Who's with me on not purchasing? For another reference XclusiveAce on Twitter had this to say: Tweet 1: Not sure what happened but the MWIII Beta became borderline unplayable for me today. I feel like I'm dying in 2 shots more often than not. It was significantly easier playing against pros and streamers at CoD NEXT than it has been today. Tweet 2: Decided to compare to the experience on my testing account & big surprise, it's not even the same game... I'm not asking for bot lobbies like this but there's got to be a middle ground that at least yields a fair feeling connection for my main account.
They saved us all money by showing their hand before we’d even bought the game. SBMM is here to stay, it’s time to move on for good players. The stress isn’t worth it anymore, games are supposed to be fun.
I guess another way to look at it is if you're a new player and constantly put in lobbies with players who are just destroying you every game, that isn't fun for them either. From a company perspective, it's tough to manage that skill balance between good players and bad players
@@Mortlerickle123to be honest we were all there at a certain point. We all started at the bottom getting streaked on and shit and we learned, adapted and got better, they can do the same. My friends refuse to play with me because of these systems that are put in place and they are punished for being in my lobbies. That shouldn’t be the case and we should be able to play with anyone.
SBMM is also choosing if the lobby disbands or not. If I do bad in a match then it keeps me with the same lobby but when I pub stomp for one game it will kick me into another lobby right after the match ends. Anybody else noticed this?
When I win it’ll keep the second place guy with me to give him a chance but it’ll put us to with sweaty individuals. I won that match and got put with players that are trying to win $20,000 if they win
It always seems way higher in beta because the pool of players it picks from for your matches is way smaller than when the game goes live. You're playing against the sweatiest of the sweats in beta. These dude live cod and play it like there is 10k on the line. SBMM is still gonna suck but the betas are always the strongest
A big problem is if you're above average, your ping gets worse and worse. Also the disbanding lobbies suck. You can't find people you like to play with or have a rivalry with. It's new people every game. Plus you end up in matches in progress more often.
First game ping was low dropped 30+ kills. Next game I was searching for like 5 min ping went up to 90. Was getting two shot across the map 12-20. Game is trash
I remember the good old days on OG mw2 when you would find some rivals in a pub match and be talking smack over the course of 5-6-7 games making friends laughing hard and adding them to your friends list after. I have not made a single friend online in this new age of gaming my friends list used to be FULL back in the day
i feel like no matter how good the multiplayer is, it can be the best multiplayer ever to be created, the sbmm will always be there, and it really depends on us wether we want to deal to with it, OR not even buy cod anymore which i highly recommend
@@aleksandarsavevski377mw2019 was hacked from the waist down by SBMM, kryptonte doors to make Joe ceccocks wet dreams come through, removal of red dots and the annoying slide shit
I'm going to listen this year, BT. I'm a 50 year old with arthritis in my hands, and SBMM also affects me. If I'm fortunate to have good matches, it will throw my old a$$ into a sweat pit of quick scopers and mega sweats. Love your content, you keep the sh!t real.
If I'm being honest. I like the game but there are a "couple" of problems. 1. People camp on literally every map and it's almost impossible to find where they are camping unless their red name tag appears on screen. 2. I feel like I've been getting killed in 2 shots when my gun takes the entire mag to kill someone. 3. When I run into a player and try to shoot, the gun takes like half a second to register that and by the time it shoots a bullet I am dead 4. The sweats are insane 5. Every player keeps spamming that god damn exploding drone 6. Anyone else getting random packet bursts?
You’re 100% right the switch was flipped. Wednesday and Thursday I was having a good time playing the game, Friday I was having a completely different experience. It was really frustrating losing gun fights when I was getting 1st shots in, aim started to feel broken, and spawns started placing me next to enemy’s more. Completely different feeling then previous two days.
the fact that games with SBMM feel more unfair than games without SBMM. One round I'll drop 50 kills with 9 deaths and the next I get 3 kills while dying 28 times and I'm fighting sweaty Faze clan wannabe players. also, what you said about SBMM being stronger is 100% true. it has felt way worse than the SBMM in mw2 personally.
I switched to my girlfriends account to see if it was just me going crazy or this is the strongest sweatiest SBMM ever. I had the exact same controller and graphic settings and let me tell you. On my account ( LVL 29) it’s like the game mode cranked, constantly. Taking full mags to kill yet getting killed in 3 shots. Visibility compared to my girlfriends level 3 account is literal night and day. Aim assist is non existent on my account. I don’t mind a challenge but there is a line. I was really enjoying the gameplay until SBMM kicked in and got me in this endless death loop. I’m just target practice for sweats at this point. No thanks.
The whole beta has been a rough time for me lol I've gone from a player that top frags regularly, to getting my shit well and truly pushed in. The SBMM in this game has totally put me off buying.
i went 48 kills 6 deaths first game with no lag against literal bot enemy players. very next game was the sweatiest slide canceling and bunny hoping players I've ever experienced as well as being laggy and I went 10 kills 20 deaths and the game timed out without reaching the score. I really hate SBMM.
crazy thing is that cod's version of sbmm is so predatory it is never a constant fair fight. You're either stomping or getting stomped. Other games with normal sbmm feel way less punishing because it is actually keeping the matches fair and not setting you up for failure.
I'm going to say it: making millions of dollars or at least achieving a good life is FAR easier and MUCH less stressful than playing a game like COD and making it to the top of the leaderboard. Why? Because atleast in real life you're always going to get actual benefits from your hard work. And you won't be facing an algorithm where you are bound to lose when it wants you to and you have no say in the matter.
You've been playing too much video games that you forgot how harsh and unfair real life is, intentionally and artificially which is some sort of algorithm, the real life's SBMM is hellish. "in real life you're always going to get actual benefits from your hard work." to that I say (realistically and statistically) hell no.
