to PayPal and I got my money back. Thank you for the advices Sophie!!❤️❤️

Informative, knowledgable, practical and done with utmost care and respect for her audience. Well done. You should get an award for your Chanel. Hi! I follow a French youtuber and she said that we shouldn't buy an item that has been on display because it has been exposed to light (natural and artificial). Artificial light tends to heat things and alter color.
Useful tips, Sophie! I definitely agree with taking photos of yourself in the changing room as I often find I notice certain things from the photo. I put some of my bags in their dust bags, but keep the top open to get some air 😊 xx
Hi Sophie, big bags / jumbos will be making their comeback in 2023. Have you watched some of the fashion shows for AF 2023? I have a feeling the Chanel Jumbo and Hermes 35 Birkin will be making a comeback very soon. Great tips in the video.
This is all fab advice. I bought my first luxury bag a few months ago and because I bought it on the retailers site, I just didn’t have anyone tell me that I needed gels and sprays to protect it. I bought waterproof gel from the brand, but apparently I needed a spray product too which I didn’t know. Bag Tip: Check the leather hides used are matching. The hide on the animals back is tight and not wrinkly, but the hide taken from the animals belly is loose and wrinkly. Bag Tip: Check the leather hides used are matching. The hide on the animals back is tight and not wrinkly, but the hide taken from the animals belly is loose and wrinkly. Leather workers making cost saving measures will sew the mismatching leather pieces together, I’ve noticed Chloe will do this, it doesn’t look good

man, i don't have a credit card so i'm just going to not buy from ebay lol
Amex has prepaid cards you can purchase and pit the money on. That way you have the same protections that a regular Amex card has.
Sophie.. no offense but that top is not a good fit for you.. too much length in the sleeves. ide take it back or alter the arm length
I think it looks lovely. Love that soft and cosy look ❤️
