Unbelievable Scenes | Meter Gauge vs Broad Gauge Trains Engage In A Never Seen Before Race

Who wins this absolutely mad race between a Meter Gauge and a Broad Gauge Train ??
An ode to the Metre Gauge trains that have served the nation for more than a century and soon to be phased out.
Here is an amazing race that lasted for about 30 minutes totally.
Location : Izzatnagar - Bhojipura Jn
Zone : North Eastern Railway
State : Uttar Pradesh
Trains : 15214 Izzatnagar - Aishbagh Express MG
55335 Bareilly City - Lal Kuan Passenger BG
Locos : Izzatnagar (IZN) YDM4 #6461
Shakurbasti (SSB) WDM2B #18661
The morning passenger from Bareilly to Lal Kuan enters Izzatnagar on time, yet fails to depart. 5 minutes later, Aishbagh bound MG Express departs sharp on time from Izzatnagar. At the same time, the Lalkuan bound passenger gets a starter and the trains depart parallel.
Then begins a cat and mouse game, as the trains race each other all the way till Bhojipura Jn where they part ways.
Currently, both the trains do not exist. The BG Passenger has been replaced by a DEMU. The MG Express does not run as Pilibhit - Mailani section is undergoing a Gauge Conversion.

I happened to chance on this vlog, I too witnessed something like this in South India, while travelling from Tanjore to Tiruchirappalli in 2004, during a December evening, I visited this place again in 2017, and to my dismay, the meter gauge tracks have all been taken out, all that is there are remains of old abandoned shell of sheds and buildings. It was rather sad, I was looking forward to seeing that meter gauge train again. Thank you for this vlog

Awesome video, even if long! I love your sentimental defense of the meter gauge trains. Traveled on many of them, my most memorable ones being from Lucknow to Gauhati, and later from Gauhati to Silchar. The Lucknow - Gauhati was called the Awadh - Tiruth Mail - a beautiful blue train, which changed from Broad Gauge to Meter Gauge at Gorakhpur perhaps (can't remember now - many many years ago). Beautiful scenes throughout northern Bihar, Bengal and Assam (and later Mizoram). Indian Railways have been a truly unifying force for all of India! Thanks for the memories!

Both YDM-4 and WDM-2 are having that horn.
New Re-modified WDM-3A are having Hard Electronic horn.

I love this very beautiful video and often look at it. She is very original. We appreciate long two trains: the one rolling on the broad gauge and the smaller one rolling on the meter gauge. They have a lot of similarity. My preference goes to the smallest because the locomotives YDM 4 will soon disappear completely with the beautiful passenger cars Jessop brown. This meter gauge train is not really small: it has the same size of those I take every day to 7000 km from your home. I really like the Indian Railways and thank you for this unusual video