This has to be a ploy by Activision to piss off the player base why in the world would they crank up the sbmm after a million complaints for THREE YEARS to tell them to either tone it down or remove it and they still have it in but just made it worse
Because their prey is free to play players. They don’t give a fuck about you. You don’t matter to them. At all. Timmy who logs on for free with moms credit card and wants the new rat skin is their prey/customer. They need to protect them so they don’t leave.
Devs cater to the casual player base more than sweaty player base, which is fair I suppose it makes up the majority just sucks for anyone who is above average at the game they get shafted
The game stomps you, places the worst players on your team and hurles the sweatiest players at you at light speed. I had a guy annihilating everyone with the striker. Everybody on my team was camping, scared to move and completely useless. I could squeeze out maybe ten kills to like 24 deaths, it was awful from many perspectives. This game could be good if they scaled back some of the gameplay features, tuned the SBMM and perfected spawns. The beta is 60% there.
Good lord that's some scummy practices. Guess that guy who wanted to spend $1 on ammo was close to perfection. Let's paywall weapons for 100 dollars instead of ammo. lol
You’re misconstruing it. You don’t *have* to buy the Vault Edition to get those. That only gets them for you right away. If you rank up to 30, you’ll unlock those same weapons.
Yeah but with the horrible Matchmaking that utterly punishes you for 'winning' it'll take you forever to reach Rank 30. Seems like the 'Vault Edition' is to skip the pain in the ass that is the horrible Matchmaking a la, the Matchmaking *became* a problem, and the Vault Edition *became* the solution to said problem.@@CornFed_3
Hearing you say that the SBMM kicked in HARD after a certain point, gave me a thought...On Steam (and I believe most online game stores as well) the refund policy is that as long as you have played the game for less than 2 hours, you get a full refund. I bet that their entire strategy revolves around letting the game be fun for those 2 hours and then cranking the SBMM up. Cranking up SBMM will keep people playing because it slows your progression to a halt, taking you longer to level up and earn things like new guns/perks/etc. Plus, by then, since people won't be able to refund the game, they'll feel pressured to keep playing because of the sunk cost fallacy, essentially "I spent $70 on this game, I should keep playing". I'm not denying that there are people who genuinely enjoy the game and play it because of that, but I think a lot of people are pressured into feeling like they need to keep playing.
fortunately with steam if you preorder it there, you can refund your money since the game isnt out yet. i prordered the vault edition and after the shitfest experience yesterday, i requested a refund.
@@VoidByDarkness I went from having a 12 person kill streak in free for all now I can barely get 5 kills sbmm hit me way harder than everyone else 1.4 kd to 0.7 and I always had a 0.45 WL ratio but it as BT said kept putting me on insanely bad teams
@@FacTzZiiq The locations of the spawns aren't bad, it's the spawning director system that decides which one you spawn at that is busted, the fact it has been broken since MW 2019 tells me it's deliberate.
@@Rexhunterj It has to be. Making the game completely unpredictable is a great equalizer. Doesn't matter much if you have great aim or movement if you can't read the game.
SAme here. Been playing since COD 2 on the 360, SBMM ruined everything. Done with cod permanently until they change the matchmaking. The game is not fun anymore and I am having fun playing other games :)
After your first match you said there was something. I actually planned on buying COD game for the first time since BO2. I guess not anymore. Cheers for the video.

@@Slate674its not about bot lobbies, bot. Its about having an organic experience with mixed lobbies based on ping first. You newfrags have no idea what youre talking about
The level of SBMM thats in lobbies now should only exist in ranked lobbies and for normal lobbies it should only exist so that the bottom 20-30% doesnt get matched with the top 20-30%. But oh well, it's been a fun ride guys, just gonna enjoy the older cods and other games now as there are a ton of options now
I don’t think COD will ever be the same regardless of SBMM…back in the day most people were casual weekend players but now this whole entire new generation aspires to be a professional twitch streamer
Good point, but still, matchmaking with all 12 in the lobby being random players not selected by a stupid skill system + letting the matchmaking be connection based is 101% better than sbmm. I play One game in my server I have 20 ping, on second game I'm in russian server with 60+ ping against 6 try hards why💔
True there are more sweats but its not as much as people think. Sbmm gives u the illusion that everyone is good. Go bad a few games and you will see a bunch of average players. Do horrible for a few games and you will the most trash players that bots on recruit difficulty could kill
That's what I liked about the black-ops series before cold war. You could just use up all the custom slots with different gun builds and just have fun with them. Can't really do that now in either core or hardcore you have to use the meta guns or you'll just get destroyed.
Guns are so inconsistent that I don’t know if there’s neta guns or not for multiplayer. Some one will have the same gun as me I’ll shoot first and they just obliterate me
@@zaiasm2305 That's true to a extent. Outside of bundles, the meta is generally the newest season guns. the shotguns with the right attachments generally need a big nerf they're almost sniper rifles with spread, The M4, kastov-74u and TAQ-56 are for the most part fairly consistent at all ranges. If you can stick to close to mid range the fennec-45 will generally beat everything so long as you don't get into a 3v1 situation.
