Such a great film sadly bashed cause it wasn't Drive Part 2. This is more an artier darker brooding affair then Drive's more commercial appeal. The soundtrack to this film is amazing and this song been the main highlight.
nonsense, it was refn's weakest film yet. I have watched all of his films multiple times and this was his weakest. Visually it is stunning and some of the best cinematography around but the story just doesnt work, it came off as boring and confused. And by boring I dont mean "oh nothing is happening" I mean "oh hes just stuck chopsticks in his arms and this torture scene is dragging". Refn's films are rarely logical and have quite a fluid dream like nature to them with sharp moments of violence etc. but this film baring a couple of interesting and excellent sequences (dream sequence in halls), has too many moments that fall flat. Gosling's facial expression is laughable at points despite him doing the exact same face in drive but in that IT WORKS because we can understand the character. I get what Refn was attempting with this movie but its a beautiful mess rather than a certified masterpiece like some claim.
steve cheevers casting Ryan gosling as the main character was a mistake, the dude is good but same director same actor as drive it was natural for people to expect another "drive type" movie. Refn should have tried to get gyllenhaal, I think he would've been the shit in this one.
This movie was piss on snow. It could have been so much better but Refn's ego got in the way and he focused more on the art of the film rather than the entertaining side (which in a movie that features the main character only saying one word at a time is very important!) The original script for this film would've been spectacular but alas he chose to have zero character development/emotions
I didn't like the film for its story, but I loved the soundtrack. I thought it blended nicely with the film as well. Also, the film was visually stunning. All the clips shown to the song look amazing.
Still listening to this gives me chills
Love it too.
Check out "Drive" soundtrack. Nothing on there as good as this one song but a decent soundtrack by Cliff Martinez@@markiv2942
As soon as I heard this music I knew I had to find it again, amazing.
Superb movie and Soundtrack screw the haters and critics they have all been brainwashed.
Where did you find the movie with English sub?
Flipodahippo English sub? The movie is English and the Thai speaking is subbed in English
I love this movie

drive didn't even have much commercial appeal either. people thought drive would be like fast n furious plus gosling
Exactly. I went into this movie with 0 expectations and now it's one of my favorite movies of all time.

I find this track insanely beautiful. It makes me feel Julian's sad longing to overcome his overbearing mother and his dark past.
I really was disappointing when this came out and over the yrs it’s grown on me … so good so visceral
Amazing movie, perfect camera work.
Easily the best track off the OST.
I really need to rewatch this again in upscaled 4K.

try analysis by Chris Stuckmann on his channel. Guarantee you gonna rediscover that movie and acknowledge that it is a masterpiece.
It's a good tribute to the omonimous song by M83.
thought it was An Ending-Brian Eno when i heard it first in the film

M83’s original version surpasses this.
