Thanks Bone's I don't have air forks on my KX 450 or KX 125 but I appreciate the knowledge
Adding oil is a simple way of stiffening up your forks. The air will compress first,so the effect of adding oil will be felt mid stroke onwards.Adding air is simpler and faster, but effects the initial part of the stroke more than oil as stated before.
It's not really about pros/cons,more about setting the fork for you, your speed and weight, and balancing the front and rear suspension. If your forks feel soft,go through the stroke too fast, add 10cc of oil.And listen to Bones,he's the best!
thanks!!!!
Really helpful thank you
great video jim!
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. VERY INFORMATIVE.
very nice job. has anyone thought about installing a cross over tube that would connect the two forks, and balance pressure between them?? just curious if this is a bad idea or something that might work. any thoughts regarding using nitrogen instead of air??
Excellent Presentation. Thnx.
Es similar a lo usado en las horquillas de bicicletas de XC, las cuales hace años utilizan aire/aceite o aire/aire. Marcas como Rock Shox, Marzocchi, Manitou, Magura son las referentes en este sistema de suspension y van fantastico.
Is it the same on older bikes I have a 1990 xr250r it has valve stems like in the video but the guy I bought it from said that it has some sort of special gas in it
sweet video guys
The manufacturers set up the bike for mister average, who may just ride his bike for fun,the bike may never see a triple or double jump in its life.If you just ride for fun, taking 10cc of oil out might be good for you. It's important to also grease the suspension linkage bearings, torque the bolts correctly.Set up your sag and static sag,Correct chain tension ,and tyre pressure. All good basic starting points, and all videos on You Tube to help.
very good the video but could put subtitles in portuguese "Brazil" because we have many bikes that are these models and we don't have much information and with the subtitles in portuguese it helps a lot
im a fair noob to this and suspension in general. whats the pros/cons of adding oil to the PSF?
Where can I buy the kit. My bike didn't come with a pump
hi pls help me. i dont know how to set up my suspension of my kx250f 2014. i am 5,5 height and 155 lbs. pls
Pressure changes by up to 5lbs in our Arizona heat. Very inconsistant forks.
if your that good at riding use nitrogen
any one know the stock oil level in the forks for the Kawasaki
Remove air forks and place in garbage, install spring forks. just like the pros do. 😉