Well this isn't going to be popular but it's what I did , since the sbmm... what I did was play 3 games trying different guns getting recked and 4th game ran meta , great fun .. I figured I need to play 2 to 3 bad games anyway to be able to have fun for 1 game
As someone who's first true COD love was (2009) MW2, when i heard that MWiii = 2009 MW2 in the Cold War engine, I was so hyped. I had fallen out of playing COD after the (2011) MW3. I played a few hours of Advanced Warfare inbetween and was ashamed at what COD had become, so I was never planning on buying another one again. But then Covid hit, so what else was there to do but game. So, I got Cold War and my initial reaction was wow, I love how this game plays. It feels like the best things for the golden era CODs (2007-2010 IMO) and slightly updated it for the present. But then SBMM hit. Even as someone who was only pretty good back in the day, and hadn't played any FPS games in like 5 years, once I got the muscle memory back about a month in it was just sweat city. I kept playing a few months but all the fun of COD was gone. It felt like every game was in the first half of a rocky training montage, but you never get the Bah-Bah-BuMBuMBUBMMM lift your fists in the air to celebrate making it to the top of the stairs moments. It's a groundhog day loop of the early montage clips... If they at least put in a public rank/tier system, it would be so much better. I think there's plenty of better alternatives to SBMM in its current state, but that would be a huge start. So it devastates me that my favorite COD of all time got remade in the best COD engine, and it's unplayable not because of a fundamental software/hardware limitation, but because of greedy misinformed executives who mandated the secret SBMM system. P.S. Explain how 2019 MW !- 2007 MW 2022 MW2 != 2009 MW2 2023 MWiii !-= 2011 MW3 but instead 2023 MWiii(3) == 2009 MW2 ????? Maybe I should've known better than to get my hopes up...
Bro I’ve been noticing since I’ve been getting higher in rank and trying to use guns that other people aren’t using I looked at kill cam recorded it and seen my sim going left and right and I was aiming directly at the guy I’m like wait did I just experience aim resist for the first time ever???
The problem is the players that stay are the ones that buy all the bullshit in the game therefore fewer players doesn’t matter to IW at all, it’s all about the bottom line
@@LukeD-Alwaysyup there was one kid bragging about how he spends 250 dollars a month in this game or mw2 on skins and bundles ....made me sick hearing that .... I get it your money you do what you want ...but this is why we are in the pile of dogshit we are in now...
This is why I’ve been playing bo4 for the past years since its launch. It’s a great fun fast paced game that doesn’t punishes you for rushing. Its sbmm is great. I’ve been playing cod since its start. Once 2019 was was released I was excited! But holy f*** the sbmm was insane. Since the beginning I’ve gotten so good at the game and had a blast getting better and better each game. But now it’s trashes you if you get better and it horrible. It’s so noticeable if you been playing for a long time. I feel bad for peeps who haven’t had the chance to play the prior cods in their hay day.
Variety was the best part of old cods. You could have fun getting gold on almost any weapon. I got gold on a grand total of one ar/smg in BO4 but enjoyed getting it for every pistol, shotgun, tac rifle, etc., at least until I got to the koshka post nerf. Tbh I feel like a lot of BO2 love is rose tinted glasses, at least as far as balance. The SMGs were literal hipfire laser sniper rifles that could destroy someone accross the map in seconds, while you could get hipmarkers from shoving the pump shotty where the sun doesn't shine inside the enemy, only for them to turn around and kill you. That's not to say what we have now is better, just to say there were major issues.
I wish more people would listen to you. Today I was put into a game with TeeP, CourageJD, and symfunny, top 250 players in the world...I've been playing since COD4 and I would say I'm an above average player but goddamn it's just not a fun experience. Every day after I get done playing my brain just feels fried because of how hard I need to try
I even played during the Free Multiplayer Access and SBMM was poisoned in that, too! You would think they would let up on the algorithm on a free weekend to entice you to buy the game and then turn up SBMM. But no, it was alive and well during the Free Access
After trying out the beta, I had a game where my entire team had 15 deaths EACH except for people who just joined late. While our kills were different, it did not surprise me in the slightest that this year's COD is going to be absolutely riddled with SBMM's horribly strict matchups. SBMM was the only thing that kept me from playing MW2022's 6v6 modes as well. I only played Invasion most of the time because it was so spaced out and had more players doing more stuff that the system couldn't help but put us in the lobby. I also played at early hours in the morning to make sure that there was even less for it to choose. Still, even then, there were times where it flicked me up a rank and suddenly there was nothing I could do even as a SNIPER. To see that MW3's SBMM is stronger is just saddening honestly. I want to have my highs and my lows come from my skill alone, not what the game decided to give me due to my skill. If I'm a bad player, let me feel that instead of giving me lies.
I had a game on MW 2019 where our whole team died exactly 20 times, and everyone had 18-22 kills. Played for over 10 years and never seen anything anywhere close to that before. The whole game is an algorithm
SBMM is insane like 99% of matches are sweaty games and even my first game had sweaty players. and the spawns are absurd and I feel like the net code needs work as well because I feel like the random gunfights from my POV feel inconsistent like my bullets are not registering properly like 98% of the time and my aim is good back in MWII like I had no problem with my aim.
the spawns are by far the worst.. i think birdman explained it well. its like a revenge system. When you kill someone they spawn in close proximity often behind you
Literally this, it takes your stats from Mw2 and Vanguard into consideration. I was level 1 in a lobby with big ass names. Zen, Karma, CleanX, Simp, Astra etc. All pros / semi pros or retired. Like everyone in the lobby recognized each other from either lans or GBs, it was fucking wild.
Mw2 had insane aim assist there was no skill with aiming there’s gold players that can beam hell my coworker was even able to to beam a little as soon as he started playing
You need NetDuma router, just back out of any game you don't like, reverse boost, play with massive 5-6 parties, etc.... Or play and hope Xdefiant is good and or play other games (rip COD).
This game is fun and good I agree the sbmm is horrible in it. It just sucks that a game with this much potential and one the best cods in 8 years will be plagued with sbmm
feels like the sbmm in the beta is crancked to 100% i got level 30s and level 1s sliding and jumping around corners like crazy, rushing is basically impossible
mechanics FEEL nice, but it's too fast paced if overpowered SBMM is going to be a factor. The gameplay is going to be a numb experience of never feeling satisfied or feeling accomplished. Sweaty players will sweat more than ever - every match is a gamble and like kicking a dead horse. While replaying MW2 maps are bittersweet, it is also just boring playing maps i've already played, not to mention it's not going to feel special anyways because SBMM ruins oldschool maps anyways. This game is made to sell skins and make you try hard more than ever. Hard pass for $94 CAD for a game that wastes your time.
