What a beautiful job. I love that truck. You are so talented. I am an elderly lady 87 and I can't sleep so, I watch your channel and it is so soothing to just sit and watch you restore all those toys. God bless you.
What a wonderful thing you are doing ... taking a treasure that was trashed and turning it back into a treasure again for future generations to enjoy. I applaud you!
As I have seen several of these restorations, I have been noticing that many of this manufacturers undercarriages have two, rear wheel mounting positions. Am guessing these chassis' are used on several different models, depending on the location of the rear wheel wells. Great job on breathing new life into these incredible toys.
I'll put this at the top-level since I see a few comments about it: the NRA logo firmly dates the trucks to no earlier than 1933. That one, with the "we do our part" motto, was from the National Recovery Administration, a US Federal agency formed during the Great Depression, existing from 1933 until 1935.
What a truly magical gift to present to a child during the time that this toy was made. The mystic way the headlights come on would doubtless have been as delightful for a child then, as it was for me now, just seeing you bring this toy back from the brink of destruction and loss.
You are a stickler for details, I appreciate that, I watch most of your restorations at least twice, there is always a detail I miss or go back and marvel at your ability to recreate, I throughly enjoyed the “Pickle Truck Restoration”!
Chip channel is beast mode, I can’t believe the quality of these restoration videos. Watching these makes me want to quit my 9-5. This channel has inspired me to start a channel of my own and try working for myself. Great work!!!
G'day and greetings from Tasmania Australia what beautiful restorations that you do, it's great watching you bringing them back to new, Kind regards John
Don't know why but i find it very relaxing watching you sandblast the parts? I have used a sandblast cabinet many times in an old job but never thought of it before now?? Thanks.
I Just Love This Guys Work And Its Right Across The Board Its Just Swell Precision Stuff 1ST Prize Perfection Really Stunning Stuff From Him!!! Thankyou For Letting All Of Us View How You Make These Here Vehicles And Its Amazing To Watch You Go And Get Stuck Into your Work To Chip!!! Thanks A Million!!!
When you install the decals, try giving the surface a squirt of water or windex. It allows you to easily remove any bubbles and for a short time, move them into the exact position you want them in. When you get them where you want them, pat dry with a cloth. Awesome vids!
@@ChipChannelRestorations There is a nice reproduction on the market.Wasted effort!!Leave the originals to them who love them in played with state.Nice job otherwise!!!
See, now this one I'd have cleaned up and made necessary repairs, plated the brightwork, because it had 90% of it's paint. I'd have shined that up and let it stand on its own merits with the rest of it refreshed. But carry on. I'm sure it's proud of it's shiny new coat. 🙂 Happy toys make the world a better place.
Wow, those original tires looked good, however they could have benefited from a lick of a torch to freshen them up. I guess I’m like many others, I love the sandblasting. Powder coating is the only way to go, such a fine finish and very durable. The base metal of this toy was in terrific shape. The end result was perfect!
Yes I remember services like the milkman, Charles chips, something akin to Swans, Fuller brush, and of course the much awaited ice cream man with his musical truck! Those days are gone, so sad because many older people could benefit from such services if they were affordable.
I remember having milk, in glass bottles, delivered to the front door and placed in a metal box. The caps were paper. Hell even when I was in elemntary school we had glass pint bottles of milk. Those were the days.
My apartment building was constructed in the 1960s. There is a small pass-through between the storage room and the hallway. It is now sealed, of course, but my landlord told me that its original purpose was for milk delivery. I do not know how long the service was maintained.
This is the only video I watched so far, but watched other restoration videos. I noticed that before you put the rims and tires together, you didn't torch the tires. Using a heat gun or a light flame will shine and darken the tires. Making them look like new. Amazing video still. Love the combination of sandblasting and powder coating.
An easy way to clean rubber is to spray it with pledge furniture polish. Let it dry and crumble off and it takes the dirt with it. Might save you some time. Love the videos.
I really enjoy these types of videos. I'd love to see one of these toys restored but only on one side. It would be cool to see the contrast between the old side and the new side.
If you have doubles of the same toy you should take both to Antiques Roadshow, have one restored and one with old patina when you go. I wonder if the expert appraiser will be as impressed with your fine work as we all are.

Actually, it´s kinda cool the way ot looked before restoration, as well. Genuinely spent over by time. Lot of history there.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pa and I truly appreciate this restoration.
My favorite of all your restorations. I also love the opening when you use the tow truck to select which one you're going to restore.

Thank you for that information. I was just about to ask why the NRA decal?
Oddly enough, the National Rifle Assn. HQ was located in the same building as the National Recovery Admin.
Phew. That's a relief. I was dreading a Qanon sticker on the next toy restoration.
@@speedmastermarkiii Then we'd really be in a pickle...
Thank you! I was just about to google it and read your comment!
Toys were made so much better back in the day, you did a wonderful job bringing this toy back from the big toy box in the sky!
What a truly magical gift to present to a child during the time that this toy was made. The mystic way the headlights come on would doubtless have been as delightful for a child then, as it was for me now, just seeing you bring this toy back from the brink of destruction and loss.
That really came out looking sharp. I love the vehicles from the 30's
Man those kids in the 30s had the best toys. Great reatorations.
Watching the sand blasting is an anxiety relief. The light mechanism is so simple, no wires or switches, yet it looks so amazing, great work 👍🏽.
I love how crude the headlights are on these toys. Just a bulb screwed into a socket.
I love watching your restorations, they are very relaxing and inspiring, making the old new again. And I adore the sheep too😊👍
Hey I just love it. Love when you start the sandblasting and seeing the start of a real facelift to new.
It was loved and played with but not much ruat. Thank you for restoring this. God bless.
you did a great job restoring the pickle truck.
I'm in love with those spring green hubs. ♥ And DANG, 2 batteries with some BRIGHT lights! lol

So much fun and such eye appealing results.
You restore these toys to better than new condition.
My husband used to tell me stories about the “rolling store” coming to his parent’s farm. This is probably how his “rolling store” looked

Did they also advertise the NRA?