I constantly get put into games in progress. Literally go through lobby team balancing, the whole countdown from like 10-15 seconds, thinking I’m joining a fresh game. Then I join in to my team losing and the game halfway over. Happens like 90% of the time I try to play. I have 2.5kd in MW2 and always feel like I’m lagging or having constant packet burst in world tournaments, MW3 beta same if not worse :(
How the fuck can you have a 2.5kd? I thought that was literally impossible in the last few CODs. I thought SBMM was designed to make everyone’s KD about 1.00
I’ve always had between a 1.5 and 3.00 KD in all CODs since cod4 and up to ww2. After that my ratio has been like 0.95 every game. It’s probably like 0.8 in mw3. Fuck SBMM
I had a 3 kd in mw2019, first game of mwII on release night I went 89-4. After that I struggled to break 40 kills no matter how good I was playing. Only played for like a month and I will never buy another COD unless they publicly admit the skill based accuracy and damage exist and are removed.
The spawns on this game are fucking awful. Nobody touches on that enough. The original MW2 maps are absolutely ruined because of the fact that the entire fluidity of the OG map is dogshit. I run around the map and find no one, and then they spawn behind me. Forces me to camp and use meta weapons
The sbmm is what ALWAYS let me know who the cheating streamers are. Ever notice how they somehow get so many lobbies where the other team is clueless and seem to have no reaction time? let alone the streamers seem to almost never get shot from behind. How is it that sbmm is supposed to match EVERYBODY with the players of similar skill, but some of these streamers who are considered among the best never play people of the same skill level. Just looks to me like it gets easier for them, but when I play well I get matched with cheaters and MLG Pro-esque players. It seems like everybody has laser beam aim and a line of sight on me, which forces me to play super sweaty to compete all the time.
@@kingdomlamb7741 ^ If it was just VPNing to dead servers way more people would be doing it. Brazil isn't a dead server either despite what most people will say. There was a theory that there are actual lobbies filled with AI bots and the lowest skill players in the game, people who ALWAYs go sub 1.0kdr. The theory held water for a long time because people like Nadia were very clearly sponsored by Activision despite it being obvious that Nadia was cheating. You'd see bot players who looked literally braindead as if they had never ever used a gamepad or played a video game ever, yet it's a Warzone lobby FULL of over a hundred of them. Impossible when in Australia/OCE the lobbies would never go higher than 80/150 in MW2, if you think a 'dead server' allows this, you're mistaken.
@@RexhunterjBot lobbies exist in Apex Legends even though respawn hasn't came out and admitted it yet. There's videos on RUclips proving it. I wouldn't be surprised if every game nowadays has bots in the lobbies.

I just don’t get why Activision doesn’t get it. We don’t want to pub stomp newbs every game nor do we want to sweat every game. We just want variety sometimes I just want to have some games where I can shut off and go off on newbs. But other times I’m down for some tough competition to keep me on my toes. I don’t like Microsoft acquiring Activision but if they want to do something right get rid of or change SBMM.

I was getting so excited for the beta because I haven’t bought a call of duty game for 4 or 5 years now because of the state it’s been in, but seeing that it’s worse than Cold War just makes me sad
That's addiction buddy, keep it cold turkey, lots of other arcade FPS games out there you can sink your teeth into that won't kick your balls every day.
I won't buy either. For the matter of principle. They shit the bed too many times, they can't be trusted. That's like going back to your ex (who was abusing you mentally) the moment she stops saying bad things about you
Theres no SBMM in Battlefield games and they do fine without it. I think this will be the first call of duty since Call Of Duty 1 that I didnt buy. Its sad but maybe we arent the target audience anymore.
Yeah, battlefield reminded me of old cod in the sense I fricken sucked at that game in the beginning. Then after some time I adapted and got better and it became even more fun. It just takes practice like everything in life.
All they need is 3 modes- SBMM (beginners mode), Pub mode (Enter at your own Risk), and Ranked. I promise you, the player retention would be the best it-s ever been because no one would leave and new new players will come. I always start out and play for a couple of month then get burned out from having to play so sweaty every match. It really takes a toll on my mental state. I miss the days of old where everything was random and there was friendly banter and boasting, and friends were made. Now it rude, trashed talking try hard mama's boys telling u ur a loser because ur good or ur trash be u were camping....when mostly i run and gun, but if i hear u running at me i'm challenging u. If ur camping and i see u, i'm sneaking on u. God! I hate the way CoD feels now. New kids have no idea how good it use to be. Sorry for the rant. lol LOVE UR CONTENT, THO!!!
They have done this sort of system in rts games for years. Works perfectly, no matter what you are looking for play wise you can find it. Beginner modes exist for a reason, in casuals who really cares? It is there to have fun.. SBMM or beginner mode is for those players. Ranked is for the people who wantto win, ranked is expected to be difficult. Seems like a ridiculously simple, and easy fix too simply add a matchmaking type.
Sbmm is killing this franchise 🗿 glad you gave shg their flowers tho, I had a feeling deep down they wouldnt flop a MW3 at all for a second go-around. The last time they did granted was a whole different team and time, but mw3 2011 is my favorite cod no contest. But activision is killing these guys who actually want to make a game. Hopefully shg, 3arc and IW just audit their contracts and separate from activision and go what zimmerman did and make their own franchise so we can see if its them or activision bleeding the series dry.
Also not buying. Just picking up my steelbook edition that I set money aside from since I cant even play it due to having a series s lol. Thanks for keeping it real as always BT. You and Thunder do not lie
It's not just killing the franchise but it's dividing the fanbase. You know how much we are fighting each other on wether SBMM (EOMM) exist in this game. Activision did it in such a way that is so hidden you gotta truly experience and learn the pattern to realize it's existence.
@@btstone1163 sbmm has always existed, it just wasnt so prevalent as it is now sadly, it used to be more connection based match making, and the sbmm would just slightly play a role in team balance. Now its flopped so hard, i dont hate sbmm, like in apex, fortnite, etc, pure br games are geared for that kind of play, to PUSH your limits each time. Those kind of games arent respawn modes so it isnt ‘fun’ its a ‘who can make it to the finish line in one life’ but when you apply that same mentality to game modes that have you engaging with the same 6-12 people over and over, dude thats horrible. And the sbmm in cod specifically has just gotten worse
@SunnyDEElight Yeah I know that bud. EOMM hasn't always existed tho. That is what a lot of people are describing and what splits the fan base. People either believe it is real and as severe as we say, or else they call u a nut and say we're coping. I agree, SBMM isn't bad when applied appropriately. When you use the extreme mode which is EOMM, that's when it becomes bad for any game. When a game can manipulate your experience by altering certain mechanics within that game, it is something brand new and toxic.
I’m surprised NOBODYs talking about the footsteps being non existent all game long. When someone has the dead silence perk(covert sneakers or something) you hear absolutely nothing. I have a 500$ headset with a GameDAC and on any other cod I can hear your grandma cooking breakfast if I tried. With the faster movement, autistic sbmm/eomm it’s unplayable. I understand i shouldn’t be able to hear people half way across the map, but we should be able to hear something with or without that perk. The dead silence field upgrade was way more smooth. Didn’t personally like it at first in mw2. Then you realize that’s how it should be. Everything flows much better.
The more lax sbmm was one of the reasons I liked Vanguard. Of course they won't add in combat pacing anymore, can't have any good features carried into the next game, that would be crazy
I played the beta when it opened up for all ps players last week, was super happy with the game. I watched your video yesterday about the SBMM getting worse the second weekend and that’s absolutely true. Me and my same friend I was playing with last weekend won a couple games of cutthroat and the next match was beyond sweaty. All pc players on the other teams, all playing as if it was a tournament or ranked play. The other thing I noticed was I felt like I had ZERO aim assist the whole time we were on. Oh and another interesting thing I realized while playing last night, my ping. First beta weekend when it was open to all PS players I had probably between 12 and 25 ping every match. This second weekend now, where my ping should theoretically be as good if not better than last due to more players (Xbox, PC, PS), my ping was up into the 40s and 50s. Once again the game is prioritizing skill matching over cold hard connection. It’s so obvious. EDIT: Forgot to mention on cut throat, me and my buddy are level 20-23, facing other teams that are stacked with level 30’s, and we get a LEVEL 1 on our team.
I’ve pre-ordered MW3 this year, and I am not disappointed, but it does not change the fact that how sweaty my matches are. I remember in BO2, my KD was in the twos and I face sweats here and there, but ever since I decided to carry on that “sweaty mentality,” I’ve started going against players who are just down right better than me. I read comments saying they had easy matches on the beta, but ever since I started it up, I only went against people who drop shot and jump shot all game. I can gladly say, and not embarrassed too as well, that MW2 was one of the first game where my KD dropped tremendously due to sweats every game. The first year I averaged a 1.02 KD. And to me was almost the last COD game I was ever going to buy.
I just played cod 4 remastered earlier. Literally so nice. No people moving 40mph jumping around like a lunatic, no sweats. Just people enjoying the game, relaxing, and most importantly.. having fun
@@kashty024 True! I hate the fact that just for me to keep up with someone, I have to use META. I am the type of person on COD that just wants to have fun and use different guns, not the person who wants to use the TAQ 55 every game just to drop high kill games. In this year beta, I dropped a 60 bomb and I was not using meta (striker and ACR), I was just having fun with the bas-p. I miss the old times, for real.
i resonate completely with what youre saying. i remember in the of OG MW2, BO, MW3 days my K/D was around 1.3-1.5. thats because i exclusively played OG Ground War and mostly used snipers. Even when i was getting my ass handed to me, It was fun and i didnt feel like i was being cheated. I returned to MW2022 after a decade haitus from the franchise and i kid you not, it was the first time i asked myself "am i really that ass in COD?". i eventually made it to a 1.1K/D and 1.0 W/L after changing to meta builds. Whats crazy though is i actually performed better in RANKED than i did in pubs. I was able to make it to Gold II solo and mentally keeping track, i would say that my K/D would put me around a 1.5. I felt vindicated. Maybe its because of the lower player count or the quality of SBMM, but it was a complete opposite experience for me and more fun. Im 30 now so i dont have the time or energy to dedicate myself to the grind like when i was 15-16. but its eye-opening that given the strict nature of ranked play, my stats there would indicate that im a better player than what the public stats would indicate that i am. I understand that the player base got better over that time but the "sweat mentality" you mentions is completely cancer. I refunded the vault edition and decided to buy the game again when they release season 1 of ranked. if im going to sweat my nuts off then im gonna make sure its worth the energy.
@@Anthonydpfor real. The second I hit level 25 and onwards it has been absolutely nuts. Aim assist badsicslly gets turned off. Aim sensitivity is off, graphics seem worse, enemies are bullet sponges yet I die in 3 hits. I was pumped for this game but this SBMM is taking the absolute pish
It would be funny if you pay more money, SBMM *gives you a bone.* Something tells me that *actually* happens in MW2019 and MW Part 2 and now Part 3.@@river2352 Since they've patented where you spend money anyways.
Ima just play Xdefiant. The MW3 core game is actually good like you said but everyone will eventually get tired of sweats like we all do every year and this game will be dry by February.
I agree 100% the game is so good fundamentally, but the SBMM is so strong I haven't had 1 easy game every match I play is ppl jumping around corners and sliding. I played 2 matches today and I had a nuke dropped on me twice back-to-back because my teammates kept dying, I was so confused because I dies like 6 times and had 22 kills If Ur even remotely Ok at the game the sbmm is going to slaughter you.
I just wanna say thank you. Yesterday I lost my fckn mind realizing that even a great CoD sucks with SBMM and was desperately searching for someone responsible to at least hurt mentaly. Somehow listening to your rages gives me pease again. I guess ranked will be fun tho. I know it´s not your thing, but you could give it a try. I think you would also perform very well on twitch with that
They need to add the beginners playlist like the older cods had, where you join that up until you're level 10 etc, then chucked in at the deep end like all of us back in the day. If sbmm wasn't in the newer games or massively reduced, I'd throw a lot of my money into the game, buying skins etc, but at the minute? Not a chance.
I started playing in 2007 as well. After the original MW3 it seems like the franchise shifted in a radical new direction. Now we have Nicki Minaj running around with Snoop Dogg, SBMM instead of lobby leaderboards, a broken prestige system with generic calling cards, and scope glint that mimics a giant flashlight. It disgusts me what they've done to such an iconic title. I will no longer be supporting it.
They've datamined previous cods where your SBMM stats are recorded and determins your next cod/beta even before mw19, since sbmm came in like AW throughout BO4
Gunfights since mw2019 have felt rigged. I don’t know if it’s some kind of lag or my weapon is actually nerfed in real time but ever since mw2019 all gunfights have felt rigged for me to the point where I immediately know if I’m going to win or lose the gunfight.
Also I’m tired of hearing “the core game is good” it’s really not good the core of the game is is sbmm matchmaking the tac sprint is retarded, sliding is retarded, the gunsmith is retarded, they’re adding all these half ass features. Why do we have 60 different sights/scopes that all have to constantly get balanced and updated there’s bound to be issues that’s too many all we need is a few scopes and red dots not all the extra bullshit
The best call of duty’s have been the most basic call of duty’s with little tweaks here and there. Get rid of the gunsmith and go back to the pick 10 system from black ops 2.
And to top it off we’re getting 16 remakes from 15 years ago and they want us to pay a full $70? They didn’t have to put in any hard work for map design they just had to update textures and colors, If people actually buy this shit we can’t even complain anymore we’ll never win
Unfortunately almost every player thinks they're on cdl tryouts or something, playing as if they're actually gonna get payed, and since the community is way too brain rotted, everyone says "skill issue" or "get good" I don't want to spend hours of my life stressing on movement techs, jumping in corners, diving, best guns/setups, etc. I WANNA HAVE A CHILL, FUN, GAMING SESSION One where I don't gotta worry about people just flying past me all the time and not being able to do anything about it. But since the devs don't listen to anything we say, I guess it is what it is
I jumped back into cod 4 remastered and man no sbmm lobbies feel so good. It reaffirmed that I don't hate cod, I hate sbmm and how it makes the games feel. I'm in the 28000s on the leaderboards globally for ps4 and I still get a good mix of players. It really wouldn't be so hard to have an actual casual mode. I mean halo 3 figured it out back in the day with ranked and social play. It's not that hard to implement if bungie could do it in like 2007
This is why I play HC. SBMM can only stop you from playing well so much. It doesn't work the best in HC because it can't stop your target acquisition. Sure it can make a shot or two not register but when you only need 1 headshot to kill it's pretty manageable.
Yea I agree it’s definitely stronger than before. I can’t even really dive deep in the beta cause each game mfs are bunny hopping, sliding into bunny hops, pre fire, strong head glitches.. MCW/Striker. Like it’s literally not fun at all. Even when I do have a good game I have to sweat my ahh off each gun fight.
Exactly!!!! Finally!!!! I thought I was going crazy because all the matches I die instantly and the enemies eat bullets without dying. And everyone was saying the game was fun. I could not understand it I'll say this again here... The only thing good about MWIII is the movement. SBMM is insane and I'm definitely not buying this game
My problem with SBMM is the type of players I end up going against. I don’t commonly go against players I feel like are actually better. I rush like a dog chasing a squirrel, I play obj hard, I always go for the longshots, and I’m always trying to flank. I’m pretty good, my kd is like a 1.3, but thats just because i know how to play the game. I’m a sweat forsure, but I play to have competitive fun. I’ll have a good game, then end up playing the kids that sit in corners with shotguns or camp in the back of the map with a thermal LMG. It’s not skill-based, its stat-based. So I’ll end up against the trash kids that have fake-good stats because they play like weirdos. That being said, a tip to cheese your W/L ratio: Play FFA. If you can get kills and finish top 3, it counts as a win.
So I said I'd check back in. I hadn't played since season 1 and just started back a week ago. Until yesterday (1 week) SBMM seemed non existent. However from my first game yesterday I was plagued with dolphin diving, ice skating, jumping jack sweats. So it looks like they either tone SBMM way down or turn it off on a returning/inactive account for about a week, just long enough for you to consider buying the battlepass because the game seems to not be as bad as it use to. I will say though I can now feel the SBMM it is not as crippling as it once was, not yet anyhow. I will also say they have done something to the gameplay I can't put my finger on that makes it seem more fun, or that could just be the new maps since season 1. Another weird thing I noticed is now you get more battlepass xp/progression the worse you do in matches. If you get 30-40 kills and come out with a 2.0 the meter barely moves. If you have a match where you kill 10 people and go .5 you get nearly a whole level/token.
I do actually agree with you and I was going to buy it myself after playing this weekend. I changed my mind last night when I noticed how different matchmaking felt.
Here's what really sucks about Call of Duty as a franchise now. Gone are the days when I could come home from work or school (back then), hop into a game of S&D and use the Executioner, Type 25, Swat 556 or KSG and play for fun in Black Ops II. Now, if I want to play for fun and do passable, I've got to hope I get a team that has no business playing against me OR I've got to break out the Striker 45 or MCW and just play meta until one of us strokes out. These stopped being fun, casual, arcade shooters and became essentially a part time (or full time) job to play. I remember doing the "Fresh Start" in Black Ops II twice over because I'd played casually enough so many times and done good enough to complete everything without really having to go out of my way for anything specific, and I did that twice. Now, if I want to finish a camo on anything off meta, I've got to break my teeth just to get halfway there before it's rigged halfway in my favor or wait until more competitive guns release and act like I did the launchers or shield. It's dumb and does little more than trivialize 90% of the weapons in the game. I played the beta for free, and it was enough to steer me clear from the game, and it sucks because it's got the foundation, they just forgot to make it a fun game to play.
COD was an absolute juggernaut back then. I know modern CODs can sell very well, but old CODs sold around same on much smaller pool of hardware. In other terms, this is a fairly educated guess but at its peak (in my opinion peak and you'll see why I say peak), around MW2 2009 to Black Ops 1, probably like half of all Xbox 360s had a copy of Call of Duty, similar on PS3 as well .That to me is insane! That would be if MW2019 sold 50-75 million. COD wasn't just the definitive shooter, it was the definitive multiplayer game.
I remember the days when it was possible to win a 1v3 gunfight. I'm spending an entire goddamn mag on one person because damage and ttk is all over the damn place.
To me, the words “competitive” and “modern cod” going together is like mixing mustard with mac and cheese. No matter how you spin it, it’s either gonna be mediocre or just awful.
@BlameTruth I’ve played a good sample size over the last few days. I can 100% promise, they changed the severity of the SBMM day by day to get progressively more strict.
Who's with me on not purchasing? For another reference XclusiveAce on Twitter had this to say:
Tweet 1: Not sure what happened but the MWIII Beta became borderline unplayable for me today. I feel like I'm dying in 2 shots more often than not. It was significantly easier playing against pros and streamers at CoD NEXT than it has been today.
Tweet 2: Decided to compare to the experience on my testing account & big surprise, it's not even the same game... I'm not asking for bot lobbies like this but there's got to be a middle ground that at least yields a fair feeling connection for my main account.
they need to stop making one of the best series of games so BAD. sbmm is so awful
I’m only playing the beta cause it’s free. The sbmm is getting annoying really fast that it’s ridiculous
Any thought on Microsoft acquisition. Possibly they dial down SBMM. Wishful thinking lol
been playing since cod 4 as well so i do remember the good days at least.
i knew this day would come lol, sbmm will never go away smh
They saved us all money by showing their hand before we’d even bought the game. SBMM is here to stay, it’s time to move on for good players. The stress isn’t worth it anymore, games are supposed to be fun.
preach brother
Yup just waiting for Xdefiant
I guess another way to look at it is if you're a new player and constantly put in lobbies with players who are just destroying you every game, that isn't fun for them either. From a company perspective, it's tough to manage that skill balance between good players and bad players
@@Mortlerickle123they can learn to get good like the rest of us but I get what you mean
They probably check your KD once a match ends and then filter you into a new sweaty stream of players, honestly annoying asf
I sure noticed this.

I have not made a single friend online in this new age of gaming my friends list used to be FULL back in the day
I love seeing 3 ms and the next im floating around 28ms & packet loss

I'm going to listen this year, BT. I'm a 50 year old with arthritis in my hands, and SBMM also affects me. If I'm fortunate to have good matches, it will throw my old a$$ into a sweat pit of quick scopers and mega sweats. Love your content, you keep the sh!t real.
Somebody look at this.. this is sad, how have we gotten to this point 😖
Who cares ? You know your buying it. Content is needed
Right it's like a double edge sword
If I'm being honest. I like the game but there are a "couple" of problems.
1. People camp on literally every map and it's almost impossible to find where they are camping unless their red name tag appears on screen.
2. I feel like I've been getting killed in 2 shots when my gun takes the entire mag to kill someone.
3. When I run into a player and try to shoot, the gun takes like half a second to register that and by the time it shoots a bullet I am dead
4. The sweats are insane
5. Every player keeps spamming that god damn exploding drone
6. Anyone else getting random packet bursts?
I agree! This is getting outta hand 🤦🏾♀️
All 100% accurate sadly
You mean the wannabe sweats
Also some times you get killed so fast you think the guy had a shotgun, only to be disappointed by watching the killcam. Doesn't make sense.
Yeah I'm also experiencing extreme packet bursting and your second problem, I'm pretty sure they're related.

Ive admittedly been a sucker for far too long and MW2 was the last straw. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... or in my case 5 or 6 times....
the fact that games with SBMM feel more unfair than games without SBMM.

Literally me lol thing is mad dumb lol
Rigged dogshit
crazy thing is that cod's version of sbmm is so predatory it is never a constant fair fight. You're either stomping or getting stomped. Other games with normal sbmm feel way less punishing because it is actually keeping the matches fair and not setting you up for failure.
Sbmm in general is ruining online gaming. Definitely running strong in the beta.
I don't mind a challenge, but when the challenge is constant and artificially imposed it makes for a bad time
self made multi millionaire? or good at video games? its an easy choice
@@SCARLO.🤣🤣
You've been playing too much video games that you forgot how harsh and unfair real life is, intentionally and artificially which is some sort of algorithm, the real life's SBMM is hellish.
"in real life you're always going to get actual benefits from your hard work." to that I say (realistically and statistically) hell no.
Wait, so life has SBMM?
@@Thegooob95That argument makes no sense. SBMM also affects "Timmy", it doesn't protect them.
Yep I get like one game every 8 that I stomp in, its all rigged to keep people playing chasing that one game where you stomp
remove SBMM*
And yet I still climb to the top ever match.
It doesn’t matter what they do. If SBMM is in the game to any extent it’s not going to matter
I don’t think they could ever get rid of there algorithm now

Don’t forget having paywalls for weapons during the BETA. You gotta get the $100 bundle to use a sniper and shotgun in the beta

SBMM def tracks cross-game. Anyone who makes a fresh account and throws a few matches will know right away in comparison to the main

P.S. Explain how
2019 MW !- 2007 MW
2022 MW2 != 2009 MW2
2023 MWiii !-= 2011 MW3
but instead
2023 MWiii(3) == 2009 MW2 ?????
Maybe I should've known better than to get my hopes up...
I feel like every cod since 2019 has turned up the sbmm more and more with each one. Hence why cold war was my last cod.
Gotta rig it more so it entices these people to buy more skins..it's disgusting
I would also like to confirm that anti aim assist is indeed a thing and really affects the 'higher tiered' lobbies.
Bro I’ve been noticing since I’ve been getting higher in rank and trying to use guns that other people aren’t using I looked at kill cam recorded it and seen my sim going left and right and I was aiming directly at the guy I’m like wait did I just experience aim resist for the first time ever???
Bro I was noticing this and thought I was crazy..😂
When i'm playing better, suddenly can not aim anymore, it usually happens between updates 🤔
It affects anyone that does good in a game. Not just higher tier
I thought i was crazy, but ive noticed that a lot.
As long is SBMM is gonna be in COD the more players will leave.
True
The problem is the players that stay are the ones that buy all the bullshit in the game therefore fewer players doesn’t matter to IW at all, it’s all about the bottom line
@@LukeD-Alwaysyup there was one kid bragging about how he spends 250 dollars a month in this game or mw2 on skins and bundles ....made me sick hearing that .... I get it your money you do what you want ...but this is why we are in the pile of dogshit we are in now...
@@a-animal1206 exactly dude….if I spent 250 dollars a month on a video game I’m not sure I’d be bragging about it 😂
Nah. Look at all the people hyping up MW3 again. It won't end.
🧢🧢🧢, no other cod can top Bo2
I wish more people would listen to you. Today I was put into a game with TeeP, CourageJD, and symfunny, top 250 players in the world...I've been playing since COD4 and I would say I'm an above average player but goddamn it's just not a fun experience. Every day after I get done playing my brain just feels fried because of how hard I need to try
And they cheat
Man bro I get a fucking headache after every game because I have to focus so fucking hard just to still get my shit smoked
I even played during the Free Multiplayer Access and SBMM was poisoned in that, too! You would think they would let up on the algorithm on a free weekend to entice you to buy the game and then turn up SBMM. But no, it was alive and well during the Free Access
Why are people suprised it's in every game.
@@RaNgErs_RepDisappointing not surprising.
There hasnt been a single non-sweaty match of COD in 14 years 😂
Once the MW2 quickscoping montages started it was all over
You need NetDuma router, just back out of any game you don't like, reverse boost, play with massive 5-6 parties, etc.... Or play and hope Xdefiant is good and or play other games (rip COD).
SBMM is pure cancer and makes all games unenjoyable and un-rewarding.

This game is fun and good I agree the sbmm is horrible in it. It just sucks that a game with this much potential and one the best cods in 8 years will be plagued with sbmm
How do they expect to make a game world popular if you get punished for playing good?
I love watching the kill cam getting cross mapped without one bullet missing
feels like the sbmm in the beta is crancked to 100% i got level 30s and level 1s sliding and jumping around corners like crazy, rushing is basically impossible
Stopped playing the beta after 20 minutes because my eyes were hurting trying to see enemy nametags
mechanics FEEL nice, but it's too fast paced if overpowered SBMM is going to be a factor.
I have 2.5kd in MW2 and always feel like I’m lagging or having constant packet burst in world tournaments, MW3 beta same if not worse :(
My kd has always been positive and every year it gets slightly worse
How the fuck can you have a 2.5kd? I thought that was literally impossible in the last few CODs. I thought SBMM was designed to make everyone’s KD about 1.00
I’ve always had between a 1.5 and 3.00 KD in all CODs since cod4 and up to ww2. After that my ratio has been like 0.95 every game. It’s probably like 0.8 in mw3. Fuck SBMM
@@Worstestvideos he's lying or reverse boosting
I had a 3 kd in mw2019, first game of mwII on release night I went 89-4. After that I struggled to break 40 kills no matter how good I was playing. Only played for like a month and I will never buy another COD unless they publicly admit the skill based accuracy and damage exist and are removed.
The spawns on this game are fucking awful. Nobody touches on that enough. The original MW2 maps are absolutely ruined because of the fact that the entire fluidity of the OG map is dogshit. I run around the map and find no one, and then they spawn behind me. Forces me to camp and use meta weapons
SBMM is thick right now I’m going against full 5 man parties i just left the game lmao only my 2nd game on
Honestly I still play Cold War and I’ll say one thing, I turn off Crossplay and my games are 10x better.

SBMM is runing whats left of COD. Oh wait, Warzone: MW III
I just don’t get why Activision doesn’t get it. We don’t want to pub stomp newbs every game nor do we want to sweat every game. We just want variety sometimes I just want to have some games where I can shut off and go off on newbs. But other times I’m down for some tough competition to keep me on my toes.
Glad you’re having fun on battlefield I’m burnt out with cod too especially SBMM is why I’m playing assassin creed mirage having so much fun
Sorry for the rant. lol

This is one of the best ideas I've ever heard for call of duty. And also everything else you said was straight facts

Not a chance.
good day when BT uploads 🔥🔥
In my opinion the best way to play the game is to just leave and try try again and to not care about your stats or kd 👈🏾
But you already bought it 😂
I will NOT purchase another COD until SBMM is addressed. You’re doing the Lord’s work, BT.
Unfortunately almost every player thinks they're on cdl tryouts or something, playing as if they're actually gonna get payed, and since the community is way too brain rotted, everyone says "skill issue" or "get good"
I don't want to spend hours of my life stressing on movement techs, jumping in corners, diving, best guns/setups, etc.
I WANNA HAVE A CHILL, FUN, GAMING SESSION
One where I don't gotta worry about people just flying past me all the time and not being able to do anything about it.
I could not understand it
I'll say this again here...
